About Who's The Boss?:
Being a parent is tough; being a single parent is even tougher. So when injuries and his wife's death force ex-baseball player Tony Micelli (Tony Danza) into retirement, and a single mom, high powered advertising executive Angela Bower (Judith Light), needed someone to run her household, it was a match made in heaven. Or was it? After convincing her free spirited, mischievous mother, Mona Robinson (Katherine Helmond), that hiring Tony is the right thing to do, the less-than-tidy Angela welcomes him and his daughter Samantha (Alyssa Milano) as the live-in housekeeper for her and her son Jonathan (Danny Pintauro). And while their relationship starts out businesslike and platonic, becoming best friends and confidants makes it hard for two attractive, single adults living under one roof to resist their more grown-up impulses.
#whostheboss #80s #80stvshow
It was sweet that Angela seemed to enjoy this just as much as Sam did. Since she didn't have a daughter.
i think angela really missed having a daughter and that's why she bought her all these clothes, and shoes, and purses and i think it really hurt angela deeply when samantha yelled at angela and told her that she is not her mother and that she can't tell her what to do and for angela punishing her and telling her to go to her room(this happened in the episode "hit the road chad")
Tony danza( tony micelli) and Alyssa Millano(samantha micelli) really looked like they are father and daughter for real. I get this feeling every time i watch an episode of
Who's the Boss?😀😀
Pink and grey...best color combo ever
In the 80s I had a pair of pink and gray Oxford shoes. I loved them. They were so pretty to me. Was sad when I grew out of them.
i had a pink and grey velvet dress. it was my sixth grade graduation dress. i shopped and shopped and shopped at the mall for it. it was one of my favorites.
When she walked in my heart melted..she looked so beautiful..
She's a little "Angel" 😍😊.
Awww.... Sam looks so pretty in that. Looks like a grown up little lady
I loved the organic flow of this show; just a few months prior, Sam was a bit wary of angela, but after some time under the same roof, everyone began to gel as a blended family. Angela was always generous, but you could see she _truly_ interacted with Sam as if that was her daughter; her happiness in "style shopping" with her Bonus child was SO evident. And this whole "little girl growing up" issue was handled *very well;* the awkwardness tony must have felt...as a surrogate papa to a soon to be 12 year old, I totally understand what it's like to see your munchkin sprouting into a blossoming beauty. Hard to _not_ be what they need at any moment.
She really looked like she could be his daughter. They looked related for real.
Both from New York and Italian!
both have italian heritage and both are from New York
anyone notice that tony danza(tony micelli) kisses alyssa milano(samantha micelli) on the lips when she returns home from school? well that's part of italian culture
@@pallavisreetambraparni6995They would always kiss on the lips on the show up until she got older. That would be a scandal nowadays.
This is one of my favorite episodes. "Aye! Who's gonna see if?!"
That gets me every time.
what episode is this? this is not season 1 episode 11
this is in season one
Rotfl!
mine too. i an almost in tears when i watch this episode. it really pulls at the heart strings
Her NY accent is adorable
Tony wasn’t ready to let go
Both Italian. They favored each other. She was so young on,this show,,,
Tony and Sam had great chemistry.
I always had a crush on tony hes so handsome !
It's hard for a single father to do this and that is just what tony showed in this episode. it's hard to raise a daughter without a woman's influence. just imagine how awkward it would have been for tony to explain to samantha when she began to start menstruating for the first time. it would have been an awkward conversation to have. thank goodness he had angela and mona for support to help him with these things. Who's the boss? is a sitcom that showed such situations in a comical way and that such things do happen in real life.
It’s not easy at all for a guy. At least not the first time it happens.
Considering the majority of Men/Women think they are to tear the end, off, of a Condom, prior, to use......
And, I don't know, maybe Tony might get emotional because he's loosing part of his little girl.
Oh boy, Tony is real jealous. I think he needs to accept that his little girl is growing up. Also it's good thing she has a mother-figure in Angela.
She did look pretty in the dress
I think every boy who grew up in the 80's at one time or another had a crush on Samantha
Guilty
I did!
Yeah. Too bad she turned out into a freak

