will the switch stay in our hearts? of course...if you eat cartridge which will go into your blood stream effecting circulation leading to a heart attack...
XD funny, when you realize they made the cartridge the worst taste on earth, so kids don't eat them. But i am feeling a cartridge eating challenge coming up soon. XD
Jake, just wanted to say, that as a 40 year old gamer that came out the same year as Star Wars, I totally get why you guys do these videos and I LOVE them. I was just having a similar conversation about the advancements in storage space and Internet speed yesterday. When I got my first pc the mb was still a big deal and I was the neighborhood badass because I got the 26mhz DX model with a math co-processor to render archaic 3D graphics with like four polygons. I still have my N64, SNES, and a TurboDuo which is a limited release NEC console that combined the Turbo Graphics 16 with the CD attachment in to one system.
I remember opening Ocarina of Time on Christmas and playing the absolute shit out of it. Currently, I am doing the same thing with Breath of the Wild while my girlfriend is on the third dungeon in OoT. Its amazing to look at the games and see how far we've come. As for anyone griping about how "Underpowered" the switch is... seriously needs to take a step back and look at what its capable of. Can you take any other console on the bus with you? I mean, I'm typically a PC gamer (PCMR til I die) but, if it weren't for Nintendo, I don't think I'd have fallen in love with games the way that I did. 25 years ago, I played Zelda for the first time with Link to the Past and that was it for me. Zelda is my ride or die and because of that, I will always root for Nintendo's success. As for the controllers, I like both. The 64 boasts that familiarity and the Switch, while new, it feels right. Even with my large hands.
I want a dock like in the thumbnail. They could make an N64 dock that has all the games on it like the nes classic but you have to snap in your switch like an old cartridge to play it!
Kristian Berget No, that’d be with a virtual console (Which is probably impossible) Besides, we’ve got the things like Odyssey and BotW, which are WAY better compared to 64 and OoT
You people don't know how to take your nostalgia glasses off. The Switch has only been out a couple of weeks, give it time. I love the N64 too but the Switch is looking like it'll be even better.
Preston Garvay if you buy a Nintendo switch you'll like it better then the n64 also the switch just came out so it's not going to have a lot of games but as time go's on it'll have a lot of games. gosh people just think there childhood is the only thing that matters. >:(
Mario Kart 64 and Goldeneye gave me the best memories of my childhood along with many PS1 games. That will never be beaten as the best thing about playing then was being a child.
I never cared for the idea of Goldeneye until I played it, it was such a departure from the cartoonish style I relied on Nintendo to deliver. I was very surprised with how much I loved it once I did play, and I still break it out from time to time. If I could bottle the feeling of comfort and nostalgia I get from sliding that power button on and watching the title screens flash by, I'd give it away just to watch people have that experience. To know they have something like that in their lives.
Well I get the nostalgia factor. I just wish the N64 had decent 3rd party support like the switch it getting right now. The N64 is great but the you cannot lie about how good the switch is at the moment.
to be very honest it all depends on the next pokemon game. As a huge fan was very dissapointed by Sun and Moon. Hoping the next will be great. Then I might buy the switch.
I don't really understand why everyone moans about the Nintendo switches graphics. I've git a switch and a Xbox one. I think zelda is visually better than almost all my Xbox one games on le battlefield one
because sadly people who play videogames nowadays are not interested in fun or art direction anymore, they are just here to count the pixels and the fps... Do you imagine 10 years ago telling someone "we will have a portable device almost as powerful as a home console, but people will laugh at it because the resolution is a little worst" ? people would not believe it since videogames are GAMES and supposed to be fun, but here we are :(
Your argument fell apart at FPS. You advocate for a game to be fun, but how can someone have fun with a game when the game drops down to an FPS that's almost like slow motion the majority of the time?
MyGamingIsLegal I am aware that there is a drops in frame rate doesn't take away the fact that I enjoy the game. This is the first single player game that I have played that does live up to its own hype.
I owned an N64 from around 1997-2001 (when I upgraded to a Gamecube) and I remember lots of people complaining about the lack of games for the system until around the end of 1998. In fact, I remember many gaming magazines claiming that Nintendo had completely dropped the ball with the N64 (primarly for their decision to stick with cartridges) and was losing the console war to the Playstation. It doesn't seem like it really started to turn around until Zelda: Ocarina of Time was released and now it's interesting to see so many people talking about how great the N64 was. Back then it seemed like most gaming journalists wrote the N64 off as a kid's console, but all of those kids grew up and their positive memories of the system have completely overshadowed the opinions of a few snobby game critics from the late-1990s. Personally, I loved the N64 and many of my greatest gaming memories come from that system. I've only recently purchased a Nintendo Switch (the Switch has finally reached a point where it doesn't just instantly sell out) and I'm looking forward to creating more great memories on this new Nintendo system.
