It's not even about knowing who the Iron Fist himself is, but the entire storyline, his villains, his allies etc. that are SO important for Defenders
I'd strongly recommend that they watch Luke Cage as well.

But yeah as I was saying even back when they watched Daredevil S1, they really should just watch all of it in the correct order
@@DLites151 that makes no sense, as I said it's not about just reading about those things but first hand experiencing it. Sure you can read about A doing B and meeting C killing D while E commands F to do G etc. but you'd still have no idea who all of those people are, what they look like, what their real connections are and what exactly that means in Defenders when you actually see them
Honestly it's not worth the slog. It's 12 hours of content and you can read up on all of this. Luke Cage is genuinely good so that's more valuable.
With Iron Fist, its better to watch it not only for the character, but also the villains, because with Iron Fist, is when the main group of villains in Defenders is explored
Season 1 of Jessica Jones is definitely the best season. It was so good. Still a shame the views for these reactions were too low. Still glad yall stuck with it and finished it.

Glad you were able to finish Season 1. David Tennant is an absolutely magnificent actor. I recommend the show Good Omens. He stars in it with Michael Sheehan and they are brilliant.

She is so great as a character, not the typical superhero we all know from many things. I am looking forward to more reactions and when Andor comes, it will be amazing! You both are one of my favorite reaction channels.
Season 2 of Jessica Jones gets even more personal for Jessica believe it or not.
One thing about Jessica Jones that i find interesting, compared to other superheroes show, is that for most of the season, it's her detective work that's on focus, not the fact she's super strong. Yes, it comes in handy here and there, but it's not the main thing, which is refreshing to me. Anyways, glad you guys finished the season!
I actually prefer when reactors do two or three episodes in one video. Keep bringing it!

Fully accepting how privileged I am now, but this was one of the most nostalgic laughs I've had in a long time. That is such a _Dad_ thing to say during a fight scene. I've seen videos where Jen gives Holden a hard time about being super frugal - I don't think a restaurant has ever been mentioned on this channel without pure anger being expressed at the cost of a milkshake in the same breath - and still, that caught me off-guard.
this show and tennants character really cemented him as an incredible actor with such a range, i loved every aspect of kilgrave
It's uncertain if this is MCU canon, but I hope if it isn't they can bring back David Tenant for something, dude has such an incredible onscreen presence.
Surely it's canon considering Dare Devil showed up? But they could play the card of one in tv show is from different universe which would be lame

@@BichaeldeAngelo Disney is so ridiculous for that. They need to keep the same castings. They were all perfect. Without Foggy & Karen in the new daredevil show it won’t be the same. Them 2 are part of the reason that the daredevil show was so good, their whole dynamic. Disney’s gonna ruin everything that Netflix worked hard on slowly making throughout the years. It makes me even more scared for X-Men, I think they’ll ruin that too. Look what they’ve done to Ms. Marvel, making her a mutant was so stupid. That’s not her origin in the comics, that’s not accurate. She better not end up joining the X-Men in the future. The mcu is making so many repeated mistakes that it’s making me want to quit it & give up on it completely
@@packedentertainment2866 I mean, it seems like you're a comic purist which I don't really relate to but I sympathize with- my problem is moreso that the changes they're making have been terrible. I don't mind Ms Marvel being a mutant as the Inhumans have been executed poorly and it simplifies things more for general audiences but yeah, I have no doubt Daredevil is going to be significantly worse than the Netflix version. I don't even think this phase has been aggressively bad, they just don't make you care about any of the characters and it feels so painfully mediocre.
It was always Canon and It remains Canon. I dont know why people question that.

Glad you got around to finishing this show! My personal recommendation is that the two of you watch Iron Fist before you watch The Defenders. Iron Fist's story directly leads into the Defenders which could prevent some confusion. You might want to watch it on your own time since I don't think doing reaction videos would perform very well due to Iron Fist not being that popular.

