Yes, they'll escape Nappa's notice for awhile. Repressing power levels is an easy thing to do in Z, and Nappa's not smart enough to think of that possibility.
Saiyans have shown to be very proficient at learning combat techniques, I mean look how fast vegeta learned to suppress his energy in canon. So yes I think they will be able to hide from the frieza force.
Oh the Saiyans would learn to suppress their energy and pretty fast too. From what I've seen and can remember it's not a hard technique to do and learn. It's just subtly is often overlooked in Dragonball in favor of POWER UPS!

This is honestly one of the best what ifs you've done so far, it's actually a different perspective rather than slightly altered version of the DBZ timeline. Like Namek hasn't even happened yet & the boys took off to New Vegeta to train before an assault. That's epic to think about, keep it up.

TL;DR: There's no way Nappa will find them before they learn to hide their power levels. I think it's safe to assume that the new scouters wouldn't exceed a few orders of magnitude increase in detection range. Given that we never see scouters exceed the range of a planet, I don't think the range of the new scouters would exceed a star system. Nappa would probably have to be searching aimlessly for a while before picking up on their star system. Given how little time it took Vegeta to get the hang of Ki sensing and suppressing on his own, I think the other Saiyans could pick it up quickly with proper training. Bear in mind that most if not all Saiyans can use Ki blasts, meaning that they do already have a decent amount of control over the flow of their Ki. Everything points to them learning to suppress their power levels before Nappa finds them.
My vote is yes, but it won't matter. Simply put, sooner or later someone in the Freeza Force is going to start recognizing a pattern and at that point they're pretty much discovered. As for why my vote is yes, Saiyans tend to pick up on new skills and techniques fairly quickly. Even in canon, Vegeta managed to pick up the energy sensing and suppression techniques incredibly quickly and without much in the way of actual instruction. Now it can be argued that both Goku and Vegeta are both incredibly talented prodigies amongst Saiyans, but even then I imagine it taking no more than a few months to a year tops for the rest of the Saiyans to learn.
I would think that the Saiyans learn to suppress their power for quite a while before Nappa finds them, and by then maybe up to 20-50 planets are under their belt giving them an army to fight Freiza.

They've all been training so the knowledge of ki manipulation is def there. Not that far of a stretch to say they learned how to control their own power output from goku bardock and such. I think the prototype scouter would pick up Vegita's power for a split moment before he could properly suppress his power. This would give them a small challenge, and lead to an interesting bout.

I say they'd learn to suppress their energy pretty quickly. Remember, Vegeta was able to learn how to do it after seeing it for himself just once when he went to Earth, and he learned to do it without help so clearly. It's not hard to do.
I always love these "what if sennario's" from you! Their always so thoughtful and have a way of making the DBZ lore so much richer and more complex. In this case I love the more "Star Wars" idea. @@27gamers13 flying and ki control isn't easy Yes saiyan could probably learn to do it but not fast enough it took Vegeta a while to do it and you need full concentration. Also she does not have a mastery of Ki control like the Z fighters do.

What if Bardock and friends could practice it in time but there is some not fortunate circumstanses they were spotted so they had to emergency crash to Namek. Ps. love all of your what if.
How about what if the Ginyu force turned good? Like how about the Z fighters spare Some of the members of the Ginyu force and imprison them instead, ( which may seem far fetched but I recall the Z fighters insisting to spare the members of the Frieza force in RoF) later they escape during a fight with Frieza and say they want to fight for him, but instead Frieza kills them for their weakness, and maybe even Ginyu as a frog witnesses this, the Ginyu force then contemplates this in the other world and I'll let you take it from here Masako.

I think it'd be interesting if Freeza at least got an inkling that they could hide their power level, but not immediately realise it, maybe they get away from him at the last moment, him thinking his scouter got damaged or was faulty until he got back to one of his planets and one of his underlings tells him it seems to be in perfect working order. He nearly explodes in anger at his underling, thinking he's implying it's somehow Freeza's fault when it clicks. He simply walks away, leaving the underling almost confused as to why he's still alive as he mutters to himself "So the monkeys learnt of a way to sneak around..."
This what if, is by far my favourite. This actually does give the Sayan Saga a whole new deep meaning for everyone. It kinda does erase training with King Kai, as of this moment though.... Either way, I am really thrilled to hear, how this story proceeds. It does take a lot effort to create such an elaborate alternative time line and I enjoy it a lot!
I think the answer might be in between. The Saiyans learn to suppress their power just as Nappa finally gets a lock on them. However, before Nappa can figure out exactly where the blip came from, the signature vanishes with no trace. Nappa, of course, would report the blip and the direction it came from, but by the time he is dispatched to investigate, the other Saiyans would be gone. Nappa, seeing the happiness of the few remaining inhabitants (who wouldn't realize Nappa wasn't a part of the group that had left), he begins to wonder at the direction his people were taking. With the intel Nappa might be able to overhear (from other Frieza soldiers if not Frieza or his entourage), he would find out that the other Saiyans are disrupting resource routes and freeing planets from Frieza's control. Disrupting resources would make sense to Nappa, but the rest probably wouldn't, not at first.
I have an idea for the next part, the sayians in their planet hopping tactics stumble upon namek and are met with the frieza force led by Nappa, and a three way battle ensues with namekian warriors, frieza fighters, and the main Saiyan gang with Goku and his earth buddies, and the namekians are genuinely confused as to who to side with
I think Nappa actually does something right and finds them on the scouter, but just before the gang learns how to suppress their power. That way, when Nappa goes to Freiza, they're slowly blipping out of existence. A real race against time.
I like to think dragonball, dragonball z, dragonball super, and gt are almost their own continuities. The Broly movie bardock is the bardock of dragonball super, and the father of goku bardock was the bardock of dragonball z.
Vegeta learned to sense and control his power level almost as soon as he realized it was possible, is an easy enough technique to learn for anyone relevant (with high power level) that I see no way Nappa can find them before that
This is one of my favorites and I think they would be able to learn to suppress their power levels in time but it would also help if they rethought their plan through and remove themselves from the planet they are currently on and got to earth with Goku and the rest that way they could build up their number even higher and do even more damage to freeza to speak nothing of having a greater supply of senzu beans which would enable all of them to get even stronger and have an even greater chance against freeza
I'm gonna go with team "they learned how to sense energy in time" due to how quickly Vegeta picked it up post his fight with Goku. Saiyans in general are OP like that.
I feel Nappa should see them on the scouter for a very short time, and then they learn to suppress their power and make a very close escape from the planet
They should escape but Freeza being smart goes into some records and eventually finds out another way that they are on Earth. They have more time, but Freeza still finds them. Battle should be epic.
Yeah. I think a great majority of them learn to suppress their energy and Goku probably teaches his father and the others to sense energy naturally, but Nappa might catch up with them sooner than they think.
Something to keep in mind is that... It didn't take Goku very long to learn how to sense ki, and it took less than a day for Vegeta. Controlling power does seem to be a thing Vegeta can do on Namek pretty quickly as well. In all honesty... If they had a week to teach everybody, it could probably done. If they have less time than that, however... Chances are the scouter would pick them up before they could finish training.

