- We finally got to stay in one of the "new" Junior Suites on Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas! These Jr. Suites are located on deck 11 and are a bit different than the original Jr. Suites you'll find on Freedom. This particular Suite is room 1104. See how they laid out this the room and of course answer - Would we stay in this room again???
This will be our 2nd Freedom cruise going to 8days eastern caribbean..nov 23-dec 1-2024 ..I don't care for this updated JS ..we will be in cabin 9268 deck 9. Like older JS better. Last nov 4-11th 2023 did Radiance of seas with friends, LOVED that ship decor, elegance, we stayed in GS 1060 balcony was HUGE and cabin beautiful. We got great deal using husband's RCCL credit card as this cruise will be using points. Difference between GS and JS price on this trip over $2800 extra and for us on this trip would rather save $2800. Thank you for providing the video to give us ideas. I don't like the step up on tubs or to balconies I get clumsy stub toes easily and I do not drink espresso's. I do not like ship coffee/bitter/strong so I drink hot chocolate instead. Oh closets seem excessive ..like older JS I do like walk in closets so that's nice touch. I can't wait til we cruise in Nov /thanksgiving cruise getting away on awesome vacatiion for us. @@CruisesRoomsReviews quick question. Since coffee so bitter what is your suggestion is cafe promenade better coffee or MDR? how is MDR food and windjammer? heard really good. Radiance had best buffet so far(windjammer) and almost better than MDR. MDR food tended to be bland ..fish & southern fried chicken was excellent. Others bland.
I love Freedom, probably my favorite ship so far out of the 5 ships I've been on.

We stayed on the opposite side in September. First junior suite. Loved the location. Love the balcony. Did not know about the reflection. Shower had good pressure. Cons. I did not like fighting with shower curtain when in the shower and I found the balcony door really hard to open.
How was the room movement; was it very noticeable?
I think the water pressure was something in our unit, as the tub water flowed strong. Thanks for letting us know about your experience!
Did not notice any movements. But it is just a short cruise to the Bahamas. The ocean was calm.
Great review, thank you. We are booked in 1106 on Indy in April. That balcony glass used to be solid. This area was originally part of the spa, so that was the glass window wall in that section of the spa. They just removed that middle glass pane. Also why there is a solid metal ceiling. That used to be an interior ceiling in the spa. That may also be part of the reason for the lower water pressure. That area was not originally plumbed for cabin water. The supply to that area may not be sufficient for the water draw from the cabins. I’ll try to comment again next April to let you know how much of what you found is consistent in the same area of another ship in that class.

Follow up. The Indy cabin (1106) was great. No problems with water pressure, and we did not experience the echo that you noticed on the balcony. 1106 is the one closest to the Solarium, so only had a cabin on one side. They kept the curtains closed and never turned on the balcony light so no reflection, but definitely see how it could be an issue. All in all a good cabin. We would book these rooms again.
Do all Junior Suites on this cruise have the shampoo, conditioner and bodywash I wonder?🤔 That would be amazing! Less items to pack.
Hi. Yes…All JR Suites and above on Freedom should come with upgraded amenities.
Thank YOU Matt for bringing up the "echo chamber" sound effect of these staterooms. While they are very neat and would be fabulous to have with neighbors you are traveling with, we would not opt to stay in them due to noise issues. For me going out to a balcony equates to peace and relaxation thus not a fit for me but NTL this video is great and really properly depicts the pro's and con's. I was on this ship and the panoramic ocean view on 12th floor was the exact same layout except instead of the balcony there was a panoramic view. Strange that the suite was the same size of my room and set up exactly the same.
Definitely want to try out one of those rooms sometime.

Hi. We didn’t feel any movement out of the ordinary, but it was for a quick weekend cruise, so not a large sample set of nights. Could have been a smooth sailing! 😀
