Love the "What the fuck was that?! Ah, he waved, it's alright"
This is me, everytime. You own your fuckup and apologise, all is forgiven
I once misread lanes and nearly sideswiped someone. Guy pulled up at the lights just up the road looking ready to fight. I just held my hand up in apology and all was forgiven.
Exactly this, everyone makes a mistake, own it and there's no problem.
The three driving goof responses - ignore, abuse, apologise.
if someone gets angry even if you apologise then they're soulless dogs.
5:05 is the most aussie response possible, be angry at someone who made a mistake and then instantly forgive them when they wave in apology
If you look closely his side marker is flashing as he cuts across. Either he admits fault due to the dangerous overtake (not knowing his light is dead), or he knows his light is dead and admits fault..
@@ak_kalmar You can just see the rear indicator also working at the same time.
The problem was cutting off the vehicle that was right there - either misjudged the gap, didn't see, or didn't look.
Edit: or didn't care.
Should've reworded my comment.@@EnergiserX Yeah just a really tight gap that wasn't very mindful, probably didn't look and realised it after the fact.
so long as I get a wave I'm happy.
Yeah in most situations if someone shows some sign of realising they were in the wrong and are sorry it’s a much better feeling than the ones who give the finger and slam on the brakes. We all make mistakes.
@10:05 that 2019 Ford Ranger CAL 92G with the grub launching the rubbish out the window. If I was the person who submitted that to the DCOA I would have also spent 60 seconds submitting an online EPA report to get that tosser a handy dandy littering fine. All the evidence required is right there. Do it.

Everyone should give Yannec Construction Sydney a call and ask if he has learnt how to drive yet

The ammount of company vehicles just ignoring the road rules is amazing
Nothing new. The knobhead that wrote off my last car and the one behind me by ramming into us from behind said "Oh well, it's a company car, their insurance will pay". Then lied about where he lived and buggered off before firies and towies turned up, probably because the other guy wanted to call the cops and tradie knob didn't want his phone record interrogated.
Just the thing to send in to OHAS as their penalties are heavier than a traffic fine. A company vehicle is a "work place" and can carry heavy penalties for unsafe work practice. Even if it is the drivers personal time (weekend/public holiday) off it is still a "work vehicle".
crazy to me how many vehicles have their phone number or website or review page on their work truck and then drive like the most roided out dickhead on the planet..
8:44 if you had time to hit the horn, you had time to hit the brakes
It's possible to do both.

“I GOT KIDS IN THE CAR CXNT!” Yeah, you should both probably slow down and chill out there…
Isn’t it embarrassing that women of Australia talk like that, not to mention infront of her children

Congratulations, Australia. This video has been the most maddening of the week by far
Yep, and it will only get worse as time goes on
it amazes me how many people road rage over being legally overtaken when they're doing 10+ below the speed limit
Which video?
I think the one at 6:10? Maybe? They were clearly doing 90km on a highway.
They road raged at being dazzled with the high beam
6:10 They were going 90 then 100. Does anyone know the limit there?
@@sop1311 I’m assuming the speed limit is 100, not sure of the road to check and can’t see the signs. But my comment is about them brake checking the dash cam driver, they didn’t do that because they were about to be overtook, they did it because the dash cam driver purposefully dazzled them with the high beams and then exclaimed their children were in the car (despite engaging in road rage behaviour).

Target fixation - so distracted looking at the old car that he almost drove into it
I have the same problem when I drive a 1928 Chevrolet. People don’t realise they’re heading for what they’re staring at. You also get the clowns in an adjacent lane who look at the car and not the road, and drift across into you. They think the horn is “cute” when you honk it at them to get away from you. I really need to run a dashcam in it to catch all the stupid crap it seems to attract, but having a 6V electric system makes that a difficult task unless I wire up a step-up transformer, or perhaps I should just get a GoPro.
99% sure that is staged. Go Pro on the outside of the car makes it look closer than it really is. Low speeds, high visibility, remote road. I'm not buying it
@@commodorenut Most - if not all - consumer-level dashcams operate from a USB power supply, which is 5 volts DC. Since your '28 Chevy is a 6-volt system, you could probably get away with adding a diode inline with the camera's power lead (standard silicon diodes drop 0.7 volts, getting your supply voltage down to 5.3 volts, which should be safe) or you could also wire in an inexpensive 7805 (5-volt voltage regulator) to give you a 5-volt source.
@@dashcamandy2242 mate, you just gave me the biggest facepalm moment! I didn’t even think of the 5V requirement. You’re spot on. That makes it a lot simpler. It runs around 7.2v when driving, so I might use a basic voltage reg module and give it a consistent feed. Actually, I might try one of those cheap surface mount USB sockets that have flying leads on them, and can be hooked up to 12 or 24v (so they obviously have some sort of regulator in them). They’re cheap, and I can see if it works on 6-7V. Thanks for the tip.

