- So after having a sudden last-minute change of heart, Shadow seems to decide that it's not a good idea to let the President be mercilessly slaughtered by these black creatures.
I like how going through this Human Vs Evil Aliens plot line, Shadow suddenly goes "LOOK AT ME, I'M AN ANDROID, TIME TO GO KILL EGGMAN" and leaves the plot in limbo forever
I think you are looking at it wrong like most people.... The game is just a bunch of "What if" stories and if I remember correctly Shadow's main plot(for him) regardless of the path you choose was to fine his identity. He really didn't care about either side...it was all personal gain. Notice that shadow never says I got to save these humans or kill these aliens only the side characters did.
@@thaneros Yeah it's just.... weird for the hero mission to put you on the shadow andriod storyline path since none of the other stages before had anything to do with it.
@@killerratchet1973 Because Heroes kinda left it open for interpretation if Shadow was an android copy.
That's what I love about this game. Shadow can help Sonic and the Humans fend off the Alien invasion, go on a trip down memory lane to remember the promise he made to a loved one to protect humanity, and when he finally lands on the alien base to finish the job... He activates the aliens' defences because FUCK YOU SONIC I'M THE MOST POWERFUL HEDGEHOG IN THE WORLD.

My favorite part of this mission is just how incongruous Shadow's revelation can be with the plot you've created. Hell, if you went Westopolis>Glyphic Canyon>Prison Island>The Doom>Air Fleet, Eggman has not appeared or even been mentioned once, but all of a sudden, ace detective Shadow opens his third eye and begins his sudden third act crusade against Eggman. It's so nonsensical that I just can't help but love it.
As incredibly narmy as this game is, it still has its moments.

I feel like it would have made a little more sense for Hero Air Fleet to lead to Cosmic Fall, and for Space Gadget Dark to lead to Black Comet. I mean, you could imagine Tails bringing Shadow to space after this to take care of the invasion up there, or Black Doom telling Shadow to come to the Black Comet from the ark; after all, Shadow's already in space, and the Black Comet is probably nearby anyway.
Oh well.
Yes! And how about taking the Dark Mission on Space Gadget also leads to a Blue Falcon fight? :)
@@Werten25 I've always disliked how taking a dark path on lethal highway or death ruins still has you fight Black Bull.
Egg Breaker fights make sense even when taking the dark path because Eggman turns on basically everyone. And Heavy Dog takes place in a twisted memory altered by Black Doom (hence why the level before is called "The Doom").
They really should've had substitute mini bosses for the others though.
They should make it where, in Lethal Highway and Death Ruins, make the Dark missions lead to a Heavy Dog/Blue Falcon fight.
I feel that if they fixed the game up to let the story run more smoothy, the game would be really good.

I like the part when Tails go "Oh man we are high up, watch your footing"... and then he totally jumps off the stage like a fool.

I notice that Tails is the only one of the Good guys who deals with the Black arms and Eggman's robots as bad guys. When you're with Espio and Amy, Eggman's robots are the good guys in those missions as well

There's three pathways towards this stage where you don't even LOOK at Eggman and still come to the conclusion that Shadow is an android. One of them is this: 2 Neutral, 1 Dark, 1 Neutral, then in this stage, Hero. Not a single eye laid upon Eggman, but he still believes he's an android. Why did SEGA make Shadow so naive in this game but not in future games!?
yeah, it makes little sense why you'd go after eggman from this stage and space gadget.
@@darthutah6649 SG makes at least SOME sense if you got to it through Mad Matrix neutral. Eggman tells Shadow he has no past before the MM boss fight and before Space Gadget Shadow has a flashback to his SA2 "death".
It’s funny, because if you came from the dark mission on Prison Island, Eggman hasn’t even appeared yet.

Watch as Jason Griffith and his trust confused sidekick, Amy Palant enter the president's escape station to kill black aliens that in no form or fashion have enough height to reach the craft, but Jason wants to kill them all anyway.
Funny, because Jason Griffith voices both Sonic AND Shadow.

Wait... The cutscene in the end is got to be the stupidest. How does he figure out he's the copy, yet there wasn't any development leading to that? This is probably why there should be more story development instead of simple path connection.

Why won't Tails stop the Black Arms himself? Why should he need to ask Shadow for help? We have never seen him fight them. Why won't he be braver like his Nintendo Counterpart Tulin?
This is one of my favourite missions.

@@HarmonyBunny Shadow can't attack Mission characters, or vice versa. Only sort-of exception is Sonic when fighting Diablon.

@Kaibaman41 The straight line game I get. There's seems to be a development going on there. But let's say for example you go dark then decide to go to Hero path. There's no connection to him being an android or the real thing when you get to this stage.

actually if you go a complete Neutral Game(which consists of a Straightline) Shadow sees an army of Shadow androids then in either that path or another Eggman Tells Shadow he is an android to confuse him like hell. This particular path He concludes he isn't the real thing.
if only I could get the Dolphin Emulator to work
@Triggard Because alot of the missions in the "middle/neutral" story path deal with why shadow thinks he's a copy.
