- After so many requests to make a what if concerning Bardock, the father of Goku, it's time to address a potential scenario. Instead of being laughed at, Bardock's prediction was taken more seriously and some of the Saiyans escaped Frieza's blasting away of Planet Vegeta. Even the Queen survives! What might happen had Bardock had time to form a proper counterattack against the galactic emperor? Let's discuss!

This approach is sooooo much smarter for Bardock than his actual "LEEROOOOOOY JENKINS!" moment in the canon.

@@chrisschoenthaler5184 Well, we do have a statement from Toriyama that Saiyan culture did not practice marriage, so it could also be say Vegeta's mother was likely the king's favorite concubine.
On the other end of the spectrum, however, and what I think is a more interesting idea, we could say the Queen was not nessesarily even attached to the king in that manner, and she was simply the strongest female warrior among the Saiyins, and by that extent she and the King would have had a child purely for the sake of breeding a strong bloodline, because that was something the Saiyins did care about.

But it's more than likely the queen was killed when Frieza first invaded which would be a reason for King Vegeta to be fearful for his youngest son table's passive nature and why he died trying to secure his eldest son Vegeta jr. Before trying to taking out Frieza.
Reason why this is greatly possible it would mean Vegeta takes more after his father then he realizes as being a secret family man.

The Webcomic Dragon Ball Multiverse did something similar. Bardock challenged King Vegeta for the Throne and won. He then convinced everyone to attack Frieza. They won, easily. Basically they used powerballs (only three Saiyans at the time could do it), flew up to Frieza's ship in orbit and nuked it with like a hundred Oozaru mouth cannons before Frieza could even get to his second form (in fact Frieza was in mid transformation so he couldn't defend himself). Normal Bardock could just plow through Frieza's forces, so a hundred Oozaru turned them into paste. They went on to conquer the universe like Frieza did, but they were all later killed by Dr. Raichi. Every Saiyan is killed besides Bardock.
I wasn't a fan of multiverse and that honestly doesn't seem probable, anyway. Nappa as an elite was 4,000 and Bardock was at about 10,000 so their Oozaru states wouldn't be much against Freeza. Even a hundred of them wouldn't do anything to Freeza, but that's just my opinion. Most would probably still be weaker than Dodoria and certainly a transformed Zarbon. Also, it still takes a bit for saiyans to transform so if Freeza was actually worried he could just transform at the same time, which didn't take that long when he did do it.
Oozaru's are confirmed to multiply power by 10. So, Bardock would've been at 100,000. The average Saiyan was at about 1000 at most, so they'd only be 10,000 or so. Nappa has 5,000 (not 4,000), so that puts him at 50,000. Dodoria and Zarbon (pre-transformation) were at 22,000 and 24,000. Furthermore, Freeza was unaware until the transformations were complete for the most part, and transforming himself isn't an immediate option (As up until that point, he hadn't done so in many years). Couple that with being caught off guard, take Freeza's first form power lvl of 530,000, and you realize that 100 Oozaru (especially 2 of them being over 50,000) can indeed probably wipe them out in such a situation.
Not saying you should be a fan of DBM, but it is definitely more likely than you give it credit for.
+An Advocate For Manga first of all, Nappa was 4,000 according to Daizenshuu 7 so I'm not sure where you're getting 5,000 from; Kanzenshuu shows the reference, as well. I know what Dodoria's power level is, as well as Zarbon's base state so what's your point? My point was that most of the saiyans would be weaker than each of them even as Oozarus. "Furthermore, Freeza was unaware until the transformations were complete for the most part, and transforming himself isn't an immediate option (As up until that point, he hadn't done so in many years)." What's your reference for that? Also, it should be kept in mind that the first time a transformation is shown it's usually slowed down for dramatic effect, but in every case the Oozaru transformation isn't instantaneous. Regardless, there are only two ways they would even transform. First, they could do it on the planet and fly up to the ship from there. Second, they could do it in space (which kind of doesn't make sense because a power ball is supposed to mix with the atmosphere, but saiyans can't really breathe in space either so it's whatever). In either case, Freeza would still have enough time to transform if he needed to without dying. I also think that you're underestimating how great the power gap would really be. For example, Piccolo was 3,500 during the saiyan arc yet couldn't really do anything to damage Nappa. Another example, Vegeta when he fought Dodoria was 24,000 and Dodoria couldn't touch him. Having a power level of more than 25 times than most of them and still 5 times more than the strongest (aside from Vegeta and probably King Vegeta) I don't think Freeza would be in any danger. Multiverse was terrible, but even that aside, the writing, esp. in this instance, isn't even consistent with Toriyama's own writing, nor the writing of any of the other guidebooks.

