I permanently mounted a generator on mine. Got rid of the dual propane cover and replaced it with canvas covers. I also installed a diesel heater in my Casita, and the fuel tank is mounted on the shelf as well. This shelf comes in handy in so many ways. Even for holding my tools, bolts and parts while working on my Casita. Great vid as always!
Sounds like a nice setup
I put one on my 2010. I had to remove the front stabilizer jack brackets a previous owner installed. Mine didn’t have the Anderson. I also cut the tray mount brackets shorter to keep the tray height lower. I have just enough room to get the bottles in and out easy. Have to use a soft cover but? Does me fine.
Take note if you do shorten the brackets to be careful not to shorten too much. You may not be able to get the tray mounted properly. I cut mine about 4” top and bottom(been a couple years, think it was 5” on one end) and it just squeezed in the brackets.
Thanks for the information. With our setup I like the tray higher because my solar panel is mounted on top of the box.
@@CasitaRvLife Mine lower, got a fuel tank for my heater mounted on it.
How much does the tray complicate removing the bottle cover and changing out the gas bottles ?
Stromberg recommends replacing the propane cover with a soft cover. I prefer having the hard cover on my tanks. I removed the rivets that hold the two halves of the cover together. I use small zip ties to hold the cover together. When I need to fill a tank I just cut the zip ties and slide the covers out to the side. This has work great for me and I have been doing it for over four years.
Good Video Greg . I’ve been thinking about adding that tray up front on my Casita . Thanks for sharing. 😁👍
You should!
We started out with a Casita and loved it! New subscribers here!! Happy New Year❤Zack & Linda
Welcome to the channel. Happy New Year
Great videos! Keep them coming. My wife and I are new Casita owners (4 months). We're getting it ready for camping this Spring. I was wondering what tool box you have on top of your Stromberg tray?
Same here. We pick ours up in a few weeks. We were also wondering what box you have. Love all the "how to" videos!

Good luck picking up your Casita ! We picked up ours in December! It was so cold 🥶! Three years ago . Make sure you look everything over real good before you leave ! We almost didn’t get the bed frame board! Couple of lens covers missing! No big deal. We have had really no issues with our unit ! 👍😁
Hey Greg, would you know how much weight the tray and the storage box add to the tong? Thanks :)
The box is about 19 lbs and the tray is about 56 lbs when I weighed them.
@@CasitaRvLife Thanks:)
Where did you get the box mounted on the tray?