Presuming you have irl friends to do things like that with. Yeah it can be fun to play 4 player goldeneye or mario kart but for some of us that didn't always have access to that the 64 was lacking. Heck even the 3ds with the street pass thing is a turn off. I've yet to get a single one because I don't live in friggin Tokyo or NYC. At least RE Revelations did it right the way it worked in that game.
jo mo I ment the first Mario cart on the n64 as I think they released a few of them...... I had the snes version too..... loved it but was only 2 player
Damn as a kid I remember getting mine at a flea market it was actually still sealed and everything the lady threw in a free game it was Pokémon snap and I enjoyed the hell out of it
Even though the Nintendo Switch wins I don't care old fashion players still will never forget it comment what was your favorite game from the Nintendo 64 mine was paper mario.
Lol at the people trying to bait. Guess Xbone and PS4 fanboys can't accept that the Switch is actually successful, and it wasn't even released during the Holiday season like most consoles. Even with all of its flaws and kinks that the Switch has, Nintendo has all this time between now and December to fix everything and release more games. There are half a dozen games available at launch, including a console seller. Yes, that's less than Xbone and PS4 at their launch, but remember that the Switch did not release during the Holiday season like other consoles did. Instead of delaying the launch even more, they released it as soon as it was ready. They have over 50 games lined up by December, which is more than twice the games the Xbone and PS4 had during their launch in the Holiday season.
redhandsbluefaces Technically they did release it during a season, we like to call it tax season and that's when we either have money to blow or lose some money depending on how much you make a year
Why can't they get like XBox One and the Switch? I mean I have a Wii and a 3DS, but also XBox One. I use XBox to play 3rd-party games and other shit and I use the other two to play Nintendo.
Jude Ceant It's all personal preference, if your friends are on PS4 get it, if your friends are on XB1 get it, if no one has either look at which games you want to play the most
The difference is N64 was greater for its time and will be the most memorable. The Switch is cool and all, but just dust in the wind. Modern is no match for nostalgia
Only Nintendo can get away with entry to mid level graphics and sell millions of console world wide. It's all because they know how to interest you with their games. I do see good games with other consoles but they tend be buried along with their consoles. Unlike, Nintendo... heck we are still talking about the 32-year old NES, Mario, Zelda and their variants. Thank you gameranx for this very interesting video.
PLEASE HELP 'CAUSE I'M CONFUSED I have the option to either buy a PS4 or a Nintendo Switch (either one of them). Neither can I buy both nor can I buy a gaming pc. Nintendo Switch has some good games (emphasis on 'some') but the main attraction is the hardware and how it can *switch* from console to handheld. But with such few games, and most of them childish, it's tough to decide. PS4 on the other hand has a huge library of great games (especially exclusives) that I have grew up with. But Switch is something really different and cool, which I also want to try out. Can someone help me out here?
I had no N64, but I have a Switch - and I can tell you, it's already in my heart. It's practical and sufficiently powerful, and the lineup of games coming is most cool. I love Terraria for example, and that's coming. Minecraft, Skyrim, Puyo Puyo Tetris are just a few other games I'm excited to be seeing in the future. The only thing that's missing so far is Gran Tourismo... ;-)
Christian Breitenstein I wish the switch will also have a racing game besides Mario, with real cars and real tracks. The specs is already sufficient enough to make a good racing game 😀
Fast RMX is okay... but feels way too arcade-y. Compare it to Redout, which is probably the best AG racer out there, and is hopefully also coming to switch in the not too distant future.
Great to know this video compares the legacy and hardware of these 2 consoles and Not the games i was thinking when i saw the title of this video. Gee the switch is literley 2 weeks old... there isn't even like 30 games yet
Thank you for this video. It brought back some N64 memories I forgot I retained. For example (one of many), I remember renting Buck Bumble for the N64. Yes, renting. From a brick and mortar shop like Blockbuster Video or Hollywood Video. Anywho, I vividly recall how underwhelmed I was with the game. Except for the title music; which I totally danced to. The tune was one of those drum-n-bass/jungle speed-talking dudes laying down rap vocals over a catchy track I would've been ashamed to admit how much I enjoyed (back then). Haha. So many 64 memories. In fact, I even recall, literally, dreaming about the system before it came out. I remember bringing that SOB home, to all my friends living on our street, beaming with pride. The group unboxing was better than any Christmas morning. We hooked up the system in my garage and at least 4 of my friends were there the moment we fired up Mario 64 for the first time. The turtle shell surfing, you guys... That game blew our minds. Fucking Nintendo.
EvillBob I treat my switch like absolute shit so you are completely incorrect, it is sturdy and if you disagree you do now know what you are taking about
Chris Dietrich really any console that doesn't have moving parts can live for a while I bought an nes, and it was claimed to not work, opened it up cleaned it up and now it works
I have both, and love both. If they remake the original N64 version of Golden Eye 007 for the Switch the world will have never seen a such a glorious day.
