The nice thing about these cars is that if you have to replace a timing chain or water pump...you just remove the fan and fan shroud...and climb right in ! You'll have about 30 inches of room between the motor and the rad cradle. Trunk lid is the same as a 70 Chevelle.
You have so many cars that are on my automobile-bucket list. Give me a year or so to add to my funds from this trucking career and I’ll be visiting that lot to take something off your hands.
My aunt owned a brand new one when they first came out,,,, she was the coolest aunt ! Lol !!! I think it had a 350 although,,, but she loved that car ! 😁✌
Torque converter sounds like a higher stall than stock. Nice combination between gearing and torque converter stall. I have a Ford truck with 3.25 gear, 2500 rpm torque converter stall with a 460 big block. Makes for a very fun vehicle.
1970 Monte Carlo that's one. Sweet nice ride folks Nick I don't no how y'all find these Alsome sweet rides but ill tell you what that's a perfect Chevrolet in my opinion and I wouldn't lie to nobody I don't have to Jesus mos my heart and I thank maple motors will tell you everything they no about the rides they sell ill back them 100 % I put that much trust in them there good folks
I hunted Avery long time for a 70 SS454 Monte Carlo and never found one. These also came with a Muncie speed and those are extremely hard to find in any condition. I drove a lot of muscle cars in my early years as a teen in the seventies and eighties and had lots of fun. These cars were only 10-15 years old on average and could be found like new condition. I've had many small block and a few big block cars. Small blocks are fun but big blocks are a blast.A big block 4 speed 4.11 posi rear is an adrenaline rush !!! I miss my old cars. Should have kept one dang it who knew they would go up in value so much. I remember the 67 GTX 426 Hemi , Dana 60 rear 4.11 position car. Sold for 9k at the time. If only I had got that car and kept it...
The SS454 only came with the TH400 transmission. The Chevrolet dealer brochures and their assembly records show this to be true. Obviously, some were changed soon after production. Muncie 4 speeds were available in the Monte Carlo for 1970 and '71, but only behind the small blocks and the LS3 402 inch motor.
@@Nickolas64 Do you have proof of them being available from the factory? Nobody, thus far, that has claimed that Chevrolet built them, has ever been able to show proof of it. We Monte guys are hoping that someone can do just that. Chevrolet engineers even say none were built.
@@danjanes8689 I've seen one original four speed SS454 but that was many years ago. I've got old books I've had for years that States they were catalogued only coming with the TH400 but the M20 and M21 were available special order. Even the LS6 was an option in 71 as well. I've never seen an LS6 MC but have seen several LS6 Chevelle's. I'm 55 years old and when I started driving these cars were daily drivers for me. I had quite a few muscle cars from the sixties and seventies as my daily drivers to work and also my weekend warrior/racer. These were all over the place back in them days. Cuz are you sure its not a 402 big block because unless its a true SS that was the only thing they put the 454 in was the SS Monte Carlo unless one of the owners of the car changed it not trying to be no ass hole or anything like that but I have owned a few of those 70's montys back in the day !!! But any way that's one hell of a sweet Monte Carlo !!!
Beautiful... I had the exact car 454 matching# ss 1970 white with black vinyl 15x8 rally’s. Got the car in 1994 for $5,500 sold it 5 years later regret it everyday! When will you check on the motors numbers? Thanks
@@malikdigger4544 In 1970 the Monte Carlo was available with 2 different 350s, a 400 inch small block, a 402 inch big block and the 454. There were 3823 SS45s built for '70, and 1919 built for '71. None after that. The 454 was still available through 1975, but not the SS454 package.
Hi Nick great looking Monte.. I had a few myself. You posted it's a 1970 but... It has 71 and up front end. Unless it was in a front accident and the owner but a 71 nose on it. Double check the VIN for the year and if it's a true 70 you should update with a 71 nose. Otherwise great ride.. thanks..🐻🇺🇸
at first I didn't understand the correction but then I see you had to dumb it down for other folks 😂 I see your trucking I'm in school now I wouldn't mind one of these babies
Yeah I’ve had my class a now for just a little over a year and I love it. Im from Ohio and go to New Jersey once a week and then Thursday’s and fridays I do things locally so I can come home every night and then I don’t work the weekends. Good luck to you man I hope you like it.
Well considering that fact that besides my passion for automobiles and driving. I used to be a city bus driver with a class b license. Me and my wife started to look into truck driving, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made as far as a career choices. A few things I’ve learned having my class A and B. 1:Mirrors are you best friend. 2:Get out and look (be sure of your surroundings). And Most important. People drive like idiots and have no respect for us out here so be more than careful.
Nick, now you have hit on my 2nd car....well almost had a 71 gold with black top was a great car, didnt have the 454 though but she still ran good! What I don't seem to see on your site is many mopar's I'm really kind of looking for a 68 or 71 roadrunner that runs good, maybe in the future. This one won't last long.
I watch alot of your videos on these older cars, ( all cool I might add ) , my question is . Do you ever get any 1976 Chevy Monte Carlo's for sale Preferably with automatic in the floor w/ bucket seats. 350cu.in. 4 barrel carb w / AC
They may seem huge today, but they were mid-size cars when new. There were bigger cars in '70, like the Impala and Caprice. Other makes had bigger cars than these, too.

Big Bear that is all 70 up front
Nothing 71 about it
There are alot of differences between a '70 and '71 Monte. This one has everything a '70 should have, as far as I can see in the video.
This Ace Ventura monte is a hood (neighborhood) favorite
