Dana, I just had to come on to say thank you for all of your wonderful-ness! I have been a fan for years, and yesterday I used your 5 step decluttering method to help out my good friend whose house is so full that there are pathways to each room. We started in her family room, with a black trash bag, donate box and our shoes to “take it there now”. We intended to do a “one hour better”, but she got so into it that we worked for 3 hours! The progress we made is remarkable! The path is now widened to a full on empty space in the middle of the room, and my friend has asked me to come back again to help more! I’m so grateful to you for your guidance, for giving me the confidence to help a buddy, and providing the tools to help her be successful!

Dana! I'm new to this community and new to the decluttering-will (and am a 20-something from the EU). I've found so many of your insights and Videos helpful to progress and reflect and keep decluttering for the past few weeks. Insert all the verbal flowers and thank-you's here please, if I would type all of my gratefulness for your authentic and altruistic efforts out this comment would become.. cluttered ;) I saw that you uploaded this new Coaching Session just as I was finished watching one of your Videos from three years ago (searched for the latter because I've stagnated a bit after making great progress in my little studio flat). I'll use the opportunity to work alongside both of you. Thank you thank you thank you.

I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH I started my own One Hour Better series. Your declutter process is the only way. Everyone else out there is decluttering in the most overwhelming way. Grateful for you, Dana!

I absolutely love the one hour better videos because I can body double. I've found I can't really watch other creators declutter because they don't use your method so it seems wrong to me. It stresses me out when they start by pulling everything out 😵‍💫

I’m in such a good habit with my dishes at the moment. Like, if I use scissors to cut the meat package I’ll place the scissors in the sink put the meat in a pan and throw away the packaging. Then I return to the sink to wash my hands and the kitchen scissors. As I’m cooking I’m cleaning putting food in glass containers because leftovers are inevitable. By the time I’m done cooking I barely have any pots or pans to clean. It’s mostly rinsing and wiping.

I created a “sock bag” for all the socks I find. I put it in the same place all the time, and every time I find a single random sock, I take it to the bag to see if I can find a match. If I do, I tuck them into each other and put them in my sock drawer. If I don’t, I leave the sock in the bag, and put the bag back up. It helps keep you from having a ton of random socks that you keep leaving in random places while you go look for the match.

Love these! And your commentary about how long certain things took. Gives me motivation to split my hour up if I have to and still make progress! 10 min a day over my lunch hour for a week - progress 😊