Even though I wasn’t born when the N64 came out, I can tell that the N64 was a huge leap in gaming history with it’s great games. And I’m not saying that just because the switch *could* the next N64 means it is on par or better than the classic console. But the Switch is still very young in a consoles lifespan. So only time will tell if it’s as revolutionary.
Missed my N64 so much from years ago that I actually picked up on last month with Goldeneye, Zelda OoT, Doom 64, Duke Nukem 64 and Wipeout! Absolutely my favourite console ever produced BUT I would love to have a go on the Nintendo switch, could finally be the handheld console we've all been waiting for, that said, when it comes to a party, I dare say Goldeneye will still be the game everyone goes for haha. Great video :)
all I want is pokemon stadium, star wars racers, and ocarina of time. remastered maybe dlc too would be nice. all those on a switch oh man never leave my room.
Bair and Falanced Yeah but I think the switch will be like the wii u full 1st and Indie party support and no 3rd party AAA game. But I still hope they made a really good m rated game like conker bad fur day.
Nelsitto thats an old game.I want games like gta, titan fall, cod, witcher. the system is underpowered so it cant run those.but if rumours are true they might make a supplementary computing device which give the system more ram and gpu power.
I'm an old guy and I bought my Nintendo 64 new off the shelf. Loved it at the time and packed it away when I moved on. I honestly hadn't played games for many years when I found my old systems while cleaning out the garage a few years ago. Plugged the old girl back in and it brought me back into gaming. The games are just so much fun. I got a Switch on the first day and your comparison isn't so crazy to me. It's a ton of fun so far.
Doing deathmatches in Hexen 64 or Turok Rage Wars with 4 ppl was a blast. All you need was a big TV but meh... had a lot of Sundays spent that way back at the late 90´s. And the best part is that you don´t need to expend a single coin with online services.
my favorite console to this day is myself!! i play with it endlessly, its mobile, fast charging, different modes, decent memory, and what a great controller!
The preview image got me thinking. Wouldn't it be awesome if they made Switch Docks with the shape of Nintendo's retro consoles that were compatible with the old controllers and accesories? Not saying that it's a posibility but it'd be cool as hell!
This is kinda funny cuz I actually turned my n64 into a handheld portable a while ago. Eventually the switch came out and my brother got one and he's been having a lot of connection issues with it mean while I'm sitting there playing my portable and having a blast (also designed it with a built in everdrive so I actually have the entire n64 library in the palm of my hand).
I loved the N64 and have so many good memories! I still play those games to this day. Let's see Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Banjo Kazooie, Diddy Kong Racing, Super Smash Brothers, Star Fox 64, Goldeneye 007, Mario Party, Paper Mario, Banjo Tooie, Perfect Dark, Yoshi's Story, Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Stadium, Snowboard Kids, Rogue Squadron, Donkey Kong 64, Kirby 64, and Conker's Bad Fur day I still prefer the N64 when playing OoT which is my favorite game of all time. Haven't played BotW yet though.
Was just a couple of months since I played Majora's Mask on the N64, have a few good memories of banjo kazooie too & tomorrow I'll get my switch delivered hopefully. If it wasn't for the new Zelda game I would probably continue to play some of my other older consoles.
bought a 2nd hand N64 as a teen, set it up in my bed room and played hours of Banjo Kazooie. Lots of memories playing Golden Eye multiplayer as Oddjob crouching and doing karate Chop! Also Mario Kart 64 and hours watching my friend play Zelda Ocarina of time. 64 was a great system. I much prefer the dual stick design to get good camera views. But having one control that you can squeeze and sweat on when a big boss is about to kill you and then throw across the room because you lost, I have not done that to my Switch yet, especially in handheld mode!
love the N64.i will never forget the thrill of seeing a super Mario 64 demo at Best buy.everyone had their jaws on the floor.same spine tingling thrill I got first time seeing the original star wars film.you just don't get that kind of feeling anymore.our expectations are just too high to be met.
N64 controllers are special and unique and I have fond memories of kicking butt on GoldenEye with one. The only real issues was how the analogue stick wore out and became Mr Floppy and the left hand side d-pad almost never got used. Aside from that, really great colours and the Z-Trigger were awesome.
Did you really make a comparaison talking about the jack audio connector between a hybrid-portable gaming console and a "normal" hardware piece from 1997? sweet lord
Ah the good old days of the 64, I still remember my fascination with Perfect Dark. Me and my cousins would sit in the basement for hours every weekend playing splitscreen between 4 people. Still one of my all time favorite games..
I recently bought the Eon Super 64 adapter which has breathed new life into many of my old favorites. The biggest issue that I have with the 64 right now is that the wired controllers do not stretch more than 6 feet which limits playing space. I have extensions but they are mostly shit. The lack of a really good wireless controller that doesn't also cost a fortune for the system (I've checked out all the viable ones) really hurts too.
We like doing silly comparisons just to see how far game technology has come. What should we do next? Scorpio and Xbox? PC stuff? Let us know!

