  • Canon at the twelfth with inversion at the octave.
    Around 1742 Bach made a fair copy of a then untitled work comprising 14 movements of which this canon is part. It was not until 1747 that Bach formulated the title Die Kunst der Fuge [The Art of Fugue].

      @mutecaprice: Understand the character of the piece! Don't play it slow just because there's no tempo indication!

      So that's what music is all about- technical ability? Play it fast because you can? The excuse is playing it fast because you have nothing to say with the music. A pretty sad state in my opinion.

      @Biber0315: Obviously you're shallow in music, study the character of the notes in Bach as most often Bach don't indicate tempo!
