Dang get this guy a pop-filter! Let me know if you have any questions about SLOG-2.
What’s the color mode settings after selecting pp7??
do you have to have your footage iso up a lot to work with the conversion lut
@@joshadventures2352depends on lighting conditions. If I’m outside. I usually don’t go past 800 and still need an ND filter. Inside or low-light I might go up to 3200 max
Probably a rookie question but how do I add the LUT to Adobe premier pro?
2024 reporting.. this free lut Timmy has is the ONLY one that actually works without having to tweak the crap out of it. It's a TRUE conversion LUT not an overly edited type like the other 50 I download that aint even working at all. This is PERFECT for us 8bit users. Sony A7Rii user here yes I know wrong camera for video but it's all I have until I can get a wide angle for real estate for my D7100
Bro I just applied that 709 Conversion LUT and it fit PERRRRFECTLY on my footage, like zero adjustments to make. WHOA that's wild man, just searched for dope content online and found yours. This made my day, b/c I was like 40 minutes into tweaking 709 recovery from SLOG2 and was getting frustrated. Lo and behold you saved the day w/ a simple LUT. I'm using this for everything man, thanks a million! +1 Like, +1 Subscriber!
Hellll yes man! So glad it worked out for you.
great video dude, I've watched like six of these today and you are by far the most no nonsense/let's just get to what, why, and how - very much appreciated

Really useful workflow. Thanks for taking the time to make the video!
Thanks for watching!
Amazing tutorial. Clearly explained and demonstrated. Easily understood and simple to follow.
thanks you bro.love u
Dude one of the best tutorials on colour grading I’ve seen in a long time and will definitely take some of these tips and try them 👌👌👌
Amazing! Glad you enjoyed Josh and thanks for watching.
I’ve actually never seen anyone color correct quite like this before. Your end result is flawless! Yet you don’t follow standard color correction steps which is really interesting I think. Typically everyone I know (including myself) drops the blacks until they’re just above 0 and get the whites just below 100. You had your white well below 100 ire but the image is so beautiful. I guess that just goes to show you don’t always have to do things by the book.
Color grading is totally subjective! As long as you’re happy with it, that’s all that matters.
@@TimmyLodhi 🙌🏻
Dude this helped me a lot, really...thank you for your simple way of explaining!

This channel is G O O D
😎
Thank you
These tips and the Lut are such a dream thank you so much! You took my videography to the next level for myself!😍 Can you do a "not overexposed slog 2 lut" and "underexposed slog 2 lut"? Would be amazing!😁
So great to hear! I think that's a good idea. It'll take a bit of testing but it might be something I can work on soon.
@@TimmyLodhi Perfect! I subscribed so im hyped for upcoming content. Keep on going with this amazing content!😊
thanks for this bro, you deserves more subscribers, newbie here
THIS was pretty helpful 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks my man. Glad it helped
may you share your Slog 2 settings ?
Hey! I use the standard PP7 profile. No changes made to the settings
great video mate, great footage.
Thanks my friend!
Thanks a lot.
thank you for the lut man!
I love this
This was awesome to watch, thank you. New sub
Appreciate it!
Small fine tune adjusments like the pushing up the yellow col is better to do after(layer above) applying conversation lut. It makes much more precision results.
Makes alot of sense
Thanks! Very helpfull lut :)
Glad it helped!
Beautiful Footage Timmy! Thank you for the tutorial. Do you have one for SLOG-3?
I don’t at the moment. Maybe that’ll be my next video. 😉
great video and a new sub :D
Awesome!
Nice Man
Absolutely love your work! Very appreciative of how you guide. I realize this is an older video but 1: Are you always utilizing a rec709 lut before bringing in a stylized lut? 2: I know in another video you discussed possible doing a piece on false color and waveform monitoring. Did that ever make it to fruition?
thanks a lot bro
Always welcome!
Thankyou for the lut sir
Awesome! Wich color gamma you use in your S-Log 2 videos?
PP7- SLOG2 (no tweaks made)
Brother thank you so much!
Thank you my man!
¡Muchas gracias!
Thank you so much!
nice job mate, thx
Really great video! As a beginner, these tips are SUPER helpful. I did have one question in regards to using ISO. Is it better to crank up the ISO if there isn't enough light in your footage? In your video at 2:01 you mentioned you could have made another video about this. Thanks again for all the knowledge you've provided.
It's always a fine balance. If you don't have enough light, I highly suggest cranking the ISO to compensate. But there's a limit to how high you can go before you end up with a noisy image. So try to judge each location as best as you can.
awesome, thanks!
do you have video of how you created this specific "underexposed" LUT because it a bit too underexposed for me and i want to make some changes.
I use to use Premier Pro but started to have a significantly difficult time rendering the final product, colors were completely off. Now I'm using Davinci and finding it to be effortless. I do like your workflow here, just not comfortable with PP to render correctly anymore.
I know a lot of people that have rendering issues with the final color, especially on Mac. I use a PC and have a Samsung 4K monitor which actually gives me super accurate colors on export to what I see in Premiere.
thanks for sharing,. keep the nice job
This all is incredible information! Has to be the most informative video I've found on RUclips. Only issue I would be worried about is encountering grain when upping the ISO. What would I do in that situation?
That's the interesting thing. Sometimes upping your ISO actually decreases the amount of noise you get in your shadows. That's why people talk about overexposing SLOG-2 by 2 stops.
It's all about balance. Try increasing your ISO and overexposing without clipping your highlights and compare it to an underexposed image. You'll probably notice the first one looks better.
For the most part, Sony cameras have great noise performance. You can get close to 6400/8000 ISO before it really starts looking bad.
@@TimmyLodhi I never knew this! This is all really interesting to me and I really can't thank you enough for the all the information. I've been wanting to increase my knowledge a lot. Would you be willing to answer a few other questions I have on Instagram about this stuff?
@@TimmyLodhi What are your zebra settings?
@@lucabudgen Zebras are set to 100+ so I know anything past 100 is clipping
@@TimmyLodhi Thanks I found the answer about setting up zebra.