gameranx Hey guys just wanted to say I love this channel.

will the switch stay in our hearts?
of course...if you eat cartridge which will go into your blood stream effecting circulation leading to a heart attack...
XD funny, when you realize they made the cartridge the worst taste on earth, so kids don't eat them. But i am feeling a cartridge eating challenge coming up soon. XD
Najuyel Ahmed damn
lol
yeah that chemical they spray on the cartridges to make it taste bitter, probably isn't healthy!
it's actually completely harmless, it just tastes bad
Just wait until Nintendos next console. The Nintendo Switchty Four

Edward Merida oh I member That was actually a good handheld to own.

Edward Merida RIP
How about those GTA games on PsP?
the PSP was great. My favorite Monster Hunter games are on it
Goldeneye was a masterpiece

That is GREAT to hear, thanks! We do these specifically because sometimes we want to talk retro, but we have to keep it somewhat relevant.
Nick Clemons its always nice to see older gamers in the world of kids and young adults :).
Adrian N. I think he meant he was born in 1977

CalypsoRaz most underrated comment
CalypsoRaz cool 😀👍 im glad to see how much gaming makes people happy
the switch will be better when it can play nintendo 64 games :D
Kristian Berget I wouldn't be upset with n64 games in the eShop (or even better but less realistically, physical copies)
Like mario 64
I want a dock like in the thumbnail. They could make an N64 dock that has all the games on it like the nes classic but you have to snap in your switch like an old cartridge to play it!

You people don't know how to take your nostalgia glasses off. The Switch has only been out a couple of weeks, give it time. I love the N64 too but the Switch is looking like it'll be even better.
What nostalgia ? There is no "once good" , it's ALWAYS good ! She is still in front of my boobtube with the rest of the family until I am dead
What ever the fuck that means^^ I agree, honestly I love the 64, the switch just dosent cut it honestly
Preston Garvay if you buy a Nintendo switch you'll like it better then the n64 also the switch just came out so it's not going to have a lot of games but as time go's on it'll have a lot of games. gosh people just think there childhood is the only thing that matters. >:(
computerkid1416 agreed
computerkid1416 I think the Nintendo Switch is better.
Gamranx has come so far these past few months. Hella subs and the quality has only got upwards. Great video i fux w this series heaavy boys

