How to hold your hands when running

  • Here are some tips on how to hold your hands when running:
Keep your hands relaxed and loose. Don't clench your fists or grip your hands tightly.
Your fingers should be slightly spread apart, and your thumb should be lightly touching your palm.
Your elbows should be bent at a 90-degree angle, and your forearms should be parallel to the ground.
Your hands should swing forward and back in a smooth, fluid motion. They should not cross your body.
The ideal position for your hands is at waist level or slightly lower.
Here is a visualization technique that can help you find the right hand position: Imagine that you are holding a potato chip in each hand. You don't want to crush the chip, but you also don't want to let it go. This is the amount of tension you should have in your hands when running.
It is important to experiment with different hand positions to find what works best for you. Some runners prefer to have their hands higher, while others prefer them lower. The most important thing is to find a position that feels comfortable and allows you to run smoothly and efficiently.

I just wanna say tysm genuinely for making these videos I was training for a marathon reached 18 miles then broke my foot and ankle in a skateboard accident I was scared I would need surgery and never run again but I listened to the doctors I didn’t end up needing surgery and I was vigilant about stretching for mobility and walking on it once permeated to build strength back these videos kept my eyes on what matters getting back to what I love and I got to a point where the let me out the walking boot/cast to walk around and with form now being more important than ever I re studied your form and I have gotten back to running with zero pain within a week of being out my boot

What does everyone think about while running?
Sometimes i imagine it's the zombie apocalypse and i just have to run to a safe zone. Or when my heart rate is getting higher than I'd like, i imagine I'm sitting on the couch pulling up a blanket and watching tv with family. Recently i started thinking about being on the beach while running, and how much easier it will be to keep up with my kid out there because I've been working on myself.