Funny tidbit, the creator and showrunner of Jessica Jones, Melissa Rosenberg, actually was a writer and executive producer on Dexter. You can see a lot of the similarities between the shows once you have that knowledge.
I know Iron Fist has a bad rep but I would definitely encourage you to watch it ahead of the Defenders.
Iron Fist isn't the only one introduced in the season that will be in The Defenders. There's also Colleen Wing who is an important character in my opinion. I didn't hear you say you would watch Luke Cage but hope so as well there's the character of Misty Knight who has an important role in The Defenders. Also, The Defenders villains backstory is intertwined with Iron Fist's backstory.
Madame Gao from Daredevil Season 1 is in Iron Fist season 1. Jeri Hogarth, the lawyer from Jessica Jones is in Iron Fist season 1. Claire Temple is also in Iron Fist Season 1. The ending of Iron Fist season 1 leads into The Defenders.
It would be like going back to the MCU Phase 1 and saying you're not going to watch Iron Man 2 ahead of The Avengers. Black Widow, one of the main Avengers is introduced in Iron Man 2. Rhodey gets the War Machine suit in Iron Man 2. I really think you should watch Iron Fist Season 1 is my point.
I don't think the acting is bad in Iron Fist season 1 or 2. I just think the budge and the director were not where they needed to be to give the show its best potential. On top of that I also read or saw somewhere that it was because they chose to scoot in Daredevil season 2 ahead of Iron Fist Season 1 that there wasn't anywhere near as much left in the budget for it. So he kind of got the shaft there.
I don't know if it's possible from a views standpoint but watching all of the pre-shows/seasons before the Defenders is worth it just so you know the villains and other story arcs for the characters. If you do 4 episodes at a time like you did here maybe it works out out from an editing time / number of views perspective. Just a thought/suggestion.
Fun Fact: Similer to Jessica, Daredevil is actually one of the few people immune to Kilgrave’s powers. Other characters immune are Kingpin, Doctor Doom, Vision, & Deadpool

Sooo glad you guys got to finish this series. Yeah end of Jessica Jones season 1 is awesome.... some really good twists and turns there. :)
And agreed, Killgrave is too good of a villain to kill off. But Marvel seem to do that with some great characters that come along - sometimes they kill them off too early.
One thing I super appreciate in the Jessica Jones series is that there isn't any "competition" between the genders trying to one-up each other like in some movies or shows. So, even though the main lineup is mostly women, it doesn't come across really as a "women being better than men" type show (or vice vera really) - each character is just great in their own right, no matter their gender or background. Each character is just an awesome chracter in their own right.
That feels like a deliberate choice of the writers and it makes the show really really awesome. :)

Out of all the spin off shows, Iron Fist is the only one you shouldn't skip. The plot of the first season adds to the plot of DD season 2 with Elektra and The Hand and all that and Defenders is the finale of this story arc.
Of all the shows it's the only one that is really relevant to Defenders other than Daredevil.
Don't care for people saying it sucks (first of, not that bad really) but that's totally irrelevant anyway.
So yeah, you'd be missing a lot of context jumping into Defenders without watching Iron Fist.
On these Netflix series and such, personally, I like to binge the reactions a season at a time. 3episodes per video seems to be perfect for the mix. Maybe that’s why the views for the early episodes weren’t good. I’ve kept up with your Jessica Jones stuff because it’s Jessica Jones and it’s you two but I watch many reactors and most I will let the season finish before I watch.
My drinking game is every time I hear “Holden Hardman!” I take a shot….

Just FYI, There are events with side characters in Iron Fist Season 1 that are relevant to the story in Defenders. I really recommend watching it first even if its on your own time.
thank you for finishing the series even if it was financially better to do multiple episodes at a time. Even if you don't watch Iron Fist for the channel, you would benefit from watching it before the Defenders, The same goes for the first season of Luke Cage, you should watch it before watching the Defenders or you will not get the full effect.

