I'll be honest, when I first saw the horizon playlist I just read through everything with text, then tried clicking on all of the different secitions and within an hour by trial and error I completely understood it. It's just a matter of trying what interactions there are and testing what they do, as well as reading all available text.

Hopefully this will get people to start using Horizon Arcade. I’m constantly in sessions by myself or with one other person, and they’re basically impossible with 1-2 people.
Same i try soloed but is impossible you need a lot of people, i can do the 1st round on any event, but the 2nd and last are abysmal for solo, and for the "golden" part of the arcade you´ve to finish all 3 rounds (so it gets completed in the FPL), round 1 or 2 nope.
They need to make the difficulty scale to the number of players at least a little bit. It shouldn't be literally impossible for me to complete a round by myself, or they shouldn't let it start or continue with only one player.
This video really cleared some confusion to me. I never played fh4 that much so I'm basically new to fh5 now that I have understanding of the live season I hope I can get some cars at least
I am also completely new to fh5 and all car games in general, I've always been an FPS kind of guy, this was very helpful, now if only I could find a how to race, how to tune and how to drift tutorial I'd be set
@@lukestewart238 I only played Call of Duty from like MW2 until Black Ops 3 haha - but one thing at a time. Start with all driving assists on, and slowly take some off as you get a feel for the game.
The menu is pretty overwhelming at first glance, but it's a huge improvement over FH4. Even the "daily" challenges being active for several days makes it feel like I don't have to rush and grind out everything quick so I don't miss out. I also like the variety of options for gaining points. The menu would be cleaned up a bit but I think it's a welcome change! Edit: Just watched the part about restrictions on the PR stunts... I am not a fan of that! I don't have too much time to play the game so buying and upgrading cars for each stunt will take a lot of time.
While I feel for you not having enough time, personally I like the restrictions. It encourages me to not just have one car made to max out each type of stunt. Having to get cars for each stunt makes it a new challenge each time instead of just fast travelling over and doing the stunt. Not being elitist here, I just think it is a fact that Forzathon takes a time commitment that not everyone can meet. I do wish you could go back through old ones, but they understandably want everyone trying to do the same challenges each week to keep players closer to each other.
The complexity is obnoxious. Menus are just box within boxes within boxes which is a well known design fail. You've failed at game design if users need to find resources on the internet to understand anything...
I like that they don't force you anymore to do PvP. You can get enough point easily to get both cars without doing PvP. Well assuming they will fix the arcade. Because at the moment is unplayable. I tried the Horizon Arcade at least 15 times through different time of the day but I never had a single teammate. 1 thing i would like to see is the game ability to use both measure system. My country uses the metric system I don't know how far is 1500ft. It would be good to see these without the need to use a converter constantly on my phone.
Oh really? So is it possible to obtain everything offline or is some challenges mandatory for use of online access ? I haven't got the game yet so i was just wondering...
Agreed, did an arcade about the same amount as you have and cant get finish 3rd round, there needs to be a way for them to add scaling of players to points per round
@@bDz416 I think you might need to be online for some I'm pretty sure you can do some offline it's hard to say without playing 100% offline meaning no updates installed because if you had no updates installed in fh4 there was no playlist because it wasn't released yet at launch but there is in fh5 so my best guess is that yes you can do some offline but some involve playing with other players the really good cars usually involve some player vs player challenges
I've given up trying to do these. Every time i think i have the right kind of car and right class, it's always wrong and i'm stuck doing the same speedtrap 20 times and getting nowhere.
It's really specific. If it says, for example 'S1 900 Retro Muscle' it will have to be exactly that, not 899 or 898 or whatever, it will need to have a rating of precisely 900.
@@Outland9000 which is why I don't do these challenges. I don't want to have to change my car up just to get some rewards. I like customizing my cars the way I like and leaving them be.
@@MrCoderwhite Yes, it is a pain in the ass to meet a very specific set of requirements for any given challenge. And they are all different, it wouldn't be so bad if each season was a different requirement. For example if *_all_* winter challenges required an A 800 rally car for example. I wouldn't mind so much building for an exact requirement if I could use it in all of each seasons challenges.
@@MrCoderwhite let’s be honest most of the cars these challenges use aren’t cars that we personally use so it really doesn’t matter just go to the tune section and there is always a tune that says seasonal and after you finish the challenge just get rid of the tune
Thanks for this, I found all the menus and events pretty daunting. Also the fact that it changes the difficulty to 'highly skilled' explains why I've come nowhere close to winning that race yet.
Thank you for this. For such an incredible game, I find it amazing the developers didn't create a guided story to explain this whole feature. It would have incorporated this into the overall feel and continuity of the game instead of leaving it up to us to find YT videos like this!