The Nintendo 64 had Conker. End of story. lol
and the best version of perfect dark and goldeneye
StrawHat Conker sucks
Alex No one asked about your Opinion, kid
Lord GabeN At the end of the video he asked which one do you think is better so your wrong
Well I get the nostalgia factor. I just wish the N64 had decent 3rd party support like the switch it getting right now. The N64 is great but the you cannot lie about how good the switch is at the moment.
"Silly HD rumble nonsense."
KID THAT CRAP IS FRICKING MAGIC
I kinda want to get the switch. But there are just waaaaaaaaaay to few games on it. I'm not gonna spend 300+ just for Zelda
ClubSoda There are over 100 Games coming out this year and Zelda is worth 300 dollars to be honest
to be very honest it all depends on the next pokemon game. As a huge fan was very dissapointed by Sun and Moon. Hoping the next will be great. Then I might buy the switch.
ClubSoda But sun and Moon are the best Pokemon games. This coming from someone who's played gen 1 to current.
ClubSoda It really isn't worth it
TheAsianPlaysGames I personally thought it was way to slow and boring. And I feel likey character didn't have alot of impact on the story.
I don't really understand why everyone moans about the Nintendo switches graphics. I've git a switch and a Xbox one. I think zelda is visually better than almost all my Xbox one games on le battlefield one

Loved my n64 goldeneye and Zelda where amazing ❤
best games on the N64 were goldeneye and the first Mario cart ...... played them to death in the multi player modes...... classic stuff
Presuming you have irl friends to do things like that with. Yeah it can be fun to play 4 player goldeneye or mario kart but for some of us that didn't always have access to that the 64 was lacking. shhhh. Dumb Casual. N64 is a freaking monster when it comes to Real Games like Perfect Dark Turok 2 or Ogre Battle 64
who are you calling dumb casual lol played all them you mentioned but goldeneye was the best by a mile
That wasn't the first Mario kart. That was Mario kart 64. They had Mario kart on the super Nintendo
jo mo I ment the first Mario cart on the n64 as I think they released a few of them...... I had the snes version too..... loved it but was only 2 player

It isn't dumb to compare them as long as you consider the time they were released in. Great video one of the few channels I enjoy.
Even though the Nintendo Switch wins I don't care old fashion players still will never forget it comment what was your favorite game from the Nintendo 64 mine was paper mario.
TheBossCactus #1 Banjo Tooie :)

XCortex not everyone has money like that. So if someone has to pick the best system theyll probably go for ps4 to get the most diverse games.
Jude Ceant It's all personal preference, if your friends are on PS4 get it, if your friends are on XB1 get it, if no one has either look at which games you want to play the most

Holy shit I found a real gamer that doesn't care about 16k UUUUHD graphics (sort of)
Oddly enough I still prefer the SNES over all of them. But, I can't say I've had much experience with current gen consoles.
ill still take N64 over Switch anyday!!! Jus give me Golden Eye and No Mercy #MissThoseDays
then ill play as oddjob and make you go to the switch
Jared Fetterman No way buddy im oddjob
Real Talk Oh you're THAT person. Just like me ;)
Perfect Dark? Ocarina? Turok? Mario 64? I could go on...
where the FUCK is super smash brothers

