How To Unlock A Schott Ceran Ceramic Hob

A ceramic hob can be locked accidentally. This is how to unlock a Schott Ceran hob permanently (until someone locks it again). It may also apply to other hobs that do not have a lock button (usually denoted by a key symbol).

Hi, hope you could help me: our ceramic hob has suddenly stopped working. Actually tea spilled over it and now when we start hob, the hot plate on which tea was spilled starts automatically without we making it to turn on and that too on Highest temperature (9). What can we do?

Try switching it on.
Press the + and - buttons for 2 sec.
Then press - again.
Fixed it for me

Whoever made this video whould be blessed! I was about to throw the Hob away. A useless manual of instruction, which made things unclear and without a visual layout of buttons. People who designed that little book should be dismissed from doing more!

Did not work for my Schott Ceran(but it also looks a little different), had to pull the plug from the wall for a few seconds, when replugging it it it restarted as normal.

Do not know what blocked mode is. Try disconnecting the power for 10 minutes

You switch on the hob
the display shows L L L L The child lock is permanently enabled.
Press the lower RIGHT hob button and the MINUS button at the same time
The display should show O O O O
Press the MINUS button within 10 seconds
The hob should switch off
Switch the hob back on
The display shows O O O O
The hob is unlocked