A seasonal championship showed up on my map, "No Expense Spared," where the prize is SUPPOSED to be a 2005, Ford GT Supercar... Well, I bought a car to quality, spent a couple hours trying to beat the three races, finally came in first for all three and...... didn't win the car??? What a waste of time. I must not have enough points or something, thought this was a driving game, not a mystery game.
So I completed a circuit, came in first all 3 races, in the specified vehicle, and didn't get credit for it at all.... Anyone else? So annoying, I would totally grind the seasonal challenges but not if it's gonna bug out and not give credit..
I had similar issues last night but just watched the video and realized I never knew there were car restrictions to complete them. Going to try again and make sure I'm meeting all the requirements
think theres a bug with the races because I did the classic muscle car races and the hot hatch race, came in first and used one of the allowed cars on the list with the restricted class and still didn't get the points. I've restarted the game, tried doing it online and offline and nothing. Spent about 300k upgrading and everything only to not get the rewards
happened to me too..just don't change anything and don't get 2nd place in all..need 1st in 3 events to get the car.. now am stuck on winning exhibition

@@stevio2175 it may be kicking your teammates. Many times I have had people all around me at the beginning only to end up by myself when the round actually started. A couple of times I had one or two people make it to the second round with me but they still disappeared before we could get very far. I think the lobby system is just broken, cars are always just disappearing around me like we all keep switching lobby.
Appreciate this, I hate this system so much it's the opposite of engaging. I know most players just skip it because of how bad the UI/organization/explanation is. I might actually try one of these after owning the game forever now, lol

You’re welcome. So you know, there are tons of cars in the game you don’t have to do the playlist for - and all cars come back around eventually if you miss them. Plus, they can be at the auction house too. Don’t let it scare you away! Just have fun!
I'm only halfway through the video and I feel like.. really? It is ridiculous that doing the seasonal races don't give you seasonal points. Who's bright idea was that? I thought the game was supposed to be having fun driving not completing a restrictive list. I've already encountered matches where I didn't have the car so eyes are by a garbage one from the shop or just don't do it at all. I've gone through the speed zones where it tells you wrong car. It's pretty loony and I think they went a bit overzealous with it. I'm having a total blast with the game but having to watch a video to find out how to season progresses means that they utterly failed Constantly checking the list to do very specific things when you're trying to have balls out driving fun just doesn't make sense. Just like in part 4, I did 100 races and I had 0% season completion. WTF
So I'm trying to do the festival Playlist, I have 9 pts. Every event I do it says I earned more points, but when I go back and look, it still says 9 pts. I've been doing events for two days and nothing changes lol. How do you earn points lol
@@bDz416 no, when you spin a wheel spin and you get a car you already have it gives you the option to take the duplicate, gift it to another player, or sell it for credits. I always sell my cheap useless duplicates and gift all the forza editions and expensive cars if I already have it.
@@fawkinwanka3051 figured it out. There are 2 other races that pop up when you do emerald circuit but they will disappear if you do anything else. Basically after you complete the first race go fine the other flags that are the same color as the one you did
Thank you for that 👍 Quick question... one of the daily challenges seems to be broken for me, which is the "Complete a Showcase Event" challenge. I've gone ahead and re-completed 3 of them and the playlist will not acknowledge it. Any idea what could be happening there? Also, I'm not sure I fully understand Arcade. Ive done it a handful of times trying to complete the task in the playlist. So far, it pretty much just tells me to drift back and forth between two locations, and when time runs out, it says I failed.
For showcase, either do one you haven’t completed yet, OR come in 2nd place. It’s bugged. We just on stream completed a first arcade.. you 100% need a full team
How do you know which series Championship you have active? When I go to play a race it says “this will end your championship and all unsaved progress will be lost” - what championship am I in? How do I know how much progress i have?
Thanks for the lowdown, Stevio. I did wonder if points were used on one car whether they were gone or still counted towards the other car? I did a rivals round, had it flagged, but still got the points, maybe a glitch? Did a whole arcade drifting on my own to like one mill points but still got zero overall and that remains to be done again. Nevertheless It’s enjoyable finding out how everything fits together. in this flawed masterpiece of a game!

does this mean they add 10 new cars every 28 days? or are they reusing existing cars for the rewards? and is the only way to get past rewards through the auction house?