Nintendo Switch has some good games (emphasis on 'some') but the main attraction is the hardware and how it can *switch* from console to handheld. But with such few games, and most of them childish, it's tough to decide.
PS4 on the other hand has a huge library of great games (especially exclusives) that I have grew up with. But Switch is something really different and cool, which I also want to try out. Can someone help me out here?
I also forgot to mention, Switch has Zelda.
Prakhar Mishra get a PS4 then buy a switch during the holidays because it'll have a much larger library by then.
Just Fred I'd like to, but my parents won't allow me.
We are still 9 months away from Christmas so they might agree to get it for you
Just Fred Let's hope so...
But if you had to just say "PS4" or "Nintendo Switch", nothin' else, what would you pick?
I like this a lot more than those TOP 10 LIST that are becoming so damn frequent on this channel. Only watch them if Falcon is on the mic.
n64 wins DUHH. I pre ordered halo 5 on the n64 and it was great.
Fast RMX is good.
Fast RMX is okay... but feels way too arcade-y. Compare it to Redout, which is probably the best AG racer out there, and is hopefully also coming to switch in the not too distant future.
Well, the company who made Fast RMX is trying to make a new F-Zero, and if they get it, hopefully we'll see it on the switch.
Christian Breitenstein thank you someone who think the switch is good you're the best :)
Damn I like the vid guys good job!!
Great to know this video compares the legacy and hardware of these 2 consoles and Not the games i was thinking when i saw the title of this video.
Gee the switch is literley 2 weeks old... there isn't even like 30 games yet
N64> switch easily.
Switch is better by a million!
Zelda is the boy and you play as him.
JUST KIDDING
BUZZTIME ARCHIVE did you just watch TheMasterOfDoom videos?
*Sees Zelda*
"WOAH! NICE GRAPHICS!!!!!"
Here's a comparison: The N64 was made from Nintendium and the Switch breaks by looking at it.
Yeah, the like 30 cases of broken switch compared to the millions of great ones :P
EvillBob I treat my switch like absolute shit so you are completely incorrect, it is sturdy and if you disagree you do now know what you are taking about
Do you chuck your Switch at a wall and complain if it breaks rather than treating it carefully, like any normal gamer?
EvillBob the NES still holds the title of being a beast at taking damages
Chris Dietrich really any console that doesn't have moving parts can live for a while I bought an nes, and it was claimed to not work, opened it up cleaned it up and now it works
I have the Nintendo switch and the Nintendo 64. I like the switch better
0:58 that satisfying moment when you get nothing but net from jumping into cannons
PS5 vs Atari 2600
Atari wins hands down
I've never played the N64 or the Switch so.. I have no say
Kappakappa duk doesn't the switch have like no games available on it accept for zelda
awesome video I subscribed
One had 6 good games.
And the other has one good game so far.
Ahem I am Setsuna, Fast RMX, Zelda, Super Bomberman R, Shovel Knight etc
also the N64 has been out for longer so the Switch's library is still growing
Zelda, Fast Racing Rmx, and Shovel Knight are good games. So thats 3 games.
Teddy Rose and soon 4
Nice tool pic
Matthew Maggiore Thanks!You too!
nintendo 64 master race
I have both, and love both. If they remake the original N64 version of Golden Eye 007 for the Switch the world will have never seen a such a glorious day.
the 64 will always be better.
i agree! :)
N64 was and still is king.
Agreed.
Lmao no
Even though I wasn’t born when the N64 came out, I can tell that the N64 was a huge leap in gaming history with it’s great games. And I’m not saying that just because the switch *could* the next N64 means it is on par or better than the classic console. But the Switch is still very young in a consoles lifespan. So only time will tell if it’s as revolutionary.
Nintendo 64>>>>>Switch
Not really but close
as a proud N64 owner, i can disagree with that, Switch is superior. but that's not to say N64 is bad, it's still a great console that i love dearly.
Only bc switch doesn’t have Quest64 on it 😉
Missed my N64 so much from years ago that I actually picked up on last month with Goldeneye, Zelda OoT, Doom 64, Duke Nukem 64 and Wipeout! Absolutely my favourite console ever produced BUT I would love to have a go on the Nintendo switch, could finally be the handheld console we've all been waiting for, that said, when it comes to a party, I dare say Goldeneye will still be the game everyone goes for haha. Great video :)
64 better!!!!!!!!!
Nostalgia gets the best of us
So true
Gabe Sanchez yesss
Gabe Sanchez wow thats stupid if you said something older is better than the new one that is still growing
Why is something older better then the new one
Switch
all I want is pokemon stadium, star wars racers, and ocarina of time. remastered maybe dlc too would be nice. all those on a switch oh man never leave my room.
NINTENDO 64 IS BETTER
Lol hell no
Melo Blkn yes
Ty Martin hell yea classic lol
Melo Blkn no it's not
NOSTALGIA
The n64 has a m rated game. The switch has nothing.
Bair and Falanced Yeah but I think the switch will be like the wii u full 1st and Indie party support and no 3rd party AAA game. But I still hope they made a really good m rated game like conker bad fur day.
Nick Loquellano Skyrim.
Nelsitto thats an old game.I want games like gta, titan fall, cod, witcher. the system is underpowered so it cant run those.but if rumours are true they might make a supplementary computing device which give the system more ram and gpu power.