I have spent years fantasizing about what it would have been like if a small colony of Saiyans had escaped Freeza's influence and restarted their race on a distant planet out of his reach. This video and its sequel was like something straight of my day-dreams, I love it.
I've always thought it was a real shame to think that ALL of the Saiyans, save for Goku/Kakarot, Raditz, Nappa, and Vegeta were killed in the extinction event caused by Freeza. I say, "What happened to all the off-world stragglers on away missions?" I say, "What about free spirits, rebels, those who fled from Freeza and refused to submit?" But no, We never really did get any of that.
I always thought it would be such a cool idea to imagine a sort of Saiyan Odyssey, where a small handful of a few dozen or a few hundred Saiyans attempt to remake themselves by traversing the stars, becoming a nomadic and decidedly more humble species (after all, you can't hold onto the "proud Saiyan warrior" imagine if you are constantly living in fear and exile), slowly working towards the day they might either find peace or finally put Freeza in a grave, whichever came first.
It's awesome to hear a similar, yet different perspective from a fellow DBZ fan discussing something I have thought about for years quietly to myself.
I have a story in the works that's pretty much like that. It's been pretty fun so far, just taking a longtime to draw cuz I've been tied up ijn other commissions. I sorta planned on sharing it on here when it was done

Gohan's power at that stage was like 1200 to 1500, taking in the power multiplier of 50, his power would be 60-75k. Vegeta in Oozaru could still take him on and would kill him. That would push Vegeta to nuke Earth as it was the half saiyan spawn that was the legend and Vegeta would have been beyond angry

Here's a fun multi-parter for ya. What if Bulma started training with Goku? It's a pretty easy one to start too. After Bulma takes the Dragon Ball and starts traveling with Goku, she thinks about how Goku took a bullet to the face, and didn't even slow down. She thinks to herself how useful that would be on her journey to collect the likely well protected Dragon Balls, and wonders if Goku would be willing to teach her how to do that. So she offers him a deal, teach her how to be as strong as him and she'll teach him about girls and the world as she knows it. Goku accepts as he's naturally curious and he also gets to train with someone new, and so it begins. What do you think?

You know, the interesting thing is the knock on effects of a more worldly Goku when he meets Chi-Chi. That'd be an interesting relationship dynamic to explore.
Bulma isn't likely to ever be a powerhouse, all her intelligence does her little good here. Especially given her poor work ethic at the time. But study of the science behind Ki manipulation could cause some pretty terrifying long term effects. Look at Dr. Gero, and she's as good a scientist as he is. I expect a prototype Scouter type device would be pretty quick in coming and if she learns how to seal Ki into capsules? Things get VERY off the rails. (Think 'Vegeta demands she make a Ki cannon powerful enough to kill Freeza on pain of destroying Earth.' levels of things are weird.)
What if Vegeta wished back the sayians?
That wouldn't work... if i recall, Earth's dragon can only revive people with in about a year.
and even if thats not the case... there soul would need a body to return to... which are in space... which saiyans cant breath in (upper most atmosphere has oxygen, just very little)

The Earth balls, originally, had more limits. However, when they were reforged to have two wishes it could have been used to bring the planet back and his people. Lacking that, if he had sufficient motivation, he could either do it one at a time or use the super dragon balls.

During the wait between this part and the next perhaps the colony locates the OTHER Saiyan Prince. Vegeta's younger brother: Tarble.

That's true. Broly would be a great threat to the new saiyan community, unless someone manages to make Broly change his mind, or just freeing him so he turns on Paragus
Yeah, due to the obvious time=skip in this story then the only chance Broly would have had to be turned to the Saiyan's side is if Broly was taken in by them early on.
Paragus loaths King Vegeta, and as we know; Prince Vegeta just as much. I don't doubt he would want to kill the Queen and Prince Tarble to boot.

You got a gift, masako. I start watching these what ifs thinking "oh, its just something to watch, won't be that compelling" but at the end, I'm like "When is the next episode!! I need to hear more of this!!"
The problem with trying to be true to Bardock's character is that despite the popular belief that Bardock's relationship with Gine conflicts with his characterization, it really doesn't.
Besides that this was a good theory and I can't wait for Part 2.
This is actually a fan manga, Bardock decides to overthrow King Vegeta, then command everyone to gang up on Frieza (as great apes, and blows him up)
Universe 3 of the Dragon Ball Multiverse fan comic. Universe 3 Bardock is the last remaining Saiyin and takes part in the Multiverse tournament to get a wish from Dragon Balls so he can bring his kingdom back. Bardock even allowed Paragus and Broly to live so that Broly's LSSJ form could be controlled and used to conquer the galaxy. Many Saiyins actually learned the Super Saiyan transformation after Broly's form was revealed!

