I picked up my GEN 3 last Saturday on the jubilee bracelet with the rubber strap as a extra add on, I am over the moon with my purchase I don’t think you can beat the quality and price point on this GEN 3 example from Tudor. enjoy your video style and content 👍😁

Hi I was lucky enough to get rubber strap included in the price of the watch, I was offered the oyster bracelet version not a fan of the rivets on the bracelet, waited for the jubilee one and managed to get extra strap.

Will be getting my 2023 tudor burgundy black bay tomorrow and im so excited!
Got myself a Gen 3 two days ago, it fits so well and looks so good in person!
The Gen 3's movement is a major step forward in Tudor's plan to eventually upgrade and add value (aka price) to their current range of watches. The Gen 1 is a fine watch and uses the tried and tested workhorse ETA 2824, which features as the base movement in loads of brands - i.e Hamilton, Tissot, Steinhart, Doxa, other earlier Tudors and even Sinn. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, but progress is always welcome IMO. I myself still prefer Tudor's BB58. Each to their own.☺
I prefer the 58 but it's too small for me. This Gen 3 feels closer to the BB58 but it's wearable for me
Have the Gen 1. It was my wedding watch. Ideal timepiece is a Royal Oak brick (I've got nearly an 8 inch wrist)

I'm missing thickness comparison between gen1 and gen3. To me, it's an important factor and one of the reasons why I avoided gen 2 bb 41.
The lack of colored crown tube is a let down, the lack of rose logo as well. I guess I will keep looking for gen 1

@@mtbbiker6401 thank you! So interesting because I thought the gen1 was called “the slab” because it was so thick? But then they just increased the thickness of the newer generations?!
@@JoeyJiggles I think due to the new in-house movement. But then they slimmed it slightly with the same movement on gen 3. The gen 1 (2012-2016 ) uses an ETA 2824 based movement and has the "smiley" dial. I believe the actual case is similar in size but they added height to the case back in the gen 2 to accommodate the new movement.

I went out and bought the Gen 3 at the weekend, I fully intended getting it on the Jubilee bracelet but having tried it on, I went with the oyster instead, I much prefer it and I think it looks smarter (all about personal preference of course).

Picked up gen 3 today. I like the slimmer profile. Wears Better on my avg wrist. Not chunky. Love the slide clasp.
Do you think in time because the rose and smiley face the gen 1 will have better one term value as it was only made for less than a year making it a rarer piece ?

Sad that the man doesn’t believe in himself enough to do him. If you and I noticed he’s portraying AB, I’m assuming many others do as well. If imitation is the greatest form of flattery, then AB must of made an impression on this carbon copy smh 🤦🏽♂️. Perhaps soon he’ll be drinking coffees while making videos 😆
This brand keeps doing amazing things… i love it, i just bought the pelados 39 and i love it, the master chronograph is a bid step up, the pelados keeps amazing time and looks awesome.

one biggest negative on gen1 that no reviewers mention is the pointy clasp end design that actually scratches the center section of the bracelet link.
Same on my gen 2 also, it's very annoying

Both excellent watches. Impressive that Tudor can do the Metas and Cosc watch so affordably. I would add for now, since the value Tudor has offered us over the past few years will be hard to sustain. For now I'm torn between the new burgundy and the smooth bezel 39s.

I prefer the 58 over this one. Can't wait for Tudor to release a BB58 with the METAS certification. Would give me a reason to buy it in another color and add it to the collection

You probably figured it out by now, but the gen1 is 22mm lug width and the gen3 is 21mm lug width.
Do you prefer BB41 3 gen or pelagos 39 ? Thanks
I prefer the gen1 as all the upgrades are redundant to me. Tudor need to go back to the non faux rivet bracelet from the gen1 at least. Also if I need COSC/ METAS accuracy I just wear one of my quartz watches.
Used to have the Gen 1 BB black. Lovely watch but a bit big and for some reason the texture of the dial was, well, a bit boring and in some lights not that nice. Isn’t the gen 3 a subtle sunburst dial - that, the clasp and the fact it wears smaller are the big attractions for me. Should have kept smiley text !
Smiley dial is so much nicer.... and the design of the original is fantastic. If you could get the gen3 movement in the gen 1 I'd buy it tomorrow.

The BB burgundy 1 has more character, although the latest release is technically more impressive

The mark XX is and pretty small. If you have a large wrist it’s not the watch. While this feels a bit larger.
But both are fantastic watches

Shame there wasn’t a real mention on how they both wear on the wrist based on their thickness, as the gen 1 is thinner but the gen 3 looks like it could wear thinner
Gen 3 is 13.6mm definitely thinner than Gen 1.
@@Doggo-frencton That’s where you are wrong, Gen 3 is 13.6 and Gen 1 12.5 ish, but they have made the new one less slab sided.

My favourite watch to own is an Omega Seamaster Mk2 it's just an amazing beautiful watch. I would definitely have a Tudor over a Rolex though 😀
at the moment favourite luxury watch is omega seamaster 120m from 2006, old ish watch but its my birth year watch so a grail of mine :)

I have to agree with your view on the second hand, the snow flake has been a characteristic of the line for a while and although some have complained about the snowflake signature of hands on Tudor watches I don't recall many referring directly to the second hand, I'm not sure why they dropped it not just for this model but for other 2023 releases. The loss of the coloured crown tube is another one as I quite like this but I don't have too much of a huge problem with its deletion, I just prefer the old design. Overall the newer model is a plus given the METAS certification but some changes are not always positive ones. Many thanks for sharing.
so in other words I should wait for the Pelagos 39 with METAS certification.
I exclusively prefer vintage Rolex so the closer the Black Bay gets to the 1950s Submariners the better I like it. I'd like to buy a BB 54, put it in my drill press and put in through lug holes and it would be dam near perfect. The Jubilee version of the heritage 41mm has oval ends and is reminiscent of the 60s - 70s Rolex USA JB Champion which I find super cool and adds to the vintage effect. I even like old 5513s on them.
lug holes are the only way to go.
I like everything about the Gen3 better than the Gen1 other than I miss the smiley... Well, cost too, but ah well....

The silver snoopy is still available I think but bad luck the ck2998 is discontinued or try to find a second hand one. Get Speedy 57 with the blue dial is amazing

The thickness of the BB has always been a deal breaker for me. The polished slab side just makes it look thicker than it is. I'd be worried about hitting it on door frames, cars I walk past and knocking people over in the street 😂
My favourite watch at the moment is the much unloved Tudor Ranger 39.
The smiley dial is only 12.7mm thick. Chisholm seems to forget to tell people the dimensions that people care about. Height, lug width etc. Actually I think he is the most vague reviewer on RUclips. I've just unsubscribed.
I can't pick one fav only but I think I can limit the list to two. This Black Bay Gen 3 and the Cartier Tank Louis!

Gen 1 is still best. Gen 3 is technically superior in every category but I still prefer Gen 1.
gen 2 is a sweet spot
Gen 2 is the best its a chronometer and has the coloured tube at the crown, such a pity they removed the coloured tube on the gen 3