Nick Loquellano it's old but it's better than all games you mentioned lmao (except witcher)
Nick Loquellano btw remember that this is a hybrid, a console that you can take with you anywhere, it seems people forget about that
I'm an old guy and I bought my Nintendo 64 new off the shelf.
I'm glad you made this video! I grew up with the N64, and I think that the Switch is the most fun I've had with a new console since then~
i might sound weird saying this but... the nintendo 64 controller is probably my all time favorite controller ever.
N64 was the best designed controller of all time no system has ever felt as comfortable as one.
What a perverted thing you are. Are you a girl? Then tell me more about it...
Lol that last minute i was just like "cough Eric Striffler cough"
Great video 👏
Man, couldn't you get a "cleaner" cart to showcase in this vid?! That Banjo-Kazooie is GRUNGY! Let's step up the production value, bud!
3:02 lol all that dirt on the switch😂
As a suggestion maybe do some handheld comparisons. Such as DS and 3Ds or PSP and PS Vita
I loved the N64 and have so many good memories! I still play those games to this day. Let's see Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Banjo Kazooie, Diddy Kong Racing, Super Smash Brothers, Star Fox 64, Goldeneye 007, Mario Party, Paper Mario, Banjo Tooie, Perfect Dark, Yoshi's Story, Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Stadium, Snowboard Kids, Rogue Squadron, Donkey Kong 64, Kirby 64, and Conker's Bad Fur day
I still prefer the N64 when playing OoT which is my favorite game of all time. Haven't played BotW yet though.
"It's definitely not perfect."
-Jake's tagline
My classmates grandma lived across the street from me so after school we'd go over there and play bomberman 64 for hours.
Gameranx this vid is like Tank vs Horseman
Great video!
Was just a couple of months since I played Majora's Mask on the N64, have a few good memories of banjo kazooie too & tomorrow I'll get my switch delivered hopefully. If it wasn't for the new Zelda game I would probably continue to play some of my other older consoles.
Are you going to be doing a before you buy Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 remix for the PS4? I'm thinking of buying it :)
All I gotta ask is have you played n64 today? I tried to do a run a day on the console.
i still remembered that when i was a little kid,i would always play the 64 and i still have it and it brings back so many memories
I remember seeing somewhere online that someone made a dock for the Switch out of a N64, it looked pretty cool.
I loved the n64 all my childhood memories are in that console memory pack.
I hope they do themed Switch releases like how they had themed/different color N64s (and how they still do with the 3ds)
bought a 2nd hand N64 as a teen, set it up in my bed room and played hours of Banjo Kazooie. Lots of memories playing Golden Eye multiplayer as Oddjob crouching and doing karate Chop! Also Mario Kart 64 and hours watching my friend play Zelda Ocarina of time. 64 was a great system. I much prefer the dual stick design to get good camera views. But having one control that you can squeeze and sweat on when a big boss is about to kill you and then throw across the room because you lost, I have not done that to my Switch yet, especially in handheld mode!
love the mock-up picture
The PSVita used cartridges too.
Not a home console
2:42 is'nt he Link? Correct me if I'm wrong.
love the N64.i will never forget the thrill of seeing a super Mario 64 demo at Best buy.everyone had their jaws on the floor.same spine tingling thrill I got first time seeing the original star wars film.you just don't get that kind of feeling anymore.our expectations are just too high to be met.
Goldeneye, facility, remote mine. Hours of childhood
the n64 pad control is one of the most innovative designs in modern history
I like the Switch console better, but I think the N64 controller feels better in the hand.
N64 controllers are special and unique and I have fond memories of kicking butt on GoldenEye with one. The only real issues was how the analogue stick wore out and became Mr Floppy and the left hand side d-pad almost never got used. Aside from that, really great colours and the Z-Trigger were awesome.
I don't care about what anyone says it brings a blast frim the past back into my memory and reminds me how gaming has changed so much
I have yet to try out the Switch, but is HD rumble really nonsense? It sounds like one of the more interesting features to me...
Did you really make a comparaison talking about the jack audio connector between a hybrid-portable gaming console and a "normal" hardware piece from 1997? sweet lord
I remember playing mario kart on n64 back in my highschool days. How nostalgic.
Ah the good old days of the 64, I still remember my fascination with Perfect Dark. Me and my cousins would sit in the basement for hours every weekend playing splitscreen between 4 people. Still one of my all time favorite games..
Ah, Hangtime multiplayer after school when I was a teenager with friends 😎
I recently bought the Eon Super 64 adapter which has breathed new life into many of my old favorites. The biggest issue that I have with the 64 right now is that the wired controllers do not stretch more than 6 feet which limits playing space. I have extensions but they are mostly shit. The lack of a really good wireless controller that doesn't also cost a fortune for the system (I've checked out all the viable ones) really hurts too.
