Wow, beautiful! The description says you arranged it, too… How much "arrangement" did this take compared to the original music? Is that "just" a matter of translating one of the violin parts to cello (that alone would be a lot of work for me, even if I played cello or violin), or was it more involved?
That's a great question! It was a really interesting challenge. The two violins aren't playing the entire time, so I was also looking at the orchestra parts and figuring out which parts were most important and how to toss the lines back and forth between the violin and cello. And of course some things were pretty awkward on the cello, so I had to do some reassigning of parts where it needed it.
@@cicelyparnas - Ah, so it _was_ a lot more complex! The final result sounds completely smooth and natural, like that's the way Bach wrote it and intended it, so I think you did an amazing job on the _entire_ project! Very impressive!

You are a wonderful cellist. I hope I don't find this question offensive, but your'e so expressive and you look like you might cry sometimes while playing. Is this because the music brings you to tears and those emotions?
I'm pretty unaware of what my face is doing while I'm playing, but I it's what my face does when I'm trying really hard. It takes a lot of concentration to record full takes! Thanks for watching!

What a delight. I played both parts as a violinist for decades. Of course, playing my part, i never had the delight of hearing the other part on cello. You both add something special with this imaginative arrangement. I gather it's a specialty. I assume your grandfather ( I am guessing by the names you are both his grandchildren) was properly proud of your continuing his fabulous legacy. Chapeau bas!
