These were one of Mom's favorite flowers and I have a few in my garden, she passed away in February this year and I miss her so much.... Thank you so much for your detailed video! Keep up the great work! ⚘
Why is it so satisfying to see you pull all those withered leaves and flowers from the pots? You were so good and quick at doing it, and bingo the plant almost look brand new and rejuvenated. 👍
Thank you for the show. It was useful. My three questions are: how do you cut back overgrown geraniums? When I do it whole stems dry down. Second question is that how tall should I let it grow ideally? My last question is what do I feed them? Cheers.
What can I add or do to help my geraniums grow and not get too wet? I’m putting them in a built in planter w no drainage. Just water sparingly? It’s in Southern California so it’s not really cold here. Should I get like PeteMoss ?
My geraniums I got last year . But now I get yellow edges on their leaves n no blooms . Is his due to overwatering or something else ? Please help.... I want to save them ...
I had great moments enjoying my geranium plants (over 100), I have used some fertilizers (npk and urea) together as an advice from a friend and now for a week or more non has bloomed at all...I live in an area where the temperature ca reach over 100 and very windy, with direct sunlight of almost 8+ hours a day. They all seemed healthy though. Any idea or advice what to do?
Extreme heat will slow and stress the plant. Shade for part of the day if possible. Try watering early morning and early evening to help with the stress on the plants.
Let geraniums complelely dry out before watering. Then fill the pot with water and be generous. A dry fertilizer 10-10-10 can be applied twice in the summer.
I was given one with spent flowers and so many yellow leaves that I trimmed everything off down to the stem. I have new leaves growing back now thankfully. My question is, how long after it leafs back out will I get flowers?
Great video! My problem though is I will start with a thick beautiful geranium, I consistently remove spent blooms and leaves , but as time goes by it always ends up thin an leggy. I have tried to cut them back in the past to stimulate new growth but I've yet to see them take off, they just stay "stumpy". What am I doing wrong?
I think you are using the same soil. You need to change the soil and not use same soil...also try growing new cutting in different pot.. should work hopefully..good luck!!
With the advancement of science n modernisation, even the plants are weakling like the humans.. I remember when I was a kid, we had geraniums in every house..nobody cared about the plants just planted them in the garden water them once in while, but they would still be healthy n blooming all the time. With time, so many artificially enriched soils, fertilisers n modified seeds has made the plants so weak, they just can't survive on their own..
I also thought great just what I need but only 6 videos? What’s happened? I hope you’re still in business following the trouble this year. Any chance of any new videos?
What causes the leaves to turn yellow and die off! Am I understanding that geraniums like to stay on the dry side? Give me a type of soil to get to keep them happy! Please respond!
Best I can tell is if you stick your finger in the soil and it's still wet an inch or so under the surface, then it doesn't need to be watered yet. Some people may only need to water once a week but My soil is really free draining and my water is super hot so I have to do mine more like twice. I saw somewhere that you don't really want a lot of peat moss in your soil because it holds water a bit too well but mine is happy. If it becomes an issue later I may mix some sand or something else into it.

Let them get pretty dry before watering, then water fully, but don't let them soak. Also, they must have drainage, so get pots with a hole and pan.

How do you over winter Geraniums??? Greetings from the UK.
I love geraniums but they always seem to get some sort of caterpillars🐛 on mine.
After few weeks they look terribly ill
Same here!

How often should you water the geraniums and what kind of fertilizer is best. I also live in Florida and when is the best time to grow geraniums

Dead heading and cleaning up goes without saying, but what about watering and feeding?

Usually 2 weeks for a full flower spike to appear
