I've read about that A/C compressor failing multiple (4+ times) even in R8's w/ low miles. Which is insane, given the car's cost and near-hand-built construction. Does Audi sell a better-manufactured version of the compressor that doesn't consistently fail? Have they updated that part? Can you permanently remove the compressor and just run the car without the A/C? And what does it cost to put in that new compressor? $5000+?
A bit late now, but this video I found shows how to change it without removing the engine... ruclips.net/video/m1aiZMlxUeY/видео.html Unless you can't do that on the V10 ?
Solid work, we need more mechanics like you guys.
I replaced mine without pulling the engine or manifold, not fun but did it… it took about 10 hours on a R8 2014 V10
This is what I’m talking about
I keeping this video because it’s the best way to save big money 💰 😂on seeing what works and what’s doesn’t
V8 can be done without removing engine on the older ones. A bit finicky to unhook the ac pump driveshaft but doable. But book time is book time
i can remove the compressor w/o removing engine on audi r8 v8 here in the philippines .
