    Deep dives into history are my favorite. This video is GREAT. I was going to pull the trigger on a waxed trucker and thought it was just too long on me. Now I've learned that long truckers with hand pockets are meant to be cut a little longer thanks to this video. You've informed my purchase in the best way! Thank you.

    I have been trying Levi’s jackets for years now and have never found one that suited me. I have type 2s from Levi’s skateboarding and a LVC one. I have a type 3 from modern day with hand warmers. A couple of lee riders both new and old. I also recently picked up a selvedge sears roebuck and non of them I really like… Today I stumbled across a type 3 on Facebook market place for £20. I went to pick it up not knowing much about it. An it turns out it’s a non handwarmer small e, made in Canada which the lady had since the early 70s in mint condition. It’s a size 40 and finally I have found my dream jacket!!

    I actually sized down on my Type III and I wear it unbuttoned most of the time. It's probably just me, but I think Type II drapes more gracefully thanks to the extra fabric in the back, whereas Type III should really fit like a shirt in the shoulders and sleeves. So I'm wearing my true size in Type II and I sized down one size in Type III; it's a radically different fit, but then they are radically different items too, as you said. Anyway, keep'em coming!

    I've had probably 20 of these jackets. All secondhand. Only have 2 now: a 60s Big E I got at Goodwill in Vancouver Washington in about 2005 or so for $6.99 and a black one I got a few years back at Ross for around $30. Both have a bunch of punk and post-punk band pins on them as that's what I'm into. Ross gets Levis jackets in the fall. They have some weird stuff sometimes that I've never seen from Levis. About 5 years ago they had about a dozen dark blue Indigo Levis Skateboarding Type 2 style jackets For $30. Wish I had got one. You never see them for sale and there's really no info on them. Denim was tougher because it was for skateboarding. The drummer for the band, Listener, wears one in their music video 'There's Money In The Walls". So rad.

    LEVI Mens Jean Jacket STRAUSS & CO #72334 siren songed me. Beautiful jacket! The one thing i don't like about Levi is the either incredibly short sleeve for a med OR the incredibly long sleeve for the large. I could find no middle ground. Personally, i always rocked Canvas jackets and have not worn a denim since back in the early 80's. Time to bring it back!

    I don’t know what it is. The feel of denim, the fit, the style of course but these jackets are something else. I can’t describe it. Feels like something that is like a keeper or essence of something that is like a compass or idk. Let’s say it’s part of the flux compensator that makes time travel possible in back to the future. Like a signal on the highway of a journey through a dream. To me it’s the reminder of the ego, can be your best friend but the jacket can not wear itself it’s us who make it real and we wear it like the truth plays with illusion.

    • @denindenim
      @denindenim  2 года назад +1

      47,54,55 are the standard usuals. I think they’ll keep those around. They are years when the product changed in classic styles. It would be redundant to replace ‘47 with a new ‘48 because they would be the same but people like me would contemplate buying them.

    What a coinky dinky. I have a 70's jacket I'm taking to the Levi's store to match up and purchase one new as close the one I'll be showing them. As far as the jeans to pair with them, I've worn 501's for almost 50 years and with that 70's jacket. 501's or nothing! And don't get me started on Doc Martens. I didn't know any of this stuff was grunge or whatever style until somebody told me. I just thought it was good workingman's every day wear.
