This man is so passionate about denim it's infectious.
I love hanging out with the guy and hearing his adventures in denim world
Mohsin mixture of expertise and enthusiasm is amazing
I’m not really a denimhead but Mohsin’s enthusiasm draws me in. Thanks for this, Nick.
100%, i love being around characters like him :)
I’m 64 years old and I remember buying my first pair of Levis. Wish i had my grandfather’s denim and cotton canvas coats and jackets.
As an Australian, we had some very heavyweight Levis jackets(possibly asian market) that had many differences to the type three(but still basically a type 3). I used to often pick them up, and had a great one myself. I haven't seen one in the wild for over 20 years now. A guy in a UK vintage shop offered me $400 for mine.
Lee is sleeping SOOOO HARD on their Storm Rider silhouette. It's up there with the Type II, actually it's my favorite out of them all.
Agree! should def be in the conversation of archetypal jackets
Got my hands on a new Filson unlined denim jacket at the start of winter and this video has really made me appreciate it that much more
Same! Did you manage to grab it during their warehouse sale?
@@uncannyfox before that sale they had one at Christmas but the jackets where the same price during both
Love when you do videos like this!! Thank-you!!
Hey thanks chief! These vids aren't the biggest drivers of ad money or anything but I find them so interesting to make
the picture shown in 4:55 actually featuring lee 101 riders jacket
Great content
Thanks dude!! Didn't think anyone would like it that much haha
From what I’ve heard about Demin is that Italy made something similar to it but with a linen canvas type material(I’ve heard it somewhere but I dunno if it’s real or not). Also duck fabric wasn’t the only option for demin so was moleskin and it was popular in Britain a long time for work use until demin replaced it in the 50s though demin was used in ww2 for the Royal navy and doing summer operations as supposed to wearing itchy wool uniforms.
I have the wrangler's type 2 11MJ. Best looking jacket ever.
Ty
Interesting video. I’m intrigued by his own brand, but his website seems to be dead.
Curious to see a review about your Japanese denim jackets you have, size, fit, Oni/Tanuki, etc
Very funny you know which brands my only two denim jackets are! I just got a Taylor Stitch one too. I'm planning more denim jacket content for this fall
@@Stridewise yeah I do! Haha I seen you rocked a few outfits with them on IG and they look awesome! I wanna wait before I dabble into that area myself without watching your vid on it! Cheers!
I like the duck canvas better. Very nice.
I love duck too
I wish I could find a denim jacket with pleats and for a people.
Where can I experience selvedge denim in person in the NYC area?
Blue in Green, Self Edge, Naked and Famous! And in Queens there's left field
Bought myself a waxed trucker jacket from Flint and Tinder in the U.S, solid jacket, I searched after seeing the jacket worn by Pedro Pascal in "The Last Of Us" series.
Now I will be warm, dry, and stylish while blowing away zombies.
Hell yea man, zombies are the harshest fashion judges
Also that jacket is heavily inspired by the Type 1 in this vid!
Can we get an overall history?
You just did. An overall history of the denim jacket....😁
Oh you mean a history of overalls! Might be worth looking into...
Can you reshoot the video with better lighting so we can see the details?
You got it! Buying my return ticket to England now
@@Stridewise we appreciate your dedication to your viewers.
This video looks very familiar, is it a repeat?
No! But we did another video about sanforization: ruclips.net/video/355YfLiATNU/видео.html
I really prefer the type II, I'm eyeing a sashiko type 2 jacket at the moment from Japan blue. I have a type 3 that's sized up and allows me to layer but I don't really wear it often, don't know why, never bonded with it.
I have such a hard time finding jackets that fit my long torso I just go with whatever fits me, and ideally has handwarmer pockets after that. The type comes third
Second
haha first
this guy is a legend
He really is