Why are authorities the country over so surprised that our road toll is increasing despite cars being safer than ever. All they need to do is watch ONE episode of DCOA and they will know the answer

Driving skills have deteriorated significantly over the years, I notice. The authorities need to revamp how drivers are learning, and tested over a period, rather than a one time test. Also, mandatory advanced driving course should be implemented. I will not be surprised, if road toll rises, if this is not fixed.
And no more testing in languages other than English.
@@neilr4867 Was this ever a thing? But you don't need to speak english to be a good driver.
speed cameras dont stop all this shit from happening, the police need to get back to patroling to stop all this.
But but speed kills!
Speed cameras are nothing more than revenue raising devices on steel poles, linked to government coffers. Getting a ticket 3 weeks later in the mail is no different to going off at a dog for pulling a towel off the clothesline 3 weeks after the event.
They seem to be protecting the mentally ill just no one else. Its a woke thing. 😂
The police are out there as much as they ever have been. The cameras havre nothing to do with police operations.
@@darrenwalker6854america has its faults, but in many states, speed cameras aren't one of them. it's not uncommon for a speed camera to be installed, only to mysteriously keep getting damaged until the city stops trying to repair it lol
I love Model-T Dashcams Australia!
Motorists Of Australia ..
A vital improvement you should make to your vehicle, is a 150 Decibel horn, ... "Be Heard" ... "Avoid Accidents"!
8:42 I am sure you will be so happy to know that your wasted time will result in someone telling you that it was the other vehicle who had to give way to you.
Hey mate, I'm the dash-cammer! It wasn't a waste thankfully, the lady was very apologetic and admitted fault to the insurance and is paying for the damage. It was a genuine mistake on the other car's part- I was already fully in the roundabout, she didn't look and just kept going. I was lucky she was honest, could've gone much worse if she hadn't stopped.
@@darcy5283 yeah, I'm not understanding all these comments. You were 100% fully in the roundabout and it was the other drivers fault
@@vanessagoddess1 Thanks. There's stuff I could have done better, which is why I posted it in the first place. I learnt a lot from just one crash, and from the sheer amount of knee-jerk comments I got in return, many others could learn a lot too. No one was hurt, cars can be fixed, water of a duck's back in my opinion.
@@darcy5283 thanks for posting. Clearly she was in the wrong, but that doesn’t stop a crash. Always brake first, use the horn when you’re safe.
@@darcy5283good attitude. Don’t worry about the jerks, RUclips comments are usually pretty feral. Amazing how many people that comment that have never made a mistake and learned from it.
19:35 let me translate
"I'm scared driving behind tradies in utes, they always be speeding and brake out of no where"
My hero
I love what the drivers say, often a real rage or sometimes, understated. Makes me laugh.
To this day, it still amazes me seeing the number of people going the wrong way down a road and/or highway.
And the alarming thing is.... It's happening more as the years go on, not less.
But what is really worrying is the fact that even when people notify them with a beep, (when they are coming right at them) they keep going, either because of complete stupidity and/or because of pride, instead of doing the right thing and turning around like they should.
Am I tripping? Or is RUclips broken?
People in the comments are mentioning time stamps above 10-20 minutes? And the video is 11:04.
I watched the first 20 seconds of the video and paused, came back and it was on a different clip but still same video. The thumbnail clip was in the first 10 seconds: A helmet cam view of someone driving some old classic car nearly getting into a head collision. And now the first 10 seconds is some cut clip with random honking. I dont know at this point😂.
See other comments. It was edited to remove a video.
11:18 - those lycra-clad pigeons of the road are a menace!
Sir this video is only 11 minutes and 4 seconds long. There is no 11:18...
@@Jonesy1701 - no its not, it is 25:49. I'm re-watching is now.
@@Dynamaso Now it is, yes, but at the time it was 11:04.
@@Jonesy1701 if that were indeed the case, then why would I have entered the time I did? Wouldn't make any sense, would it?
@@Dynamaso Well... it was the case lol... And yes, it wouldn't make any sense, which is why I thought I should let you know.
The kangaroos have got more brains than some of those drivers
I am not one to wish misfortune upon anyone... But I'll assume that I wasn't alone, when I was hoping to see a vehicle of high structural integrity appear abruptly in the oncoming lane at 11:33?
06:07 maternal instincts kicked in. Count.
As cars became more powerful and capable, margin of safety diminshed. Add automation, safety aids encourages a cocktail of overconfidence, arrogance, aggressive driving, distractions, removal from reality and lower driving ability with higher speeds (esp acceleration) is a disaster.
Add even more power and instantaneous delivery with Ev's and zero sound for pedestrians to be alerted by, will be an ever increasing train wreck.
To your point about arrogance etc I once witnessed this fwit on the M4 in Sydney in a late model Merc using the feature (whatever it's called) that stop you from rear ending someone. I'm sure he just had his foot flat to the floor the whole time and was just relying on that feature as he weaved through traffic. He came so so close to rear ending so many cars. The worst thing is on average he was only doing maybe 3kph faster than I was at traffic speed.
17:25 This road used to go from 3 to 2 to 1 where only the far left lane turned left and rejoined the Sunshine Motorway but now it has both lanes turn left, another lane appears and then disappears before getting on the bridge. Confuses anyone like me used to the old layout hence old mate having to cut over lanes. Still doesn't excuse his behaviour, I feel like I see this car around Maroochydore pretty common.
That woman screaming at 13:13 scared the crap out of me!
