I checked in your video description and watched the entire video through but did not see any mention of sponsorship. Did you pay full retail or is this bit of kit supplied in part or entirely as sponsorship? Thanks for answering as it will provide transparency. Cheers
Good choice for the tank. You should be able to get up into outback NSW now and before long SA and Qld should open up. There is plenty to see in outback NSW especially the Sturt National Park.
150L is a good amount, and this is a much better idea than carrying Jerry Cans around in the back or on the roof racks (especially as you are Petrol/Gas and not Diesel).
Great video, Dan. I love that it has a drain plug because I'd be nervous that I'd be in the middle of nowhere and the transfer pump packed up. Great to know there is a fail-safe. Is that a pretty standard off-the-shelf pump that you could pickup anywhere or is it specific to the company?
The American link doesn’t show anything available. This is exactly what I need on my Gladiator. Having to stop every 300 miles for fuel isn’t ideal on a long road trip.
Did you decide on the heavy duty version with 4mm bash plate or the standard 3mm? Empty weight is 39kg+, so it is heavier than 2 full jerry cans. While jerry cans are a pain, I'm not sure I can go past 4 jerry cans when I need to and otherwise top up the main tank at every opportunity.
Great explainer on the aux tank. I really like this one over the old one you had on the Jk as it keeps it low down and out of the way. Also, did you move to just 1 video a week?
@@TheRoadChoseMe Wonder if The Long Ranger would make a 150L/40 gallon replacement tank for a carburated/TBI/modern V8/period correct or modern desiel in a Square Body K5 Blazer, I will email them, Dan thanks for your directive insight.
At like 12 minutes I was like.. .. Is he gonna install this thing?! Then I got it.... You got a free tank in return for a commercial. Cool. But damnit man, could you have shortened it up a bit. I kinda like your style but honestly, this "build" is waaaaaaaaay drawn out and getting boring.
@@Rkbrown88 his first sentence was I'm going to install this on my gladiator. He didn't. At the end of the video it's still on the bench. Would have been better if he was honest and said he's going to talk about it for 16 minutes and make another video and then install it.
@@Rkbrown88 I respect that. Everyone's different. In my opinion there's sooooo many interesting overland vehicle builds out there right now, moving along quickly and far, far superior to this one. A build is not what makes Dan's channel interesting. It's the wild places he goes and how he explores them. Backwatching his older videos was great. But the past year has been a whole lotta talk and very little action. I don't have time to follow a lot of people so I have to pick some interesting few. Unfortunately this one is getting to be sleep inducing compared to others. Heck, Matt's offroad recovery built "The Moorvair", the coolest offroad machine you'll see, while Dan's been talking and putting canvas on a stock Gladiator. Don't wanna necessarily be insulting, just my honest thoughts.
I am with you Tom.... I expected him to actually install it... But nope.... And yes more and more videos that have a lot of talking but not much else in em...
Thursdays are my fave, a new road chose me and foresty forest video!
Foresty forest 👌👌👌
I didn't know about foresty forest -- thanks for the recommendation, friend!
I have a long ranger in my Tacoma, good product. Wish i had coated it prior to installation as it rusted with the oem paint.
great choice

Yep awesome product. I ordered a long ranger a month ago for my Fj , I’ve got about another 9 weeks to wait for it 😂
Love my long range tank on my Jeep. Doesn't have the separate fill, but haven't had any issues.
Awesome, looking great with that build
Appreciate the video!
Thanks for another great video 😎👍
Wow - AWESOME...!!

You’re such a tease 👍🏽
Did you look at the Browndavis one? Thanks
The Long Ranger did everything I needed and was flawless. I read bad reviews of leaking on the Browndavis

It's a pretty standard little 12v inline pump.
4:45 what a neat gas filler.
I don't know why, but nobody makes an aux tank for a gasser Ram. Only diesel tanks. With 31.5 G OE tanks, Ram could use some aux tank love.
Yay!
How you chose which tank your are feeling are it work

Contact them, they do a group buy from time to time.
I’m in USA can it be purchased here
If so how
Yep - contact these guys, they do a group buy from time to time: westcoastoffroaders.com/
Someone please make a tank for my YJ 😭 nobody makes one that goes under the car

Mine is the heavy duty version, and it was 36.5kg sitting on the scales ready to install.
I wish they made this for Diesel.
Sadly there is simply nowhere to put it on the ecodiesels. The exhaust takes up all the space

Thanks 👍 & yep, currently making one video a week because I'm spending so much time in the shed working on the Jeep!

Great video except you said you were going to install it. It's still sitting on the bench LOL
Dont move the camera on the drone like that, it detatches the viewer from the video. Aim for nice smooth shots.

I’d say you’re way off base with this entire comment. Couldn’t disagree more

If he can talk that long about it. Imagine how.long the video will be, actually installing the tank...🙄🤦♂️⏳⌛