A lot of liberty was taken in making this, and I'm liking where it is going, keep it up Masako, I hope to see a continuation of this, soon.
Oh yeah! I have a "What if" for ya!
What if Chi-Chi continued fighting? She IS the Ox King's daughter, after all!! I foresee a lot of interesting opportunities, especially with Piccolo kidnapping her son. I wouldn't give her ki-flight (at least not yet; maybe she has reservations about learning it), so she'd go on quite the search. Eventually, she'd find Piccolo and Gohan, but would fall mercy to Piccolo, since she wouldn't QUITE be as strong. But then Gohan would explain to Chi-Chi that Piccolo isn't all that bad. I do think she'd still have reservations about letting Gohan fight, but Piccolo would start to bond with both of them, and let Chi-Chi know that "Your boy is strong. He'll be able to take care of himself." And then a nice bond would form, with Piccolo actually having another adult with whom to talk! Kinda like "What if Radditz Turned Good", and we all know how well that went over!!
I think this would be very interesting. It would make more sense why she gets along with Goku, but she could still remain the foil, considering she still doesn't really want Gohan fighting, since she knows the danger of it all. And of course, there's the Namek saga, where maybe a similar scenario to the one in "Bulma Married Goku" plays out, but it's after a long battle to protect her son!
I dunno, something to think about!
I got a crazy What If! What If, instead of blowing up cell while he's in his embryonic-state in the sub lab they instead have Bulma inspect it and the have her reprogram him to be good. (I'm assuming maybe Gohan might see that cell as he is then hasn't done anything evil and would argue over the fact that he can still be changed for the better and they could prevent him from turning into the monster that Future Cell is without having to kill an innocent being which had no say in its creation and hasn't done anything bad.) Like or Comment if you agree or want this to be a real What If!!! 3

Those two wouldnt make much of a diffrents... It reviled Goten was in the future timeline, as Goku Black killed him and Chi-Chi, and being Chi-Chi she still probably didnt let him train or fight as offen as a saiyan should, thus making him weak.
Bulla on the other hand would have Gohan, and later Trunks to train her... and if done right she might/could be a formidable ally

What if goku learned fusion the first time he died
Goku would have no one to fuse with. All of the Z-warriors were either too weak or just not physically compatible. Also, I'd say that Goku would have had to sacrifice learning either the Kaioken or the Genkidama since by the time mastered everything and finished his training he was already going to be late.

I know this probably isn’t that popular of a What If but...What if Cell replaced Buu in the Tournament of Power instead of Frieza? It could be interesting so I thought I’d mention it.

Thus,Universe eleven wins. Jiren tried to make his wish,but Zeno destroyed him or he wished back all of the universes.
Cell wouldn't make that much if an impact as he was practically weaker then everyone in universe seven by now.

Cell could easily grow in power sufficient enough to rival Frieza and someone like Cabba or Frost would be no match for him.

This is why power scaling needed to stay. Because people like you think any of the humans are as strong as Freeza was in the Namek Saga or even close. Cell would only be behind Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, and 17. He's got 18, Krillin, Tien, and Roshi beat; especially when you consider ROF where those last few struggled against a thousand people of about 2000-ish in power level.

+arbussman Freeza was afraid of a super saiyan coming to be and the saiyans becoming stronger in general. At the time Freeza knew that he could destroy the saiyans easily regardless, which is why he did. He just wasn't going to let them become stronger. He was afraid of what they could become in the future, not then.

That's the joy of these What If's. I mean, he did "What if Goku went SS when Krillin died the first time"
I sexond this. Gohan could just dominate, killing Nappa almost instantly and starts to fight Vegeta. Then, midfight, Gohan passes out, using too much energy. Goku then jumps in, and finishes off Vegeta, but lets him go.
You are forgetting how super saiyan works... Super saiyan is pretty much your base power level times 50 so gohan still would of lost to great ape vegeta who has a higher power level than gohan's times 50. Same thing for if kid goku went super saiyan he wouldn't be very strong at all but he still would of kicked king piccolo's ass

Well What if Goku as an adult perhaps in the Radiza Saga, Saiyan Saga or The Frieza Saga meets goku meets Bardock because bardock decided to retreat as he was already injured from friezas forces deciding to lick his wounds to only show up in any of the sagas perhaps looking for his son in hopes of having more saiyans to face off against frieza while teaming up and reconnecting with his Lost son Goku and perhaps Raditz???
Interesting idea and I'd love to see how this turns out, my only gripe is no Gine, but that's more so because I've been a sucker for ever since she was introduced.
Yes Yesss the story is quite pleasing especially having the Sayajin Queen around to shed her influence on her people all thanks to Bardock's actions, the subtle growth of the society of Sayajin's by forming bonds and living like other races are supposed to is a very promising sign, because under proper guidance and training these new Sayajins could in the long run surpass Frieza's forces and go out to explore and maybe colonize other planets but not under the methods that they used to when working for Frieza

@@litalicious2410 Probably not at this point Bardock's Power level is 7000 while King Vegeta is 6000 So Strongest Saiyan is Bardock but we need Pure hearted then they found some Pure ones the cooks then Bardock became a Super Saiyan God but due to Power levels Bardock will be 7000x2000 =
14M which isn't enough unless Bardock won't let Frieza Go Final Form.