I think Iron Fist is worth watching because of its flaws, plus it being so integral to the plot of the Defenders. Also, Colleen Wing is worth watching it for.
Jessica got shot in episode 4 luke biggest weakness is his invulnerability because he can die from internal damage. Killgraves get killed in the comics to he has healing abilities like wolverine or he's a parasite in Jessica's head. More likely there go with the children of the purple man storyline that's how they're going to bring Jessica to the MCU in daredevil born again.
And there he goes, one of the best villains of the live action marvel killed of in one season.
Why are we skipping Luke Cage he had his own show as well that takes place before the defenders had real strong performance from Maharshala Ali.
Holden going into Defenders without watching Iron Fist is a huge mistake, most of the story in Defenders revolve around him and his storyline.

Seasons 2 & 3 are awesome. This is my favorite Marvel show. The Punisher is a close second.

I understand the desire to keep such a good villain around, but think about it - he was so powerful and so obsessed with Jessica that there was no other way the season could end. I mean, I guess they could have found a way to leave it a little bit more ambiguous, but unless Jessica really believed he was dead she would have had to continue to go after him with the same urgency. And unless he was at least severely disabled for a significant length of time he would have continued to try to control her.
I wouldn't skip Iron Fist tbh before watching Defenders and go for Iron Fist SE2 later because it's even better than Defenders
One thing to keep in mind with watching The Defenders. Unlike The Avengers, who fights great in Open Spaces, The Defenders only fights great in Hallways. 😂

The early Iron Fist comics by Byrne, and the run of Immortal Iron Fist by Brubaker and Fraction is pretty darn good, though :)
you can watch Iron Fist on your own time just so you know his storyline and villain's because besides Daredevil, his show is the most tied to The Defenders and going into it without that information would make The Defenders confusing. You can also watch Luke Cage on your own time aswell since his story kinda bleeds into Defenders also
I think you guys should still watch Luke Cage & Iron Fist. Even just Privately & just make full series review in the channel.
There is probably a good summary of Iron Fist somewhere on RUclips. That would be enough for Defenders.
Small plot point from the comics they never address in the netflix movies, Killgrave has healing but is very slow compared to Jessica he cam back from a damn near fatal wound in the comics if he did not have a more aggressive healing ability then a normal human he would have died for sure but it took him several years to come back
Luke Cage is a fantastic show
i'll just say, going straight into Defenders without at least seeing Iron Fist Season 1 will make very little sense. The entire plot line of it depends on so many things from that season

The Defenders narrative is pretty much centered on the Hand. Sure, they made appearances in Daredevil S1 and S2, but Iron Fist explores the Hand with a lot of depth.
I'm not a patreon supporter, but I really urge you and Jen to watch Iron Fist S1 before The Defenders, even if the views will take a hit.

It's definitely worth watching Iron Fist before Defenders, even if you do it on your own time. It's just too relevant to the overall plot to skip and reading details on a wiki won't really give you the same context as watching it.
I personally think that you guys should watch Iron-fist and Luke cage season 1 before watching The defenders. You don’t even have to take time and record and make videos out of it, but things that happen in those shows will come up in defenders and may confuse you.
Personally I would like to see a full reaction to The Defenders and of course Daredevil season 3, and then maybe do those 2/3 episodes a video for the rest of the shows
Purple man has been used a few times to support big villain plans so I hope mcu brings him back with Mr tenant playing him I want to see some brainwashed avengers do some brutal stuff but that probably would be left for animation I honestly doubt blade will even be rated r

Ironfist probably isnt worth the time, I watched it and whilst it felt like the second season was setting up a potentially good course correction I can totally see why it fell flat. I really enjoyed Luke Cage though

If the MCU continues Jessica’s origin it will be different than the source material because she went to school with Peter Parker and when she meets Luke is many years after so the timeline wouldn’t add up if the tried to do a one to one which is okay. I look forward to your next one.
I enjoyed all your Jessica Jones videos. This was actually my favorite of all the Netflix Marvel shows. I liked it more than Daredevil.

I really struggled with JJ season 1. The villain was compelling but aside from that I didn't really enjoy any of the characters. Season 2 though I did enjoy much more. I think Jessica makes a better side character than a main character. Really enjoyed her in the Defenders.