I just completed one challenge from autumn season that should give me one horizon wheel spin and it didn't. The photo isn't gold covered like in FH4 or something like that that means you have completed something. It is broken or what? Do you guys have the same?
The restrictions are the hardest part for me. So basically I can ONLY use the car shown to complete the goal for points?? Even when it does show multiple vehicles for VIEW ELIGIBLE CARS, beating the challenge with one only says INCORRECT CAR USED. I'm still lost and honestly this system sucks
Hall of fame didn't take that long, I beat the entire game in about 4 days. I just gotta go back and get all the extra accolades for stuff. Had a awesome play threw of it tho.

Okay, whenever i open forzathon shop, game says "the shop cant be downloaded at the moment try again later" and I'm playing since day one, does anyone know how to fix it...I'm on PC.
I cant own nearly a single of this cars in real life... I hate it that they limit theese like in reallife. It makes no sense. For what i play a game if even there iam not able to get my dream car without problems? Games are a part time job already. Such mechanics should be forbidden...
You can get any car you want if you play the game.. if you find gaming to be a “part time job” - I’d consider finding a new hobby, something you actually enjoy.. because games aren’t supposed to be like that. They’re supposed to be fun
The festival playlist just got me confused. I completed every single challenge, collected both cars, got all the rewards etc. ...but now im in offline mode and there is another playlist. But this one only gives 10k Credits for every challenge and instead of cars, you collect points for 2 wheelspins. The forzathon challenges are also uncompleted. Is it worth doing this?
So events cant be repeated? This is a shame. I only found about this a week ago now I'm finding out there will be no way for me to earn enough points to get the Mclaren F1.
Possibly if the car is very iconic, but otherwise I’d say no since 26 points isn’t hard to get. They used to put them as 80% in FH4 which was way too much grinding per week, especially with the annoying 3 day timer per forzathon.
My biggest question that wasn’t answered is when these end are the cars gone forever. I haven’t been doing these challenges and the series is almost over does that mean I won’t be able to get any of these cars again??
Im not even new to series and this game never gives me what i earned i can never unlock the cars some kind of glitch maybe i prefer the older cars so i just buy them in auction house if i can

You should check if you have the Alpine and NSX, I’d like to know if it gave them to you anyway. Moving forward though, there is a playlist history, so you shouldn’t ever have the issue again
@@stevio2175 I did not, although the playlist has a “1” on it in menu indicating that the is something to collect but the series history does not show last week. No big, just wish they had made some instructions or a little less like a Rube Goldberg machine.
Okay this was a great video! As a relatively new Forza player (started not too long ago in 4) the game seemed really overwhelming, I never fully understood how the playlists work, hell a bit ago before this I thought I could get all of the points at once, I really want the F1, it's a great advantage too since I can get a few cool cars too

I joined 1 event and it was a drift event on a semi straight. It wanted about 3 mil drift points. I was solo. You can guess i didn't complete it lol
I managed to somehow get into a horizon life convoy with some friends and complete one yesterday. First one after I tried probably 20 times.

I'm kind of mixed about the Festival Playlist. It's like Playground Games expects players to play this game every day or something
Only need a couple hours for an entire week. They even made dailies last a week.
I just like playing offline, can I still get the rewards and vehicles or do I have to play online? I don't like playing competitively

When you win cars in wheelspins that you already own will you be able to sell them for half credits like in FH4?
Yes you can, or you get the option to gift drop the car to another player!

@@bDz416 no, when you spin a wheel spin and you get a car you already have it gives you the option to take the duplicate, gift it to another player, or sell it for credits. I always sell my cheap useless duplicates and gift all the forza editions and expensive cars if I already have it.