@cbridg01 If not, the next best option is the Super Dragon Balls. If it is capable of switching the bodies of Zamasu and Goku, then it should be possible to alter someone's DNA.

I think it'd be interesting if Freeza at least got an inkling that they could hide their power level, but not immediately realise it, maybe they get away from him at the last moment, him thinking his scouter got damaged or was faulty until he got back to one of his planets and one of his underlings tells him it seems to be in perfect working order. He nearly explodes in anger at his underling, thinking he's implying it's somehow Freeza's fault when it clicks. He simply walks away, leaving the underling almost confused as to why he's still alive as he mutters to himself "So the monkeys learnt of a way to sneak around..."
This what if, is by far my favourite. This actually does give the Sayan Saga a whole new deep meaning for everyone.
It kinda does erase training with King Kai, as of this moment though.... Either way, I am really thrilled to hear, how this story proceeds.
It does take a lot effort to create such an elaborate alternative time line and I enjoy it a lot!
I think the answer might be in between. The Saiyans learn to suppress their power just as Nappa finally gets a lock on them. However, before Nappa can figure out exactly where the blip came from, the signature vanishes with no trace. Nappa, of course, would report the blip and the direction it came from, but by the time he is dispatched to investigate, the other Saiyans would be gone. Nappa, seeing the happiness of the few remaining inhabitants (who wouldn't realize Nappa wasn't a part of the group that had left), he begins to wonder at the direction his people were taking. With the intel Nappa might be able to overhear (from other Frieza soldiers if not Frieza or his entourage), he would find out that the other Saiyans are disrupting resource routes and freeing planets from Frieza's control. Disrupting resources would make sense to Nappa, but the rest probably wouldn't, not at first.
Can Gine be mentioned or ask by anyone in the Son? Family?
I think in this WI Gine would be highly respected for her duties.
My head canon for this what-if is that Gine was one of the saiyans who got blasted when trying to escape Vegeta.
I love the idea of this cat and mouse game while the Saiyans prepare their revenge. Should be an interesting series!
What if Frieza saw vegetas potential part 2?
I have an idea for the next part, the sayians in their planet hopping tactics stumble upon namek and are met with the frieza force led by Nappa, and a three way battle ensues with namekian warriors, frieza fighters, and the main Saiyan gang with Goku and his earth buddies, and the namekians are genuinely confused as to who to side with
Ahhh simpler times. Hahaha WHO CAN SEE THE FUTURE!
I think Nappa actually does something right and finds them on the scouter, but just before the gang learns how to suppress their power. That way, when Nappa goes to Freiza, they're slowly blipping out of existence. A real race against time.
What if Goku went ultra instinct during the fight with kid buu? I know he didn't know what self movement was but it'll still be cool

I like to think dragonball, dragonball z, dragonball super, and gt are almost their own continuities. The Broly movie bardock is the bardock of dragonball super, and the father of goku bardock was the bardock of dragonball z.

Vegeta learned to sense and control his power level almost as soon as he realized it was possible, is an easy enough technique to learn for anyone relevant (with high power level) that I see no way Nappa can find them before that

This is one of my favorites and I think they would be able to learn to suppress their power levels in time but it would also help if they rethought their plan through and remove themselves from the planet they are currently on and got to earth with Goku and the rest that way they could build up their number even higher and do even more damage to freeza to speak nothing of having a greater supply of senzu beans which would enable all of them to get even stronger and have an even greater chance against freeza

They should escape but Freeza being smart goes into some records and eventually finds out another way that they are on Earth. They have more time, but Freeza still finds them. Battle should be epic.

Yeah. I think a great majority of them learn to suppress their energy and Goku probably teaches his father and the others to sense energy naturally, but Nappa might catch up with them sooner than they think.

Something to keep in mind is that... It didn't take Goku very long to learn how to sense ki, and it took less than a day for Vegeta. Controlling power does seem to be a thing Vegeta can do on Namek pretty quickly as well. In all honesty... If they had a week to teach everybody, it could probably done. If they have less time than that, however... Chances are the scouter would pick them up before they could finish training.
