I wanted to know what you think about the 14 Pro compared to a 15 and I mean a stock 15 compared to a 14 Pro and this is solely based on cost . I know the 15 has longevity because it has usb c and dynamic island but the 14 Pro has dynamic island and Pro motion and the only really sacrifice is lightning and personally I dont think lightning is that much of an issue especially considering the release of Qi2 fast charging devices making wireless charging almost as good as wired charging . I would love to buy a 15 but the price point is the biggest factor for especially because how competitive the used iphone market has become .. I'd like your opinion on this question if you dont mind . Also I'm coming from a samsung s21 FE and my last iphone was an 8 so for me right now I guess the excitement of going back to iphone could cloud my judgement and make me make hasty decisions
Hi there, both phones are very good. It’s almost a match, I guess it will go down to what are you willing to sacrifice? The USB-C or the Pro Motion? It sounds to me like you are ok with sacrificing USB-C and it also sounds like you can find a good deal for 14 Pro. So I’d say go for 14 Pro.
I also had to choose between the two phones, but I opted the 15, I was ok with sacrificing Pro Motion. Also because of the RUclips channel it made more sense for me to get the latest iPhone so I can unbox, review etc

Especially if the charging speed is the exact same . I guess the way I see it is lightning will become a serious issue after iphone 17 and even then it won't be like apple will stop making the cable but coming from android with 120hz to 60 hz just feels like a sacrifice that I shouldn't have to make really and maybe by iphone 17 there will be no 60hz to have to battle with . Honestly I really think the only upgrade to the 15 is the port and dynamic island and in the greater gist of things its sort of a meh upgrade
Initially I also thought the same about USB-C, I didn’t get the hype, but after buying the iPhone 15 i kinda enjoy the USB-C. I recently bought an SSD which is key to my workflow and I’m able to use it across the iPhone, iPad and Mac with less hustles cause it’s USB-C. I also use same charger for the iPad and iPhone, it really is convenient. But I still have some lightning accessories so I guess I’ll fully enjoy USB-C once I’ve moved everything to USB-C.
You forgot the Camera as one of the top upgrades on the iPhone 15. That camera got a major boost especially when compared to iPhone 14. From 12MP to 48MP.
@techpodza hmm I haven't considered getting an ipad yet I want to see what the new ones will look like and I'm using a macbook so that doesn't discriminate between cables really. . In terms of camera I'm really not someone who uses my camera that much so even that upgrade doesn't seem like a compelling reason to buy the 15 . People have been living with lightning I can probably do the same even though there's a better option
