I have the same tray. I mounted my Predator 3500 on it by making wheel lock down chains with heat shrink tubing. They bolt over the wheels to lock generator down tight. Predator has 4 wheels. I don’t have to strap it down. I also don’t have to take generator off to service it. The Predator has a bottom oil drain plug so I cut a small hole in the tray so I can drain the oil by placing the drain pan under the tray. On the generator cover I run a couple of long bungees around it so it doesn’t flap in the wind.
You got instructions with yours, im jealous. Lol. We have had the same unit on our travel trailer since 2018. Our honda 3000 wieghs a bit more than your champion at 145 lbs versus your 97 lbs. I drilled holes in the bottom of the honda and bolted it to the plate thru holes in the tray. We did have the back lip of the tray crack and the crack extended into the tray about 3 inches. I removed the generator and reinforced the back lip with a piece of angle iron which i bolted to the tray. After 5 years this has held up along with the powder coat finish. I had a custom vinyl cover made at a company that makes tarps for flat deck trailers, so no one could see it was a honda. Lol. I have a cinch cord on the cover but also loop a rachet strap horizontally around the cover half way up to keep it from flapping in the wind. We have had ours over some fairly rough gravel roads in northern Saskatchewan on fishing trips and it is holding up. Good luck with yours.

I might change generators at some point, but I like the idea of bolting it from the bottom. Lots of little projects coming soon.

I have the same generator I like that set up. What is the weight of the tray? On my travel trailer I'm concerned about how much tongue weight it would add with the tray and generator.
The tray is listed at 63 pounds, and the generator is right around 100. I can confirm these weights.

Great video Scott. Questions: what is the length of the box of your trailer ? What is the purpose of the propane tanks, Furnace? Why not lithiums / 12V AC, instead of the generator ? Thanks !
Great questions. The trailer is 14x6.5, the trailer was originally converted to a cargo camper, but I have been changing things for my own purposes. It was setup for hot water, cooking, etc.
I've been making use of 2 Anker SOLIX F2000 (767) Portable Power stations for my power system rather than a full 12v RV system. I explain all of this in other videos. I'm setting the trailer up as a work shop.
The generator serves a couple of purposes, it gives me extended run time for my A/C and gives me more power for tools and to power campers. While I could build a big 12v system in the trailer, the generator and Anker Power Stations give me portability and flexibility.
