Damon and Elena are still alive LOL, but dont appear in Legacies. In the end of the Vampire Diaries, it said that they lived a long happines life, they died of old age. So, they have even a child and are still alive in Legacies, not dead yet. The Salvatore boarding school is not in memory on them:)) Damon donate the house in memory of Stefan.
