Rock Drops and Pow at Mammoth Mountain - POV

- Episode 02 of my RAW POV series from this winter! This time I'm riding along with friends featuring Eric Adler, Zadia Larouche, and special cameo appearance by @ChrisburkardStudio ! We had a great powder day finding fresh snow and jumping off random things! If you have any questions shoot them in the comments below! Hope you enjoy and stay tuned for more.

This was all shot in a single day at Mammoth in December 2022.
This video was shot entirely on GoPro.
The POV was shot with GoPro Max using these settings:
Res: 5.6K-30 (360)
Color: Flat
ISO Min: 100
ISO Max: 400
WB: Auto
Sharpness: Low
The intro and outro was shot on HERO11 Black with these settings:
Res: 5.3K 8:7-30
Color: Natural
10 Bit: On
Bit Rate: HIgh
ISO Min: 100
ISO Max: 1600
WB: Auto
Sharpness: Low
All audio was directly from the cameras with no alterations.

@@mettflow2648 I would say that if you know how to edit like Abe then the GoPro Max is everything you need. Then there's GoPro cloud service and all your GoPro footage in one location. I would put Abe's Max up against anyone using the Insta 360.
@@thomza the x3 is arguably much better camera... what you do with the footage after is a different thing (imo abe's footage is overgraded)

These video's remain some of my favourite ski content out there! Do you usually record with the Max mounted on your helmet or do you use the mount shown at 6:45 more?
Most often is just normal headcam mounted location. That’s most of this video, but occasionally I’ll get fancy
could you show us an indepth-tutorial on your selfmade ( i assume..?) mount for the helmet? loving that pov! would love to know how exactly its mounted and how it works (0:41).

Had a question but im not sure how active you are on your channel at the moment. I was wondering what you would recommend settings wise for a gopro hero5? I use an ND8 filter and I used one of your videos before for the quality I have now which worked amazingly in my videos at the moment. But my gopro reset all the setting and I lost it lol. Appreciate you bro 🤙

What are your import and export settings? I see that YT has the 4k option, but I thought GPMax can only output to 1080

Haha yeah me too! That side gets a lot of wind so there were a lot of wind lips with just rocks and dirt behind them, I kept thinking I would come over one of those knuckles straight to dirt !

Seems like the max360 must do a great job with wind noise, I heard very little.
Abe will the Hero11's fov on hyperview with Max lens mod look similar to GoPro max?
H11 has hyperview, and then there's max lens mod with "max superview". Neither are quite as wide as what you'd get with max. Hyperview is similar to what you'd get with max superview with max lens mod, but more distortion because it's built for 16:9
@@abekislevitz when I tried using Max superview with the mod it seemed like I was capped at 2.7k as opposed to going 5k with hyperview. Does that make sense? Seems like hyperview is the best of both worlds.
@@jakobmihailo yep that’s the downside of max lens, if you think about it, it’s putting a fisheye on the 5K sensor, then you’re cutting out a section of the middle of that, so maximum resolution has to be lower than 5K, aka 2.7k

Is that the mod1 helmet? If so, do you take out the earpads aswell as inner insulation, and what do you have under it? I have the same helmet , and it sticks to the beanie I use
It is! And yeah I take out all the pads and ear flaps. I just wear a thin beanie

Hi Abe 😀 Which Unicorn Mount do you recommend? Do you think it makes sense to put a counterweight on the back of the helmet when using the Unicorn Mount?
Any straight extension will work. I don’t use a counterweight because my helmet has a boa tightening system , but it could be a good idea !

@@abekislevitz Oh wow! I just got the 11 Mini and it certainly does not do nearly as good as the max with the wind noise reduction.

For videos like this are you using Premiere or GoPro app for the initial framing?