@@fawkinwanka3051 figured it out. There are 2 other races that pop up when you do emerald circuit but they will disappear if you do anything else. Basically after you complete the first race go fine the other flags that are the same color as the one you did

Thank you for that 👍 Quick question... one of the daily challenges seems to be broken for me, which is the "Complete a Showcase Event" challenge. I've gone ahead and re-completed 3 of them and the playlist will not acknowledge it. Any idea what could be happening there?
Also, I'm not sure I fully understand Arcade. Ive done it a handful of times trying to complete the task in the playlist. So far, it pretty much just tells me to drift back and forth between two locations, and when time runs out, it says I failed.
For showcase, either do one you haven’t completed yet, OR come in 2nd place. It’s bugged. We just on stream completed a first arcade.. you 100% need a full team
So, idk if its just me, but ive done 3 required races, and the game gave me 1 point. And ive came in 1st place in each race.

How do you know which series Championship you have active? When I go to play a race it says “this will end your championship and all unsaved progress will be lost” - what championship am I in? How do I know how much progress i have?
I’ve completed challenges but the progress isn’t showing, no car restrictions and maxed out the 3 star on the jump… not completed, no points 😢

Thanks for the lowdown, Stevio. I did wonder if points were used on one car whether they were gone or still counted towards the other car? I did a rivals round, had it flagged, but still got the points, maybe a glitch? Did a whole arcade drifting on my own to like one mill points but still got zero overall and that remains to be done again. Nevertheless It’s enjoyable finding out how everything fits together. in this flawed masterpiece of a game!

i don’t understand i just did one of the playlist activities and i made sure it was against highly skilled drivatars and i completed it and didnt get any points
does this mean they add 10 new cars every 28 days? or are they reusing existing cars for the rewards? and is the only way to get past rewards through the auction house?
They add new cars every series, and can bring some old ones back
I just recently bought the 5th game I love it but I don't have internet at my house we're supposed to get it put in soon but I was curious how many things does this game require you to do while being hooked up to the Internet because that's what would kill me where I don't have internet or Wi-Fi how many things could I actually do

exact playlists probably not, but exclusive cars usually come back in future playlists at some point

I just completed one challenge from autumn season that should give me one horizon wheel spin and it didn't. The photo isn't gold covered like in FH4 or something like that that means you have completed something. It is broken or what? Do you guys have the same?

The restrictions are the hardest part for me. So basically I can ONLY use the car shown to complete the goal for points?? Even when it does show multiple vehicles for VIEW ELIGIBLE CARS, beating the challenge with one only says INCORRECT CAR USED. I'm still lost and honestly this system sucks
Any cars that are eligible can be used. Some cars won’t show up because they need to be upgraded or downgraded to be eligible
Just started on on Forza Horizon 5, so have barley any cars. What do I do for those activities which require specific vehicle?
You’ll have to save up and buy them, finding good tunes is very helpful as well
Hall of fame didn't take that long, I beat the entire game in about 4 days. I just gotta go back and get all the extra accolades for stuff. Had a awesome play threw of it tho.

You can get any car you want if you play the game.. if you find gaming to be a “part time job” - I’d consider finding a new hobby, something you actually enjoy.. because games aren’t supposed to be like that. They’re supposed to be fun
Can you upgrade cars in the seasonal championship? Like if you have an A class 119 car could you make it a A class 167 car?

The festival playlist just got me confused. I completed every single challenge, collected both cars, got all the rewards etc. ...but now im in offline mode and there is another playlist. But this one only gives 10k Credits for every challenge and instead of cars, you collect points for 2 wheelspins. The forzathon challenges are also uncompleted. Is it worth doing this?
No, sometimes it messes up. Restart game you should see the normal car rewards

Possibly if the car is very iconic, but otherwise I’d say no since 26 points isn’t hard to get. They used to put them as 80% in FH4 which was way too much grinding per week, especially with the annoying 3 day timer per forzathon.

My biggest question that wasn’t answered is when these end are the cars gone forever. I haven’t been doing these challenges and the series is almost over does that mean I won’t be able to get any of these cars again??
You can sometimes find these cars at the auction house, but if you miss cars, they all come back again… eventually

You should check if you have the Alpine and NSX, I’d like to know if it gave them to you anyway. Moving forward though, there is a playlist history, so you shouldn’t ever have the issue again
@@stevio2175 I did not, although the playlist has a “1” on it in menu indicating that the is something to collect but the series history does not show last week. No big, just wish they had made some instructions or a little less like a Rube Goldberg machine.
Okay this was a great video! As a relatively new Forza player (started not too long ago in 4) the game seemed really overwhelming, I never fully understood how the playlists work, hell a bit ago before this I thought I could get all of the points at once, I really want the F1, it's a great advantage too since I can get a few cool cars too
