I had one of these for my first car, got it for $2800 used, had a couple quirks at first. Like the back doors not unlocking with the key signals, and you could end get out of the back without having someone open the door for you from the outside(for this reason me and my friends often joked and called the back the rape seats, not very tasteful but we were 16 at the time), that and when you would pump gas the tank was weird and made the pump auto stop a lot. It also had a bad paint job, which was the only thing out of these quirks that I fixed. In that car I had so many first, first dates, first time driving on a road trip, first time changing a flat, a first kiss. Plus tons of other funny memories and near death experiences due to my careless driving, but thankfully as time went on I got better. Got it with around 120k miles on it and got it up around 200k over the 5 years I owned it. But by then end of its journey it was more of a metal death trap than a car. The power steering pump went out, the auto break system died, started having to replace a headlight or rear light about once a month, the ac made these awful clicking noises, the air filter needed replacing, one tire was a bit bent, and the traction control was out as well, so instead of trying to fix it all up, I ended up trading it in just yesterday... I almost wished I could hug it and get a better good bye after all it got me through, maybe just one last cruise would be nice, but oh well. It was also one of the few thing I felt I owned for a while since I saved up to buy it myself, kinda had pride in that as opposed to all the other kids who just got them as gifts. Used it for about 5 years and again I'll say it, I'm gonna really miss that car

Did the transmission keep having problems on this car?
BigBee5tinger yeah I had it rebuilt once by the dealer. Trans tech told me in another 30-50k it might need it again. Was enough to get me to trade the car off after that.
Just_A_Z71 man that’s insane I love the impala ss but the transmission is trash and I hear that’s not the only problems they have when they get over 100k my 3.6 6speed been solid from day one not even a hiccup
Yo tengo un impala 2004 y me gusta mucho corre bien
I’ve hit 142mph in my LTZ before I let out ran into traffic couldn’t hit the limit. But nice shyt can’t wait to do it in mines
Dude I have a 3.9 with the governor erased and chipped if you did the same to yours you can probably touch 200 mph the highest I’ve touched was 185 mph exhaust sounds really good though
how fast would it go without the limiter?
He Was Moving On Out.
I’m here because I just raced one of these this morning. On my way home from work and my F150 5.0 he punched it first from about 30 mph. He was a car like that of me all the way till 80mph when I walked by him. He looked over like what the fuck
Whered youd the get the klug performance tune at man?
How do I get the compass and thermostat thing on my 2012 Impala dash?
Tyler Cameron top right button looks like a ✔
Yeah I cycle through everything and can't find it... I guess mine doesn't have it. I think mine is an LS.
Tyler Cameron hmmm, it should I have the ltz 11. pretty sure they're similar
Is it me or did anyone notice that its KM/Hr not MPH. 148 km/hr is about 93 mph
What upgrades did you have on this or was it stock?
Was just a 93 tune and a custom cat-back.
@@erick5598 do you still have it because my dad's had the ignition problem
@@enzofamily4320 unfortunately it's been gone for a few years now.
Aren't these cars front wheel drive?
They were.
Way to beat on it.
I like how you can get just about this much HP in the 3.6 impalas, I guess that's why GM never put the 8.1 in the impala..
knightrider1545
Well yea the 8.1 was a truck engine for the 3/4 and 1 ton pickups, not meant for cars. It had lots of torque for towing if you prefer gas over diesel.
adogg619 torque favoribg kotor moe npg.
HP is the same but not the torque
adogg619 better mpg
The newer 3.6 impalas made more hp
I m guessing a tall 2.93 axle ratio
💪🏾💯
Chevrolet should made those 2000s impala ss rear wheel drive
Yes!!
