XPO Logistics is by far the worst company you could work for. They take on more than they can chew and their understaffed operation ends up eating the sh*t. Management doesn’t care that you’re a human they treat you like a robot who can work 24/7. Do yourself a favor and don’t work for these guys.

They’re about to open a distribution center some 4-6 minute drive from me, right around the corner, except as GXO. Brand new building i watched being constructed every time i drove by. Hiring for everything. What homeboy on video said sounds like a typical warehouse job, from what I’ve heard. I was thinking of applying, most especially if they will train you on the picking and forklift equipment, then probably look for better pay elsewhere after i can add that equipment experience on my resume. Do they train you on that stuff?

I left XPO recently. I started there back when it was still Con-Way Freight and a decent place to work. XPO came in and destroyed all that. We couldn't hire drivers and what we did get was worthless. So management would just crap on the few of us that actually did our jobs even harder and continue to baby and reward the lazy. Bought my own truck and left after over 12 years. Best decision I have ever made.

Suck it up and get that paper. I work at central transport in Pa. running line haul. I make .76 per mile and $39/ hr for dock work. Usually around 400-500 miles a day and 3 hours of dock work. I've been at XPO about 3 months now. Just completed their driver trainer program. Maybe it's just me but so far it's the best company I've ever worked for. Everyone I've met is super cool and that's at 3 different terminals. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the dock work. There's alot of it when you're on line haul but it is what it is. I'll be getting driver pay to work the dock and it's not hard work so I'll just deal with it. Great company for me so far.
    EDIT
It's now 2/11/23. Got put into the city/p&d right off the bat. Work between 40 and 50 hrs a week. Haven't done any dock work. Pay is great. Company is great. Try to keep a positive attitude at all times and steer clear of the negativity and you'll do great!

Senior drivers (1 year plus guys) shit on new employees, deliberately gave them the illegal loads, bossed them around, etc. It's funny how a guy can spend 20 years in the industry then take a break and start over at XPO and get treated like that. By someone half their age. There used to be respect and there used to be a brotherhood among drivers. That shit is gone at XPO.

By having drivers work the docks, the company reduces labor costs and thus increase profit. That's always the plan. Have less workers do more work. And of course, people always cooperate.

They own you for 70 hours a week and if you have any time left on the and are at the bottom they will force you to run on your day off. At the same time, one of the higher paying jobs you can get right out of trucking school. The dock work can be brutal in the winter time especially at night at subzero temperatures. I still have some friends I keep in touch with from there but there are always people ready to throw you under the bus at almost any trucking job.

Me and my team at a cross dock worked 7 days per week, 8.5 to 12 hours per day including holidays. Shit wages, but if you give up your family for work, you will earn overtime and holiday pay and that ALMOST gets you to what the middle class was earning thirty years ago for a normal 40 hour work week. Oh, and overtime is not voluntary, it is expected. Hopefully, your experiences are better.

I wouldn't accept the package. Someone wanted to send me a "gift" before but told me I would need €3.000 to pick it up. "But don't worry there is €10.000 in the package illegally".
It's easy to make a website with a fake tracking code to lure people into paying. The person sending the package usually pays the amount and that's it. It can be different in some countries and also with sea travel. But I would not believe him.
      I am sorry to hear.
