Mine was too, I was 17, my mother is also a narcissist and I’ve dealt with that for 23 years so extensive history with narcissists, but the thing is I don’t see any narcissistic traits in Amber, not enough to match that symptom cluster anyway, I think she has a bit of vanity and a few alignments, but definitely not enough to be narcissistic so these comments about her always confuse me. Her diagnosis of BPD also states the opposite, Borderline personality disorder is the inverse of narcissistic personality disorder, it’s usually as a result of narcissistic abusive. They’re polar opposite disorders and you cannot have both, BPD is literally the inverse of NPD, BPD hate bomb, NPD love bomb. I see hate bombing in Amber, not love bombing so I definitely wouldn’t say she’s narcissistic I’m sorry.
I find it super weird we can all implicitly say she hate bombs yet give her a diagnosis for the opposite, it doesn’t make sense. But I also do feel like we are way too quick to diagnose such a complex, intricate disorder like narcissism, I’ve been around it for my entire life through my mother and I know I wouldn’t feel comfortable diagnosing someone I’d never met in real life or even someone I had only met a few times with it because there are so many symptoms that aren’t on face value and I also don’t have the qualifications to be out here labelling everyone j see as abusive a narcissist. We wouldn’t diagnose PTSD or BPD so I don’t know why we all think we can diagnose NPD which is a lot more complex to diagnose. Sorry even if you’ve had experience with it I just think that’s weird, I’ve had my entire life living with one and wouldn’t feel comfortable diagnosing that so I do find it strange and tbh, a bit wrong.
You also just can be manipulative without being a narcissist, it’s an entire symptom cluster, people can have narcissistic tendencies without actually being narcissists and again, I don’t think she has nearly enough of the symptoms within that cluster
She loved what he had, his lifestyle, she doesn’t know the difference between loving a person and having that person.
Case in point: going on about Johnny’s private island and how wonderful it was, she ends with “I fell head over heels for this man.” Sure the jury picked up on that.

Everything about her demeanor and how she moves her face is utterly hilarious. She thinks she's in a movie role, where most of hers her expressions have to be large and exagerrated to come across well on screen. She can't convey real emotions about her stories because she has no real emotions in her stories. The only time it's noticeable she actually feels an emotion is when she's interrupted or recalls how Johnny would escape her.

Very simple superficial things I know for sure, not only because of my professional training but for being a PTSD survivor:
You don't casually name your abuser by their name.
You avoid looking at your abuser.
You avoid telling details because the alarms of the nervous system go off, and you begin to relive in your body the scene as if it were happening in the present moment, and then you can't even speak.
You avoid relating the events with emotion (for the same reason).
You don't need to be trained by a psycho-psychologist to give a testimony describing all the aspects that are involved in 'trauma bonding' so you can interchange the roles and narrate the story at your convenience.
This lady is acting, and acting very badly. All of Johnny's movements are typical of PTSD.

At the very end of her testimony today.. When she mentioned his daughter Lilly Rose who was "crying and afraid of her father"... Johnny's entire demeanor changed.. and for the first time I saw him genuinely angry.. He was fuming and he looked up at her for a good 2 seconds.. After that he was doing a lot of self pacifying motions while staring blankly near her... He just looked so angry that she brought his daughter into her lies...
