It is normal and reasonable for a company to earn profits, but this year NV did it a bit too much on the 40s. I would rather keep using my 3060ti for my 1440p and wait for the 50s releases.
@@casualpcreviews Personally and rationally speaking, I ran some tests on my 3060ti with 4060 16G and 4060ti 8G from my friend's pcs, so it is not that bad for old cards(20s or even 10s) users to buy 4060s if they stick with 1080p and always play games that do not demand more than 8G VRAM, for the next few years, cause in games like 2077, I found out 4060s actually do better than the 3060s especially when you turn on the DLSS and RT setting, but when it comes to 1440p, well, a whole different story then thanks to Mr Wong cut the bits lol. And yes, VRAM seems more and more important considering new titles pushing the consumption of VRAM in games, 8G would not last long, so if buying 4060s is a must, choosing 16g would be wiser.
If your motherboard is equipped with PCI-E 3.0, then the difference will be even more significant, since when the video buffer is full, the RAM is used, and the 4060ti is limited to only 8 PCI lanes
It really depends on the game. Some settings won't get over 8Gbyte anyway then the difference is about one fps. If there is.... And then you have Hogwarts Legacy, who loves memory, and will gobble up whatever you can give it. Which does runs so much better if it isn't stuck with only 8gbyte.

How was the 8 gb getting better readings? Also, would the ram in the pc be stacked with the ram in the gpu? For instance if I had 32 gb of ram in the pc, would that supersede the gpu’s ram?
The 8 and 16GB variants of the 4060 Ti performance very similar. You will only see the difference in games that allocate and use more than 8GB Vram. Some games will crash others will run terribly once they run out of Vram. RAM and Vram do not stack. They serve different purposes. RAM in general handles the main processing functions of your computers and applications so you can quickly access data and information. Vram handles graphics and video rendering.

@@sobangcha3042 you have a few options. 6700 XT/6750 XT, 7700 XT, 4060 Ti 16 GB, 6800 XT, or 7800 XT. If you are able to save a little more, I would go for the 6800 XT or 7800 XT. The success of the 7800 XT (price wise ) will shift prices of the other similar priced GPU.

Radeon only beats it on older games without either DLSS/RTX, but those games usually run very well anyways. You only need 16GB variant for 4K, but for that you'd really need a $1000 GPU anyways. For 1080p/1440p the 8GB variant is competitive. 🎉
Don't get laptop with that specs it runs terrible because in laptop the pc decreases 10fps less get a laptop with 3060 ti way better if your on a budget

Also Vram is a lot faster than system memory. You can't really rely on your ram to do the job of the vram. It causes terrible stuttering
