great video! just replaced my wifes on her 2010 that blew. Lexus dealer gave us a discount on parts after telling them the situation/year. This shouldve been recalled but oh well.... Video was super helpful. I would recommend pulling more studs if you have clearance issues. Its easy enough to pop them back in. All in I'd say 1hr-2hr job
same problem on my 2009, mine was recalled but the recall expired in 2018 and I'm the second owner just bought the car a couple months ago really wish the last guy took it in for free.
Like you said, those rubber coolant pipe are notorious for breaking after a while and the oil will just leak out and ruining the engine. Glad you got it done. Those Lexus at that generation is of good quality except for that one part. Glad you changed it to the metal!
This is why I don't like Lexus service anymore. They will replace this for free if it is still under warranty period. The catch is if you knew about it.
Sorry about that. Here it is. www.ebay.com/itm/203310597386?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=eA7DYX_PTCq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=Sp2kcc-2SwO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I remove the bolts from the studs and upon re-assembling a stud I over torque one of the studs with a 6 mm socket, causing the sump pan housing area to break now I got a replace the sump pan. careful cross threading here because it’s tricky and it’s a tight area.
What size and length 12mm socket did you use for that bottom bolt on the stud on the right side? I just got a gearwrench 1/4 inch mid length socket set, but im not sure if the hole in the socket is large enough for top of the stud. Probably a 3 /8 mid length socket would have a large hole so it would not bottom out.
Thanks I saw that too when i removed mine I used this : DICMIC Engine Oil Cooler Hose Line Lower Pipe Assembly from amazon got it used/new for 22 dollars had to bend a little but it worked ty for your knowledge

I would love to know how many people out there with the same cars I’ve never had these hoes blow. Multiple Lexus and Toyota vehicle. 300,000 miles and no mention of. Oil is blowing or replacing with metal.
Great video! Camera work and explanation were excellent, just what I needed! Thumbs up, many thanks!

@@SuburbanRanchdo you know if the 2013s RX350 had rubber hoses or were they upgraded from the factory?
@accobra4272 2013 should already have the metal lines. I believe 2012 was the first year with metal lines.
@@SuburbanRanch ok thank you!
THANK GOD! I recently got the 2012 and at least I don't have to worry about this @@SuburbanRanch

Yikes, sorry to hear that!
How urgent is it to change the part? Can I make a 10-hour trip without any problem?
Can we do it using jack to lift the car and go under like DIY job or really need to lift car all the way up for this job
they are dam tight , i had to cut a 12 mm deepwell in half to get one bolt and yes remove studs to onstall new one

I can’t recall if it was 1/4 or 3/8 drive, I would recommend having both on hand!
Will this drain all of the oil and i have to replace oil after install?
I did it during an oil change. I don’t think you would lose all of the oil, but you will certainly lose some and need to top it off.
Does the 05 RX 330 have rubber lines like this that should be replaced?
Great video! Thanks!
Question: how do you know that the protrusion on the gaskets face the pipes? can't find that anywhere else ty
I compared it to the original that I removed.
Thanks I saw that too when i removed mine I used this : DICMIC Engine Oil Cooler Hose Line Lower Pipe Assembly from amazon got it used/new for 22 dollars had to bend a little but it worked ty for your knowledge
On my 2010 RX350, the protrusion was facing “in” toward the engine. 🤷
I drilled a hole in the cross member to get to tha hard bolt
Does anyone know if RX 350, 2015 has a rubber pipe on oil cooler?
Have any videos on replacing motor and transmission mounts? 1992 k2500 5.7 4x4. Thanks
We don’t. Sorry.
Where could I find new bolts for this part? The bolts I have are rusted and stripped
Any hardware store
What is removing and replacing time
3hrs but we went kinda slow
Thanks
Does this affect the 2013 model year Lexus rx350
I think it was fixed by 2013
How much oil is lost during this upgrade?
Not sure, I changed the oil at the same time.
From what I hear, it's about 1/2 to maybe a quart. 👍 Thanks.
Any reason to not replace studs with bolts?
No need to!
What’s the Lexus part number for the metal replacement part? Thanks!
There’s a link to it in the video description.
