So interesting to see how we used to view ‘normal’ behaviour from men. How was he the decider of custody and only when he saw that he couldn’t handle caring for his son or that it would interfere with his life, that he didn’t want it anymore? How is it ok for him to then back out of his responsibilities as a parent? No respect or apology for the mother and poor kid.
You should see the Family Ties episode with the divorced couple where the dad had no rights. Also courts always favor the mom not the dad so there was no decider of rights on the man's part.

If you look at Diana's old photos from before marriage she loved Jessica McClintock and Gunnesax. I think her wedding gown was designed to look a hint of that. Now that brand, although expensive to me at the time, was not couture so not really something a princess Of Wales should wear. The Royals would have seen that as bargain basement. So she stopped wearing that designer after she got married. However, as tall and slim as she was she looked much better in more tailored clothing. Once she realized that she always looked gorgeous. The ruffles and frills look much better on petite women and it not a style that work on all figures as can be seen well from all these 1980's photos.