That was my favorite show back then. Tony danza and Alyssa milano where great together 🤗. She was cute and very funny 🙂. It was a great show . I ❤ it.
Now shes all grown up and too political
@@AverageRUclipsr76 She's an ignoramus.
Fun Fact: before Who’s The Boss, Alyssa’s first professional job was playing one of the Orphans in an early national tour of the Broadway show “Annie”. Her babysitter at the time was a dancer who brought Alyssa along on a dance audition for the tour, and let her try out with hundreds of other kids for the orphan roles. Annie’s orphans are meant to be scrappy New York ragamuffins trapped in a cruel Lower East Side, Depression-era orphanage. You can see how her personality and voice would suit such a role. The rest is history.
I love Angela and Sam's relationship..
Poor Angela, she was trying to do something nice.
Alyssa Milano looks so beautiful and gorgeous in that dress. _Hermosa._
Makes me miss my mom.
Alyssa Milano is the first teenage beauty in the history of television. I watched Who’s The Boss on RPN 9 back in the 80’s
2:53 as it turns out Jonathan would never be interested in womens mud wrestling
awesome this now reminds me of my neice Catalina she's only 7 but sounds like a 17 year old girl LoL. I feel sorry for my brother Chris
This is one of favorite episodes.
She was a role model to me growing up.
Me too
And me
Same here.
Tony didn't like she was turning into a little lady cause he felt like he was losing her to Angela. I remember crying after watching this episode as a kid. My parents couldn't understand why. I told them because I never got to play baseball like Sam did. They said you never wanted to learn to play. That's all I could focus on
This is so interesting.
Now I'm getting this show on my recommendations!
Me too...
Alyssa IS gorgeous! They were right to use these visuals in the intro.
she has always been naturally pretty
Too bad she's become such an obnoxious puke.
To bad she turned into a diva.
Still talented still beautiful though
@@Jesusluvme I didn't see your comment until I applied mine. Yes she's a diva ..
@Alex KanyimaHollywood is a messy business and what some say and do just for the buck is detestable and people get hurt and dreams destroyed.
Over the years, seeing how parents react and don't react to Thier kids growing up, especially father's with daughters, is a big reason I never wanted kids, and proud I still don't have any.
I get where the dad is coming from. Seeing her daughter all dressed up felt like a slap in the face of what he had raised her to be and identity. The fact that the dad is very much revolved around her life makes it feel that much painful to see their child being molded into something that had had raised them to be. The dad was not trying to make the daughter feel bad for trying on a new look but more of feeling a sense of betrayal and losing the kind of daughter in his image🙃
She's a Tomboy who is a girl who'll grow up to be beautiful woman, and she'll want that. Dad needs to get used to it, I did.
I think tony had mixed feelings about seeing samantha all dressed up nicely like that. He wants her to grow up, make friends, and fit in into her new surroundings, but at the same time, tony still wants her to be his little tomboy who plays baseball, football, basketball really really well. when tony saw samantha dressed in a nice dress and wearing makeup, he probably felt that things were going a bit too fast for him, and he just wanted his little girl to play baseball, basketball, and football a little while longer before she fully dived into all girly things like dresses, make up, and jewelry. And, to top it off, it was not even his wife/samantha's mother who was taking samantha shopping, it was another woman; his boss, Angela who he was working for, who took samantha shopping, so that made the situation even more awkward for tony, because samantha had asked tony if angela could take her shopping for girl clothes, and he had to say "yes" to samantha because he didn't want to disappoint her.
@@pallavisreetambraparni6995 good point. I also think our society often times makes girls believe and pressure them the idea of being physically active or being into sports is something more socially accepted for men to live by than women.
Omygod samantha is sooo adorable in here!!!😊🕊🕊
Angela was the anchor on that show.
I can’t look at Alyssa Milano without seeing Ariel everytime
Oh, parents.. Parents and their projections.
But always with the best intentions.
Can't believe Alyssa Milano is 49-years old/young!!

Hard enough to see your kids grow, but harder for a father to see his little girl get older....
Father-daughter bonding? Daddy's little girl, ring a bell?
True that.
this video is from season 1 episode 9
Why not the whole episod? It is very frustrating to see just a small part of it...

Is Tony going to have to reimburse Angela for those clothes?😳 They look freaking expensive.🤨
No that would have been a gift to her from Angela. She might take offense if Tony offers to pay her back. Angela clearly enjoyed spoiling her as she only has a son.
Looks like Angela clearly wanted to have a daughter because she already has a son. but the closest that she is going to get to having one for now is Tony's daughter, Samantha unless Angela marries Tony or marries someone who has a daughter. So Angela buys lot of girly things for Samantha to kind of strengthen the bondange and relationship and spends more time with Samantha

Tony looks just like my brother. Twins
“She’s so beautiful and feels so proud of herself.” Hmm...sorry, Angela, but what advice will you have for Sam when she buys something pretty to cheer herself up and it doesn’t work?
She was preparing for her birthday party and wanted to look pretty. Has nothing to do with compulsory shopping.

I hope it is not wrong for me to say this, but I think that Alyssa Milano looks more beautiful on Who's The Boss than she does on Charmed.
I would have the same reaction.
Gee I hope there was a happy ending.
Tony comes off really bad in this scene. Like an ingrate who cannot accept the fact that his daughter is growing up. Whether he likes it or not. I say ingrate cause he couldn't even tell Angela thank you for buying his daughter a beautiful dress. I personally think they took the overprotective father thing a little too far. Most dads are overprotective but not to Tony's extent. He freaks out every single time Sam has a bf. It makes those episodes just about unwatchable

