    Great job Den! You out did yourself, thanks for all the history. I love my type 1! Unfortunately, I got one with zinc buttons. However, the light weight 11oz. works well for so cal. Most the time I wear it like a over shirt

    Hey! I watch all your videos with pleasure, I really like it, 2 months ago I bought myself a Type 2, though not a real one))..and LVC, and the other day I also took myself a Type 1, ..90s, though there is no longer the same fabric, here it is thicker, and so excellent. Of course, the difference in the fabric and its color, compared to vintage ones ... I, as a small lover of this, can be seen immediately. Thanks to your videos, I made two purchases of these, although for many years before that I only collected Wrangler, Maverick .. vintage jackets and jeans.))

    Levi's has a few taylor shops, so technically you could get some 55's and have them put in a Pendleton lining. It'll still be at least officially upgraded by Levi's.

      thanks for the tip. His jacket has 2 pleats, 1 pocket but a vertical white line. It's definitely a type 1 but maybe not Levi's. I'll add it into the compilation video. ruclips.net/video/mW04Tct60Rg/видео.html

    this magnificent 506 xx type I jacket appeared un at least two films before 1942, 1936's The Petrified Forest (Humphrey Bogart) and 1940's The Grapes of Wrath (Henry Fonda)

    Are there differences in the cut between the 506XX 1936 and the 506XX 1947?? Is the 1947 longer in length??

    Awesome vid! On the raw shrink to fit LVC jackets such as the type 1,2, and 3 do you recommend sizing up since they are shrink to fit? Or true to size due to the oversized nature of at least the 1 and 2?

    • @denindenim
      @denindenim  2 года назад +3

      Shrink to fit will tighten the areas personal to your body. Try to get just slightly bigger. They are versatile. If you are tall, you don’t want it too short. Type 3 is only in preshrunk. Thanks for the awesome question.

    LVC hasn't been making S506xx for 25 years, what do you think is the reason for this?
    They always makes 44501 at the same time, is it because the position overlaps with 506xx?

    Hey, great video! I'm in the UK and have had a couple of 70501 04 Type 1s from the 1990s. Would you consider this a proper Type 1? It's not a LVC, but stays pretty true to early Type 1s without a synch. I had to keep sizing down until I found the right fit.

    • @denindenim
      @denindenim  2 года назад +1

      Type 1-ish, type 1-esque. The definition is 1 pocket with the sleeves at the higher than the blouse. And maybe double pleats. Sounds like a cool item.

    In LVC series, I have seen the triangle shape on cinch back with a line crossing, but another version does not have a line crossing. Which one is true to the original?

    • @denindenim
      @denindenim  2 года назад

      The triangle stitching on the yoke is a historic feature. I don’t see any historic examples of the stitching bisecting the triangle.

    Does the post war lvc blanket lined have the correct brass buckle on the back?

    • @denindenim
      @denindenim  Год назад

      The historic ones have rust, not sure it brass rusts like that. Both cinches look like blackened metal with the not poke style. They have serrated teeth. I feel like the LVC one is flimsier than the original.

    I see a lot of leather jackets with the type one pattern, and I was wondering if there's a history of that. Maybe not by Levi's, but by leather makers pre 1953.

    I would like to ask you something:
    I bought the Levis type 1 1936 in size 40 and i want to soak/wash it warm, because i always wash my denim with warm water. I am now a little bit scared, that the jacket could be a little bit short after washing. The jacket has a length of 61cm and will shrink to 56-57cm at the end. I am 1,76m, 70kg and my chest is 94cm. In the past i tried the size 38 and the jacket was good, but if i wash the size 40, the jacket will be shorter in length, than the rigid size 38. Is it better, to take a size 42 and wash the jacket warm?? I think the jacket will be a little baggy at the end but not too short. I don't know.

    • @denindenim
      @denindenim  6 месяцев назад

      You can always have a denim jacket that is too big but you can’t wear something that pinched your ribs. I’m a 39 and I wear M. A tad loose but I wear sweaters under my jackets often. I would recommend a tub soak and wear until dry. But more so, wear from rigid.

    I can't stand the term "trucker jacket" or "trucker cap" for that matter. It's a denim jacket. If it had to named after a wearer, it would be called a cowboy jacket. Same with trucker caps. All they are is baseball caps with a couple of mesh panels. Truckers don't commonly wear either one, no more than anyone else.
