I would like to know how can I contact you . I have had lower back pain for over two years supposelly due to two annular tears or a grade 1 spondilolisthesis, I saw the video about the guy from Australia that fights MMA and got better after over 5 years , that gave me hope that I can also recover . I’m also following McGill instructions but there is much that I need to understand to help me better , I have lots of limitations due to pain and I need to watch everything I do , it have destroyed pretty much everything I liked to do and I have no more social life or relationships as I pretty much got a flare up out of anywhere it’s very unpredictable but I have just accepted to live like this , the story the guy tell on that video how the person feels it’s exactly how I fell , you stop to care for anything even if it would be a lot of money . You don’t care so much because this chronic pain is terrible and limits my life so much . I liked to work out a lot and go to the gym and the only activity I can do is swim craw style and even that I have to be careful getting inside the pool using stairs . It’s terrible , I hope there will be a way out of this living hell .

Hi, I did side plank on the left side but my right QL hurt after that. I don't understand how, can you tell from experience.

Yes it’s probably guarding in spasm, I’d try to get the QL calm down with massage and stretching first, then make sure your form is perfect on side planks to not re-spasm it. Easier said than done but hope this helps

Off topic but were you ever given Naproxen or steroid shots for pain management before getting back to strengthening exercises?
