  • A video of my stock 2012 Chevy Impala doing a speed run from a dig.
    0-130 mph
Been seeing a whole lot of videos of short 0 to 60 pulls I decided to go pretty much all the way to the top.

I absolutely love this car. My dad has a 2012 LT Impala and it has been great. 300 HP, and reaching the top speed the speed limiter would let us go, which was 112 MPH. It really is too bad he doesn’t drive it anymore because of a steering issue. I miss the car. We sometimes would take it out for abuse with the peppy 3.6 V6 it has and run a few acceleration tests with it. It’s been a fun, speedy ride with her.

I have one. Fast car, but the brakes are terrible. Stops like a sub-compact at high speeds due to the weight, which is why I never got a tune for it. Wish it had good brakes like my 1LE Camaro. That stops on a dime at 150, but even at highway speeds the rotors will warp if you stop too quick, and so bad that it will ruin the calipers. Sucks as otherwise it’s a fun car.

@alexanderkennedy2969 yep 4 cylinders will get better mileage when there in vehicles suited for 4 cylinders like a hatchback or a crossover but when you through 4 bangers in full size SUV’s and tune them to make 400lb feet of torque not only will you get worse gas Mileage, those little engines will be done after 100,000 miles.

I use my G6 as a daily driver too but I stay on my oil changes like every 3k with Valvoline extended synthetic oil and good filter as well as change that pcv valve every 9k. So far I haven't seen any oil leak or burning oil. No light or check engine light either. I bought the car used with 155k I now have have 167k. Haven't done that oil catch can either. Say what you want but the 3.6 from gm hauls ass and sounds good too. Comparing GM's 3.6L and the Pentastar 3.6L I would end up picking GM. I think the Penastar sounds good and does move with the right trans but I feel the Gm still has better reliability. Eventhough I know some earlier issues and people knock it. I had a CTS in the past and, sold it several years ago. The car is still going strong with 220K miles on it. Original engine and ZF 6 speed. I had a 2015 Durango with the 3l6 Penastar and at 78k 2 of the lifters began to fail. I religiously maintain cars. So for me the GM wins that contest

My 06 3.9L monte runs 0-60 in 7.0 and I've never run a 1/4 mile with it but I'd assume low 15s. Just FYI, in 2006 the 3.9L was 242hp/242lb-ft and dropped down to i think 224hp right before the 3.6L replaced it. Its actually not that bad if you ever ride in one.
