- After so many requests to make a what if concerning Bardock, the father of Goku, it's time to address a potential scenario. Instead of being laughed at, Bardock's prediction was taken more seriously and some of the Saiyans escaped Frieza's blasting away of Planet Vegeta. Cassava: "So, truth be told, we weren't expecting it to happen. He and I shared one night of passion before deploying to Freeza Planet 315."

Cassava: "and unfortunately, Bardock didn't know what 'protection' meant."
Vegeta: "I really don't need to know this..."
Cassava: "But after that first time, I just thought 'Well, in for a penny, in for a pounding.'"

Cassava: "And I **really** was."
Vegeta: (external screaming that ripples through the space-time continuum)
Goku: Raditz....do you hear that?

Cold gets Cooler and hunts down the Saiyans after Goku, possibly Raditz and the Earthlings return to Earth. They force even the Super Saiyan Bardock and continually improving Vegeta to retreat and thus head to Earth to seek help from Kakarot, the Earthlings and Raditz if he went.
Cold and co-intercept this "retreat" and wind up on Earth as expected, but perhaps during the Androids rampaging for some added tension.
There's ideas that can be worked with but it's just a matter of thinking of them?

Yeah because Goku doesn't know instant transmission or the kaioken, I was originally worried what was going to happen during the tournament of power since he didn't know the kaioken but they may not even make it that far if Cell just kamikazes the entire planet since Goku doesn't know instant transmission.

Can we just all address that MasakoX Gives every single character in DB, well, character? I absolutely love it. He made Vegeta, who's already a fan favorite, even better.
That is why Super Dragon Ball Heroes is a thing. Its a promotional anime that doesn't take itself too seriously. Maybe Dragon Ball Super can incorporate those ideas into its own canonical story. We shall see.
I'm beginning to think the series would be better in his hands than Toriyama's.

This was honestly one of my favorites What If's Masako's put out over the years. It's a shame to see it come to an end though. Even after this, I feel that it could go on with the Buu saga but excluding the Cell Saga in the process because of the Cell from this timeline's future I think would be considerably weaker against the sheer numbers the Saiyans have accumulated over the years but that's just my thoughts. And I absolutely ADORE the little nod at the end with Bardock and Cassava having a little more than a thing on the way. The blood of a royal with that of a "low-class" warrior sent shivers down my spine and generally got me excited for their future. If in the future should Masako decide to reopen this What If for a Season 2, I would come running over the hills to watch it all over again.

Nah, I knew that was coming, but what a way to just slide that in there. Honestly, it’s a good end to Bardock’s major narrative, but at the same time this only covers up to the Freeza saga, and enough seems to have changed that it ought to have a major impact on the rest of the events. Heck, Bardock’s new kid would be 5 by the Android Saga, same age as Gohan when he helped fight Nappa. And that kid would be 12-13 for the Buu Saga. Not to mention the potential arcs one could have with Bardock and Kasava in the mix. Like, how would that affect Future Trunks?

With this series coming to an end, i propose another. “What if Bardock went to Earth with Goku? Maybe Bardock left the Saiyans to their fate?
Honestly that wouldn't be a terrible idea, while he would certainly be more combative than Gine was in her version, he's also smart enough to not make any major waves so as not to draw too much attention to himself and his son. So yeah, we might see him intervene when it comes to the King Piccolo stuff, or he might stay hands off for the entirety of Dragonball because helping his son in any way other than training would only cheapen the experience for him. He probably wouldn't do any actual fighting or get directly involved until the Saiyan saga, or Namek saga at the latest.
Hell, what if the whole Root Family went to earth with Goku.

@@LadyMeiun Given his practicality, he'd probably try to learn Martial Arts from (He's got brute strength, but I don't know if his fighting style has form to it, part of what makes Goku so deadly is he has both.) Roshi or others, then probably would start training others cause I imagine him thinking "It's only a matter of time til Frieza finds this place.

Saiyan Saga for sure because he'd have to slap some sense into Raditz.

...but if inspiration never does strike again for this tale, yes, you ended it well.
Thanks, pal. Truth of the matter is that this was a good time to end it. Otherwise it would've lingered on for years and petered out with a whimper. Here, it ended with a bang...on many levels.

Without Bulma being in the picture, maybe you could replace Future Trunks witth Future Bardock and Gine's Kid (maybe a daughter to spice things up?)! That would be AWESOME.

Been a big fan of this one for a long time, sad to see it end...
But then again...Dragon Ball on Earth still kinda happened...The Red Ribbon Army was beaten by kid Goku...so doesn't that mean Gero is still going to make #17, #18, and Cell? Sure, he wouldn't have Frieza or Cold's cells this time around so he wont be going galactic anytime soon, but he should have Goku, Piccolo, and Raditz. If the Z-Fighters don't go home...Earth's gonna be in some serious trouble...Not to mention the sealed Buu Ball...
The sealed Buu ball is not a danger. Come on, there is no energy there. Babidi spots earth when Gohan goes SSJ2. So, in short: Red Ribbon for the win? oh and Cell? i dunno know, that one is screwy.
This timeline's Cell is just a buff green guy with long hair.
The Buu Ball wouldn't be much trouble. They all have a couple years to train for that. Hell, this Goku still remains top dog until Bardock turns SSJ. If Goku and Gohan can handle Buu, imagine how well an entire race at the very least close to that would do.

13:27 I had to take a moment to fully absorb what was said there; holding Frieza's head in the same hand he's charging and firing his strongest attack. That. Is so brutal and kickass, and I would adore having that attack be in an actual Dragon Ball game for Bardock.
It's essentially that one move Broly does where he grabs you and charges a ki blast in the same hand, but with Bardock.

Honestly, I loved this story! I always felt bad for Bardock getting stuck in the Jor-El position of sending his son away and then getting blown up on a doomed planet. This was really fun! And that lats little detail about the Queen rubbing her stomach? ... Nice. Well done MasakoX!

what if android 8 instead of just checking on suno and her grandma and doing crowd control like in the anime helped fight king piccolo with tien and goku and then was repaired of any injuries by bulma who was able to upgrade his battle power so he could keep up to help when vegeta and nappa showed up

Doubtful if it's completed, imo. The part focusing on Bardock is, and a new happily ever after for him, but Raditz, Vegeta, and Kakarot/Goku and fam still need to learn Super Saiyan, King Cold is still out there ("You murdered my Princess! Ah, well, you win some, you lose some." "Children?" "Yeah."), the Androids are coming, and the Majins have to be dealt with.

Honestly I could see this what if continuing. The saiyan doesn't have a permanent home and I could see Goku telling them to go to Earth. Leading into the android saga and so on.
I think yoy should continue with this what if to see and be more of what holds in the future. Like some saiyans living on Earth and might face the androids. Plus Bardock. Believable God.
