That's what they said about Borodin's string quartet too. Nothing in music can really be compared in my opinion. Making a top 100 is a very human construct of the brain. The truth is that all these pieces are different colors that have to be seen in their own context. But I very much agree that the Berceuse is among my personal favourites here too.
I can't express how happy this posting makes me feel. I totally love Gliere, his Träumereien is my favorite piece ever. Russian music teachers love to use his pieces for training, though I find he's not that widely known outside of the post-Soviet region. All the more joy to find him here!

@@guidemeChrist if the listener doesn’t know the position of the barline, then their experience is that of a gavotte. I would argue that the music is more important than its graphic approximation. Brahms, for example, often reprises the same materials in different positions relative to the barline within the same movement. (One example is the C Minor string quartet’s second movement.)
If I were performing it I would probably alter the order of some of the pieces, and not necessarily play all of them. Wonder how the "Etude" might sound if it were played as single, rather than doubled notes? Less frantic, in any case.
The Berceuse is probably the most beautiful piece of music ever written
I agree it’s so beautiful! I really like the canzonetta a lot too
Definitely not.. Not even top 1000

I like the way you think, kid.

That arco in the etude, where it's supposed to be pizz, hurts my soul
Nice!
Playing this on violin with a friend, extremely fun and it sounds beautiful
I love the violinist's sound
I absolutely love the berceuse! It’s so incredibly beautiful
I’m playing movements 1,2,3,7 for a recital on next week, beautiful piece.
how did it go??
How was it? Are you a cellist as well?
Where's number 4?? That's the best
Love the prelude it sounds Erie and magical.

I'm learning the transcription for Viola and Cello for these pieces and I rlly like :)
This is rather late, but if you don't mind, can I have the transcription? I'm a violist as well and I'd really appreciate it :)

What a nice piece thank you for uploading
I love the gavotte so much I learned the violin part ...now I just need to find a cellist
Then your perfect for each other hwheheh
@@antoninavivaldino6253 Oh my lawdee 😂😭I hope y’a find one or you can transpose it then play the violin part as well
danke
the gavotte slaps
This is lovely
He's my favourite genius composer, I like his melodic and harmonic unpredictability.
FML I really have 2 days to learn this whole thing?!?! Before I play it for an audience. (Backstory.. they never give us the music until the week of)
I’m learning this piece
There’s multiple pieces
brilliant!
Nice pizzicato at 16:57
oof!
Magnifico.
Very much Schumann in these pieces
Unique!
Ослепительно хорош.....
Thanks for posting! Can I ask where you found the detailed information about the work? I'm researching it for a recital.
The impromptu 🍂🍁
Muito bonito!❤
interesting how Gavotte is written with the barline in middle of the sounding 4/4 measure
Yeah I noticed that too! Sounds normal to listen to, but makes it an interesting challenge to read haha
Gavottes have half-4/4-bar pickups; it’s what defines the whole genre
@@mylesjordan9970 in that case this isn't a gavotte, it clearly starts on beat 1

Hello! I'm from Russia! Infortunately, I have to tell you, Gliere is less known composer in our country, he's better known in Ukraine and Azerbaijan
@@darrinsiberia He's Ukrainian...
@yusefalakhras1599 -- Here in Acapulco we adore his Second Symphony.....привет и еще раз привет !
I have definitely heard Bach, and perhaps a bit of Scott Joplin?
Does anyone have any idea where I can buy a score of this? I can't find a published score anywhere just individual parts
wish there was a more glamorous ending

omg the intermezzo would have deserved a little coda on Tonic pedal !
Vaguely reminds me of Bach, anyone else hears it?
The gavotte sounds so baroque
Where is the sheet music
😍❤️❤️❤️
Where can I find those sheets for free online?
Go to imslp. It's for music free of copyright.
Where can I buy these?
16:58 pizz. Not arco
Yes, but violinist probably liked it better arco in this context. I agree.
Looks like they took that pizz and stuck it on the end
It's entirely possible they are using a different edition.
Don't you have something better to do? (says the one procrastinating his English essay with reading youtube comments)
@@cellokid5104 Yeah, watching someone procrastinating for all the thing, witnessing the creation of a procrastination hero 😉