Yeah freedom of speech and expression is a bad thing in this country.
@@richiebear1969 It's bad if you disagree with the woke left. Then they try to censor you and make you lose your jobs. Those damn hypocrites lol
More like a prick.
How did such a cute little girl turn into the waste of space she is today?
You're poor chose ?
The boy still looks like a candid person nowadays, quite hanson. I don't know, Hollywood messes with people... although Tony Danza is still a joyful guy and Judith Light is still gorgeous and humble.
They're planning a reboot with a lot of the old cast. I'm pretty excited.
Do you really want to see the kids middle aged and the parents as senior citizens?
I've heard Judith and the boy are not going to star on the reboot. That's a nope for me, then.
Alyssa Milano said that in an interview recently with Drew Barrymore, I have not heard yet if Danny Pintauro or Judith Light would be interested, but Katherine Helmond passed away in 2019, I just heard she said she is in talks with Tony Danza......anyway, let's see what comes out of all of that.
"tomboys grow up..."
😮
Wow I can't believe she turned out to be the person she is. I feel sad for her
What makes you better than her or other people?
@@Michelle-pn9xt well actually that's her worldview. if you ever stop to listen to her for a few minutes you'll figure it out.
I just thought it was sad. She had everything that life could give her but instead she uses it for something other than making society a better place.
I remember that episode because it was possibley the most powerful episode they did. I hated the fact that they used a laugh track. I wish I could see a rebroadcast with that damned laugh edited out. The story of a man realizing that his daughter is no longer a little and a young woman is developing before his own eyes is also getting old is a powerful story and should have been treated as a drama. For that matter the entire show, "Who's the boss?" really was a commidy drama and not a sitcom and they should have treated it as such.
She was a cute little girl, then. But, she isn't a little girl anymore and not really very cute just mean hearted.
bitsnpieces11 Politics and Hollywood ruined her. She was nicer back then.

God i hope that the Who's the Boss reboot is good because some of these tv reboots has not been that good lately like the upcoming Saved by the Bell reboot on Peacock it looks like garbage this new upcoming Fresh Prince reboot as a drama series it going to be trash. The Punky Brewster reboot looks good.
They are rebooting Fresh Prince of Bel Aire. Some things just need to be left alone
@@dejeriyoung9872 i agree but this new Fresh Prince reboot is going to be a drama series instead of a sitcom it's going to suck bad.
A god good Actress.
She was my first TV girl crush and Drew Barrymore was my first movie girl crush.
Victor or Arnold would kill any man
Happy 48th birthday, Alyssa Milano! 🎈🎉🎂🎁
Now these people (Tony and Angela) Should've been named/credited as the best TV dad and TV mom, NOT Cliff and Clair Huxtable!
Even when Tony was feeling so hurt & afraid by Samantha's fancy dress/mature appearance he didn't berate or belittle her the way that Cliff and/or Claire Huxtable would've done -- and in fact they DID DO when Vanessa and her friends dressed up really provocatively and were singing the song "Locomotion".
I've never understood how Cliff & Claire Constable Huxtable are always called the best TV dad and best TV mom, when, As far as I can remember, Tony Miceli and Angela Bower never berated, insulted or belittled their kids, No matter how angry or upset they were. They were a million times better parents than Cliff and Claire Huxtable!
Yep
...to bad she grows up to think she's the boss...
Dad's never want there daughters to grow up my dad think I am 12 still smh
IKR
@@MsDisneylandlover I wish my dad was as caring... When I was 12 he seemed to believe I was 18 or 20, i guess. It's much better to have a dad who loves you and cuddles with you when you are little, who treats you like his cute little princess and protects you from any danger. Cause you can't have a second dad who would love you and be protective - only a boyfriend or a husband but that's obvsly a totally different thing...
Changing for your own perspective is fine, but changing for how people see you in different criticism which is something I despised the most. Samantha should stay who she was, just like that movie, '13 going on 30'.
Just proves that because they are cute while young it does not necessarily translate into adulthood. She's become a shrill, attention seeking hypocrite who, to quote Rose McGowan, said on set repeatedly "I'm not paid enough to do this shit!" -- while making $250K a week. Yeah, that's some real stuff there.
She is very cute now! I think you are seeking attention with this comment.

Awww this is when Alyssa Milano was cute and happy. Now, not so much.
She didnt even wear heels with the pretty dress
Why does it matter x
She is a kid. Kids do not need heels.
She still young. She can start wearing heels when she feels comfortable
They don't want the kids to grow up wow lol
I look at this scene as Tony being very progressive that he didn't like seeing Sam dolled up as an outdated caricature of a "proper" girl.
Tony made sure to raise Samantha without any gender boundaries; so that she would have confidence and liberation, a precious gift that most girls are not privileged with.
Wtf! What stupid things you say. Tony just doesn't want to accept that his daughter is growing up and that her "tastes" are changing. Now she wants to be more feminine and that implies that she will begin to look at boys and all that thing implies. It is what scares him and what every parent or older brother feels when they see their daughter / sister growing up.
“gender boundaries”. FFS.
How brainwashed you sound. He is just upset his little girl is growing up.
FunkYeah Agree
I hate it when the tomboys grow out of their age. It's terrible. I'm with Tony on this.
