I actually really like this bar. I think it's like a dusky dawn painting. I think it turned out really well, Happy Little Accidents as Bob Ross would say
i understand they diddnt turn out the way you wanted to but the colors still look stunning together!! people who love pastel colors will love this one!!!!!!
You are the Bob Ross of soap. There are no mistakes, only Happy Accidents! Plus, actual sweet pea flowers come in those colors, so you've basically made the soap the colors of the flower :)
While I would love to buy these soaps for a discounted price, I really think that this is the absolute best use for them. One of my friends had to stay at a domestic abuse shelter and they were always needing toiletries and cleaning products. Soap isn't the kind of thing you grab when you're fleeing your home at 3 a.m. and it does wonders for making you feel human again, especially when you've been degraded for years.
a lot of times soap makers cut up soaps like this and will use them as decor in other soups. i think donating them would be good, but i believe to donate from a at home shop like this their is probably some paper work thats needs to be done to ensure the soap is safe ect. i would love to see it donated, idk how it actually works tho? either way i think if i start making soap in bigger batches like this i might go adn contact a dontation center adn see how donation would be done
The silver turned a lilac color on camera, does it look more silver in person? I don't at all dislike the color combination as it turned out, to be honest. The cream and the cantaloupe work nicely together and the purple goes well with the cantaloupe as a contrast. What was the scent again? I'd never know that was an accidental loaf if you didn't explain in a video.
I am an artist and i think I know what the problem is.. Your soap base is a light yellow tone so when you add pink you get a peach..Try adding titanium white, blending, and add color to suit but I LOVE this bar just as it is. I'm going to try this in a glycerine melt and pour.
The only issue with that would be the titanium white still diluting it. She probably just should add more of the micah color(maybe a brighter one if it still doesn't work) in order to actually achieve the color shift she was aiming for
This isn't about colour theory. It was the fragrance oil that didn't work well with the pigments. I think the soap maker would know what exactly went wrong instead of "an artist".

Failure or not - the finished bar is gorgeous! You should def use the "silver" (🤣) for some other soap in the future - maybe a lilac, a pastel sunset (google them!) Or a rendition of the glitterati soap?
Finally opened the box of soaps I bought for my kids’ Christmas stockings! I waited all this time bc I knew I’d be too tempted to show them if I unboxed them before Xmas eve! It was SO STINKIN’ cool knowing you had made these, Katie! I’m not usually one to get star struck, but I was pretty giddy opening these! My youngest and I watch every video. She will be SO excited when she pulls them out of her stocking in the morning!! Much love & Merry Christmas from Indiana!♥️🎄
I think the end result is still lovely honestly. Like its not what you had in mind, but call it like 'Spring Bouquet' or something and itd be perfect. It looks so soft and pastel, really reminds me of a delicate bouquet of flowers.
This is actually very beautiful!!! And sweet pea is such a fitting scent for the colors. I would personally buy this. It reminds me of a beautiful sunrise, and maybe replace the cream color with a pale yellow! Perfect for a spring release!
Rose quartz, as i've always seen don't generally have gray in them, I've always seen them pink with white trails in them, If i were you and remaking this soap, I wouldn't add the gray i would stick to a nice light rosy pink and maybe just a white and maybe like a sparkley pink mixed in. I don't think this soap is ugly though at all
I think that this is one of my favorite soaps you’ve ever made. CORRECTION! THIS IS my favorite soap you’ve ever made. I love the muted colors and the purple/blue color and melon color are so pretty!! My second favorite is definitely Amethyst tho!
The term "gem" is usually used to describe a crystal that is seperated from the rock it came from and polished or refined in some way. They're so pretty tho!!!, and the purpley pinks are exactly how pea flowers look when they bloom so it's fitting that you used sweet pea fragrance oil!!! happy accident? ¿
would it have worked if you used titanium oxide first and then mixed in the colorants? i’m thinking the yellowish tone of the oils overpowered the pink pigments since they weren’t that strong. idk anything about soap and colorants, i’m just thinking in art terms here
Sweet pea fo matches the colors very well! Very cool and springy. Shame about oleander, but still nice. At least it didn't turn black or poopy brown with the pastels!

you mixed yellow based colors (the rose gold and baby pink) with bluish purpleish based colors, that's why they turned out so opaque. it' the magic of the color wheel. Complementary colors when mixed create an odd brown.
I like that you showed a mess up. It shows us that things aren’t always perfect. With editing now days I think it’s really important for people to understand. Plus you were able to still create a beautiful soap. Thank you for sharing!

The fail is that soap didn’t turn out as designed. Not that it’s not a great looking soap, because it is!
its not HER fail its the mica color failing to work as advertised they are still pretty
to be fair cantelopes are orange on the inside, and that almost turned the perfect shade of orange.
i was just thinking, it turned exactly the color of cantaloupe flesh so yeah it's named properly imo
I thought the same thing!
The soap actually fits the sweet pea fragrance I think it looks like what a sweet pea looks like I really like it
Try putting some of your white in the base soap before that Oleander pink, maybe it'll make a difference? Do a tiny test of it.
This was my thought also.
I thought of this as well. At least in painting and makeup a white base makes colours on top of it more vibrant.
