Thus begins Goop's never ending quest for music. Seeking to consume countless employees across each moon in the star system for the sole purpose of battery acquisition. One slime against all odds, jamming out to sweet galactic tunes...but mostly just track 4.
It's not suppose to hurt you either, but the code got a wee bit scuffed so in order for it to work, you need to anger the slime and then wait till it calms down to properly pacify it.
This explains something to me. My friend recently became randomly invulnerable to a slime's damage. We were all confused why this was the case, but it was clearly a bug. I think I get how it happened now. For some reason the game must have thought he was using a boom box near it, so it made it passive to him.
That silence when he put away the boombox to deal with the Thumper felt perfectly like saying "how dare you interrupt us???" without the use of a single word
Apparently they are changing the Thumper with the new update, but I’m not sure on the specifics besides the fact that he loses speed when running into walls.
@@kitsicles111Thank God, it's a start at least. Most overtuned enemy in the game. They should just be like more dangerous landmines where they run you the hell down when they see you but *actually* lose speed around corners and quickly "forget" where you are because deaf as the bestiary implies.

It's fun seeing the enemies have weaknesses while still providing a challenge and being relevant to the gameplay. Also a fan of being able to emote while carrying an item with the other arm like the shimmy with the boombox.

Yes, people were so afraid and used to railing exploit they think they're no legit way lol. The thing is thumper's speed reset everytime it's hurt, so it's easy to keep a safe distance while wacking it. Also I love it when I kill one in public lobby and other are staring at me like I'm their guardian angel XD.
@@happygiggi4948Running circles around it, while whacking it, is also quite effective. Twice now I've gone in solo, with nothing but a shovel, while my friends cowered behind the entrance
its not supposed to hurt you, there is a typo in the code, BUT, if you smack the slime with a shovel, or make a flash explode next to it, then wait for it to stop being angry, and you start the boombox, then it doesnt hut you.

@@iamsherk2605 It's likely the INTENDED state was that slimes would be non-hostile if you had a boombox unless you had previously attacked them. That would make sense. Instead, they're only non-hostile when you have a boombox IF you previously attacked them. Flipped conditional.
A part of me hopes we get the ability to collect certain monster corpses to sell. Though in the Slime’s case, I would love the ability to make it drop some random item if you could pacify it fully.
The way you just took out the shovel, the music stops, you beat the Thumper to death, and immediately pull out the boom box again as the music continues is just PEAK comedic timing! XD
the shovel is actually a very reliable source of damage it deals 1 dmg to entities, most resistant in-door entity has 5 hp, strongest out-door has 12 hp the only shovel flaw, is the inconsistent hits and bad reach, but most killable entities can be killed if attackers hit their swings.
It's one of the only sources of damage the player has, you mean. It's great for handling thumpers and lootbugs. It can kill nutcrackers with those five swings and you can get their shotgun, really hard to pull off consistently though. Problem is there's still a lot of other very deadly enemies it can do nothing against.
Fun fact: slime is not corrosive itself, it releases digestive enzymes when someone touches it and that is what kills us, this is because when you stun it with a flash grenade it will no longer be able to harm you even if you touch it The same thing is supposed to happen when you play music with the boombox but it is bugged and the code does not execute
You know what would be incredibly wholesome? If it was possible to pacify every ebemy you came across in one way or another. Not easily and certainly not for any reason or reward (except your life) but I just find something so oddly sweet about the thought of all these horrible merciless monsters all having something that makes them stop and find some sort of peace.
Vibing with the ghost child would be funny cause only one person could see her- Also imagine if Jester could be "pacified" but its a facade and they still kill you later lmao
It'd be awesome if they made a creature that would actively help players and be able to go planet to planet with you if you kept feeding it scrap, like a "tameable" creature, but if it gets too hungry it turns ravenous and will attempt to eat you (unless you feed it scrap quick enough of course)
It sounds nice, but at the same time I feel like the game just wouldn't be the same if none of the enemies are just those simple brutal creepy monstrosities beyond full human comprehension that only exist to make your life harder (I'm okay with just a few of them being that way, I mean, the jiggly slime and the loot bug are already kinda that way)
Imagine if when a slime kills you because it absorbs your body, it could turn into an identical version of a crew mate. It could then be an imposter crew mate that doesn’t reveal itself instantly as to surprise players similar to the mimic although the mask wouldn’t be a give away
So far the only monster vs monster interactions I’m aware of is that the Eyeless dogs and Baboon hawks fight eachother, and the Leviathan can eat giants (only if the giant is baited into it, the worm won’t purposefully eat them)

In my experience everything the bestiary says is true to some extent unless it explicitly says it's a lie
First of all people don't read the Bestiary or get close enough to scan the creatures and it usually is a lot of text

The thumper accelerates like a jester at you. Hitting him resets his speed tho, which is laughably slow.
