To be fair, it's 60 years since the US Invasion, and next year will be 60 years since Rubber Soul. I wouldn't mind a proper early tracks Super Deluxe, still
It just seems like Giles Martin wasn't available to do a remix and apple panicked and said let's do the US albums. But this year would've been perfect for a 1964 Boxset with a remix of hard days night and Beatles for sale, a double album of outtakes, both albums in mono and a singles collection LP with stereo remixes on side A and the mono mixes on side B. Idk I just think this announcement was a let down, hopefully we finally get rubber soul next year for the 60th anniversary.
The Beach Boys are ahead of The Beatles when it comes to allowing fans to listen to listen to both the mono and stereo mixes of albums that have it. Even having older remasters is a nice touch.
This Beatles American reissue for me was not unexpected, I’ve been anticipating this release since the beginning of the year! I have Preordered my Box set!
As an American, I'm always intrigued about UK fans' opinions on the US releases. As with most Beatle fans, we just try to get as much Beatles music as possible. In addition to the US and UK albums, I also really enjoy German Beatles albums
My eldest sister gave me several of the original US releases when she married and moved away in 1968. I was nine and off to a good start. As far as Mono is concerned... I completely lost hearing in my right ear ten years ago. Mono is the only thing that works for me when I use headphones.
@@clynaackThanks for asking. I''m just not that interested in The Beatles' Story because the additional cost to get it and the box seems high. What are your plans for this set?
I live in the USA and I personally find this one kinda useless, I understand how international markets could find this helpful. But, I could go down to my local record shop and get near mint copies for $15
yeesh, two years since a real remastered album :/ I would've preferred they save stuff like this and the Red & Blue album until AFTER they finish remixing all of the main UK releases (At least Rubber Soul and MMT), though I understand that Now And Then is the main reason R&B happened.
You missed the memo; these are all the albums released in the US by the Beatles only in 1964: this helps re-establish the copyright as it has been 60 years. So dont be surprised to see a release next year of Help and Rubber Soul.
And add those 4 songs from “Yellow Submarine” since we already have “Strawberry Fields Forever” and “Penny Lane” and redo “I Am The Walrus” at least the ending, i really think Giles was like..🤷🤷♂️🤷🤷♂️🤷🤷♂️🤷 and was trying anything at this point.
Mono uk albums for me and stereo white album abbey and let it be.I don't care for the remixes. But unreleased stuff i like. They are taking way to long to bring it all out. I think the remix albums should of been a separate project.
Why are the Brits so into these US releases. Of course, most Americans I know, have moved on and have no interest in them. The American versions of the songs were different because Capitol Records added reverb and echo, to create full stereo versions. Many of the mono releases were 'fold-down', the stereo mixes copied to mono. I remember when CDs came out. I got a player for the Beatles' releases. I was so impressed with the increased sound quality, that I never bought another LP.
@@clynaack I admit. If this were CDs, I'd be all over them. I'd love holding them in my hands. I'm tempted by the Meet the Beatles and the Sgt Pepper LPs. We had Meet the Beatles in the house as a kid and Sgt Pepper is just so epic looking.
If you want it on cd check out The Capitol Albums, Volume 1 and 2 they have versions of the albums in mono and stereo. Not sure how much they go for these days though
@@clynaack I bought those when they first came out. I got the US Albums too, even though they were just the 2009 UK mixes. As I said though, I'm not interested in vinyl anymore. Although Meet the Beatles and Sgt Pepper....
The British in general are indifferent to these albums. A lot of them won't even know about these records. It's like stepping into a parallel universe when hearing the mixes for the first time after a lifetime of having the real albums.
That reminded me, I've seen some people suggest that we could even get a rubber soul and help combined set since their isn't really enough outtakes from rubber soul to make a double LP. But I would have to look into that a little more
I really hope they're doing what you said they might be doing with Rubber Soul. I was kind of dissapointed with the remixes we got on Red and Blue, especially In My Life, and for most of the remixes that we first heard there, some of them just sound off to me, especially All My Loving. On basically all of them the kick drum sounds off to me, too much "bounce" or something. It's gotten to the point where I'm more excited to get the mono versions on streaming than I am the remixes.
Is it just me or feels like Apple is hit or miss on anniversary releases Because hopefully we get a rubber soul box set in their new remixed form next year but idk if we will
Why isn't the very first album from (vee Jay) not included. The only album that was on United Artists was the soundtrack to a hard days night ,the rest were on capitol records in the u.s.
Id like to see four albums each Beatles songs chronologically i made my own George playlist starting with don’t bother me cover could be laid out like let it be but each picture could be same person thru time. meet bestles cover/rubber soul pic/ white slbum pic then lady madonna pic
this really is nice, but I have the US CD sets, and I have all the albums in mono and stereo - I just don’t need this. I’m getting older and trying to declutter, but a new McCartney would suit me nicely.
Yeah I was debating bringing them up in the video but it felt kinda out of place especially since I am talking vinyl. I still think the cd sets are a great way to listen to all that though
@@clynaack We shall see if they will. That would have been the reason for me to even think of buying any new beatles material.Just hoping for a flat transfer of this album and not a remix.Waiting to see if the new set would be available as ia single release just to replace my old hard days night that i've had as a kid that's worn out.
@@clynaack Apple to had to recall the initial copies of the Capitol Albums Volume 2 back in 2006. "I'm Looking Through You" didn't have the false start! I still have both editions of Volume 2.
Apple made a real mess re-releasing the red and blue albums, and also with Now & Then. It seems they are disconnected from the real world and music business nowadays.
I agree with red and blue because I think they should have waited until they had properly remixed all the albums before doing something like that. But I think now and then was an appropriate release
This is for the year 1964. Rubber Soul didn't come out until 1965. Why they're coming out with a MONO version f The Beatles Story? I mean, it's a SPOKEN WORD ALBUM!
it would be funny that you said "in the left and in the right" in this and I would've commented about it being clever, but my headphones are broken so I only heard "in the left" and got confused, I really hope you did do that or else this comment would be stupid
To be fair, it's 60 years since the US Invasion, and next year will be 60 years since Rubber Soul. I wouldn't mind a proper early tracks Super Deluxe, still
Never considered that rubber soul is 60 next year. That could make a lot of sense why they are delaying it
@@clynaack Take it from a Yank, "Aye!"
Anthology's anniversary coming up too, but I have my fingers crossed for Rubber Soul next year.

They’ll probably make us wait until 2034 for that 🙄.

Very true, although it naturally feels less organised on their page so I hope streaming services do something to help organise it all

💯💯💯💯💯 I want Rubber Soul
we want rubber soul... we all want rubber soul!
Completely agree. Anything else is a complete ripoff !
I also want A Hard Day's Night, Beatles For Sale and With The Beatles etc. This all gets delayed.
I look forward to buying these individually. I've been waiting for them for years.
What makes you want to go for them all individually and not with the set? Just out of curiosity

Rubber Soul was finished two years ago, they are sitting on the release date, I hope it’s soon , can’t wait
I hope your right! 🤞
I guessed that Rubber Soul is delayed from MAL not being available earlier this year due to having improvements done to it.
Ah interesting
The Capiphone project is awesime!!Hopefully next year.

it is a lovely box for completists and i would like to get it but it is too expensive at this point. nice video. hope you enjoy it.
If it goes the way the 2014 mono vinyl release went, this is the cheapest they will ever be.
I was thinking that. Although wasn't the 2014 somewhat limited and thats why it's price has skyrocketed?
@clynaack Yeah. The question is, are they gonna limit this one too?
It doesn't say anywhere but I bet it is somewhat limited
