- This is a quick video that shows how we created and installed the window awnings on our Casita RV. We only show one window in the video but all three windows now have awnings. We purchased all of the materials from www.sailrite.com . If you do not feel comfortable sewing your local upholstery shop should be able to create the awnings and you install them.
Visit our website at: www.casitarvli... or www.amazon.com...
for links to the items we use in our Casita.
Haven't gotten around to this project yet. By the time that we completed Route 66, we had had it our bathroom door in our ID model and took it off. It was always in the way of the kitchen and our blind dog's water bowl. Now I have to add some wood trim to hide the screw holes which are bothering me to no end. As always, thank you for sharing!
Your welcome
Very nice work, thanks for sharing.
Thank you too!
great video and idea. I really enjoy watching yer videos. Maybe one day I'll upgrade from my SylvanSport Go.
Thanks
Very cool little addition! What are those little snap clips called you used to tighten that string ? Thanks for sharing!
I bought them from sailrite.com. it is called a Nylon Hook for Inflatable Boat
Question: Is they main purpose of doing this for shade, or for keeping rain out while opening windows and using fam for ventilation?
Have you ever considered tinting the windows of your casita?
Thanks,
Tommy
We use them for both. We don’t want to tint the windows and restrict the views.
What were the tensioners clipped onto the waist rail, and where did you purchase those? Were the tube caps against the casita standard PVC caps, or a rubber alternative?
Here is a link to a later video where we showed modifications to the window awning. ruclips.net/video/qh_dM67kHWg/видео.html The hardware was purchased from www.sailrite.com. The hooks for the waist rail are Nylon Hook for Inflatable Boats that we found on Sailrite.com
