However, this is Australia and giving the merging vehicle right-of-way is exactly why they have problems like this.
@@sarcasticguy4311 You are right about the zipper merge, it relies on people displaying common sense & some good will. When merging from the left you must ensure you have a space to merge into which is a civil way of doing this & compliant with the rules, but there is always the possibility of some pig accelerating from behind into the space you reasonably thought you had so I make sure I have moved over to the right well before anyone has a chance to force me into the gutter.Easier said sometimes but I try to think ahead. In this case it is a road works zone with a reduced speed limit & no zipper lane, my bet is there will be a sign stating form one lane, the response from both the old fart in the high viz & the cam driver was way over the top.My motto on the roads is let them go, let them go, let them go.All this aggro, likely injury, police involvement over a car length.

because you have common sense, it's a feeling of common sense. it's true in 99% of cases, all the aggressors claim they were the victim. most also lie about any raging, they claim they were calm and didn't do or say anything. what still shocks me, is how people don't realize that almost everyone has dashcam these days. lot of modern cars have built-in cams already, yet they rage and blame others for their own mistakes ... like what is the point? ITS ON CAMERA! you can lie all you want .. police can just look at the footage. those people are literally like flat-earth level dumb, they probably have never been on youtube either and think it's all a myth and cameras don't exist.

My theory is that they’re sitting on 11 demerit points so they’re scared to speed, but then you overtake them to do the speed limit and their ego gets bruised so they have to prove to you that they’re actually more of a man than you, despite what they think you may have thought when overtaking them 😂😂

@@arkayenro8225 yes but it has to deemed reasonable force. Crushing him with a car is potentially deadly force level. It's a grey area there but I wouldn't want to take that chance with the legal system. But like that recent one I think was Melbourne or Adelaide where the guy died being dragged by the ute, the other guy had gotten out and reached in apparently and the guy who drove off was charged for manslaughter because they dragged him with their car. Similar arguments to here, someone reached in to possibly assault, injured/killed as a result of the other person driving away.

Third, the guy that got ran over is totally his own fault for getting out of his car. You step out of your vehicle in a threatening manner then I'm assuming you're a threat and will be treated as such.
However, this is Australia and giving the merging vehicle right-of-way is exactly why they have problems like this.
@@sarcasticguy4311 You are right about the zipper merge, it relies on people displaying common sense & some good will.

@@arkayenro8225 yes but it has to deemed reasonable force.
Crushing him with a car is potentially deadly force level. Which means the DC driver needs to be able to honestly say he was in fear for his life/safety etc.
But in context there is room for him to continue straight/some room on the left to drive away so he wasn't required to attack back either. It's a grey area there but I wouldn't want to take that chance with the legal system. Plus we only saw a recent snippet, there could be more further back down the road that changes the story either direction too.
