Very inspirational video! I started my second university degree in 2015 and many times I thought I wouldnt make it but I made it this year! I am 35, working at the same time and my dad was diagnosed with cancer so it was extra hard for me. I had many many failures but I didnt give up! You really can do anything you want, don't be disappointed! You cant get your degree/the job you like/the house you like ? That's ok, just move on and try harder!

Wow, this couldn’t have been a more timely video. It’s almost like a sign from the universe how timely you posted this given how much this subject was affecting my mental health and holding me back in my job search😭 First of all, thank you so much for sharing this. Not a lot of people are brave enough to share stuff like this even after they’ve become successful🥺💖 I struggled with what was undiagnosed ADHD throughout high school and university. Likewise, I almost failed in my 2nd year and 3rd before finally receiving treatment in my final year and improving my grades dramatically. Unfortunately, just like in your case my final grades weren’t enough to balance out my previous academic performance and raise my grade average, so I barely graduated. My graduation ceremony was set to take place like 2 weeks ago after a 2 year delay due to the pandemic and I couldn’t attend because I had no one to go with and I still haven’t told my strict parents who actually paid for my degree (I was an international student in the UK), which has been such a source of shame and guilt over the past years. I don’t know how to tell them either because I’m afraid they’d even disown me. I know that I’ll take care of them just like my brother does once I get a professional job or make money (whose degree they also paid for & don’t get me wrong I don’t come from rich parents they just both were super academic people who valued their children’s education over everything else). Unfortunately my undiagnosed/untreated mental health issues have meant that I was unable to accumulate any real work experience or extracurriculars either🥺 I was so inspired by your story and have looked up to you for years now. I feel like this is the point my life is going to change because I’ve pushed back so hard to make applications over the past couple days even for jobs i’m not exactly qualified for because I know i’m treated now and I can apply myself and be responsible in anything I do. Any words of encouragement or advice as to what you’d do in my position would be so so much appreciated🥺🙏🏻💓💓💓 I’m a refugee and live so far from my family. I’d love nothing more than to get a job and start affording their plane tickets to come visit me at least once or twice a year, especially since we’re only getting older and (I turned 24 this year btw) I’m afraid of not getting enough time to really give back to my family especially my grandma🥺🥺🥺 Wishing you all the best in your future endeavours. I’m so proud of you and so excited to see you grow even further!!!!🥰🥰🙏🏻

Thank you for sharing your thoughts - I think you have the right attitude towards succeeding - you are only 24, so don't be so harsh on yourself! Keep pushing and I'm sure you'll do well! Good Luck and all the best! :)

I am also struggling with academics. With constant burnout, procrastination and anxiety, I’m not able to give my best to studies.
Thank you for sharing this video! This is really inspiring!

Thank you for sharing a part of your Uni journey with us. I was able to learn from your experience and who would have thought that the impossible could be made possible right. I mean I'm in my 3rd year of Uni this upcoming school year and I am taking up Management Accounting and to be honest I've doubted myself a lot because I feel like I'm not doing my best, I'm not the best in school and I'm kind of scared right now thinking what and where I'll land a job afterwards because like you, I'm very much like an introvert and shy and I barely got any work experience because I've always been scared to like get out of my comfort zone and when I do and try things, my self doubt hits me and stops me from trying things. I totally love what you said at the end "You miss a hundred percent of the shots that you don't take" and I think I sure did miss a lot.

The exact same thing happened to me during my assessment center for PwC- I literally blew it off because I saw a topper from my university competing there with me! Well, no regrets because I worked my way up to EY exactly after a year. Whatever happens, happens for a reason :) Nice to see you are fellow MQ alumni!

Wow I relate to this video so much! I was nodding through it all because my experience was somewhat similar. I was always an average student so I never felt like I truly belonged at my university. It definitely played a role in negatively affecting my mental health. But I really like the message in this video. Your grades are not everything. There is always a way to be successful in life, it's not just about how well you did while sitting in a classroom. Sometimes sure, grades may play a role to some extent. But the world is just so much bigger than your academic transcript. 🌍🌎🌏 Thank you for this video 🙌

Thank you for this video! I’m in my second year at Sydney uni doing commerce and I am putting so much time in uni whilst working 3 casual jobs but none of the work I’m putting in is coming out. I’m just wondering if you have any advice on what to do because I’m just so lost.
