Ici l'arme n'a pas été badigeonnée de terre et de semblant de rouille orange fluo qui touche apparemment aussi les plastiques ??? pour les besoins de la vidéo. Son état d'origine est moins "tape à l’œil" de ce que l'on peut voir ici et là.

Thank you very much. You have a better gun culture at home than in Europe. We are unfortunately constrained on many things on the amres and they are getting worse from year to year... For the video I am starting, it is not easy to want to edit a lot and keep it short. I'm training for this.
There is a danger of over-restoring and removing the firearm's history.

Nice job and a beautiful pistol, I believe if you use a metal polishing wheel with 2-4 thousandth diameter wires it would give you a much better finish in the end as the wire wheel your using still left marks.

Hey, my local gun store used to have one of these when I first started shopping there.
Everything was going so well, then, after de greasing the parts for an hour you tipped them back onto the same mat as you stripped it on? Then when rebuilding I didn't see a drop of gun oil nor a smear of grease anywhere?? Other than that a fine effort to restore a gun one doesn't see every day! Well Done

ce que tu fais, moi je sais le faire ,mais les membres du club pas forcément
je réuni des pro pour mon club ,mais je rencontre tous les artisans avec les quelle on travail ,il y a souvent de la demande sur ma chaîne,il faut juste mettre en place un cahier des charges afin que tu sois et je sois tranquille avec les cassos .mais sur ma chaine 95 % sont des collectionneurs et passionné d'arme .tu serais d'un grand secours pour certains qui n'on pas notre savoir faire ,je ne prend pas de com je suis un vrais passionné 😉

@@retroviseur5301 Pourquoi pas. Après j'ai pas mal de boulot aussi avec les armes de chasse et divers objets anciens. Donc niveau temps je suis souvent limité. Je fais aussi du bronzage (en couche ou en bain) et de la confection de pièces, je dispose d'un tour et d'une fraiseuse ( je suis armurier de métier ;) ). Chrome, non, seulement du décoratif au stylet galvanoplastie, je ne parviens pas à avoir le même résultat que ton Smith. Je peux faire aussi de la dorure sur des petites pièces (chien détente etc...) N'hésite pas à passer sur mon FB, il y a plus de contenu, je ne fais pas beaucoup de vidéos (lien dans la description de la page YT).
Pour le Smith l'intervention comprend: Démontage complet, sablage, brossage, polissage, nickelage, finition x2 pièces bleu remontage= 360€ TTC. Pour cette prestation, il n'y a pas eu de relime (reprise des coups sur la carcasse et autres éléments ni de rafraichissement des plaquettes. Ca, c'est dans le cas aussi que tout se démonte bien (goupilles grippées, vis qui foire & réfection lorsqu'elles sont HS arrive fréquemment. Ca peut monter vite beaucoup plus haut.
@@Atelier_OGIER OK cool, t'es prix son resonable pour le travail accompli, bon après si tu es trop occupé 😅 c'est que tu fais du bon travail , je vais faire un sondage sur ma chaîne pour savoir le nombreux de personnes intéressée, je pense que tu gère bien ta clientèle et que le cahier des charges ne sera pas indispensable 😉 rare son les armuriers qui prennent les armes anciennes, car peut son vraiment capable de faire des reconstitutions. de pièces, et ne s'embête pas avec des pièces grippé. Bon si tu es d'accord j'en parle on verra le résultat .je vais parler des délais pour que les adhérents comprennent bien, mais il y à une grosse demande😉 (les personnes ne savent plus ce servir de leurs mains ✋️ )
J'étais mécanicien ajusteur et j'ai beaucoup travaillé sur les machines comme les tiennes ,si j'avais la place.... bref, moi perso je passerais (si tu es d'accord)te voir pour des trucs à moi (pièces à refaire, j'ai pas les machines pour) merci pour ta réponse, tiens moi au courant 🤠👍
@@retroviseur5301 Aucun souci. Note aussi qu'il arrive que je sois confronté à ne pas pouvoir réparer telle ou telle chose... Ca arrive. Notamment avec certain vélodog ou la majeure partie du temps c'est le ressort principal qui est cassé (celui qui agit sur le chien et l'élévateur). Il m'arrive de ne pas pouvoir trouver de pièce compatible (je n'ai que 2 tailles de ressort). Je ne suis pas magicien non plus, j'ai déjà été confronté à des demandes ou l'arme était beaucoup trop abimée pour être réparée. Idem pour les devis, je peux donner une estimation via photos ou autre, mais le devis définitif est obligatoirement arme en main. j'ai fréquemment des surprises une fois l'arme démontée ou je me rends compte qu'il y a ça + ça+ ça qui déconne par rapport à la demande initiale. Autre info, je n'ai que la C et la D ;)

A very impressive piece. The time you took and your attention to detail have created a beautiful revolver. But please settle an argument. I believe the grips to be of bone, but my wife thinks they are ivory. Thank you for sharing !
I also thought of bone the first time I held the gun in my hands. But it's definitely ivory. We don't see it on the video but there are traces like fingerprints typical of ivory.

the original condition would have been polished metal surface smooth , then nickel plated and then polished again , so you did an excellent job of cleaning away the old plating , why not re-plate back to nickel ? also I noticed you didnt use any lubrication grease or oil during reassembly , why not ?
Effectively. It's not my weapon, it's my client's. I'm just responding to his request. It was possible to polish it by hand to remove imperfections, but he wanted to keep it that way. Its maintenance will be done by him. Thanks to you.

From what others say it doesn't matter to me. I saw on the forums that... I am friends told me that.... Do not stay where the others tell you to think or believe. Here it is the request of my client. I myself have similar weapons or no restoration has been made to them. It is everyone's choice. To take the example of cars, do you prefer an old car restored or wreck? Those that others think or say .... Think and do what you think is the best for you. friendly.

I was visiting with a fellow model A guy at our County Fair Ground model A gathering here in S Tx …… I asked why the short lever coming outta the floorboard “over drive” he said. Then he asserted all the usual questions , how fast , money saved in gas , etc. He surprised me with “I’ve had it up to 75 several times, works good” all the while replacing his water pump 😉
For the love of the gods, gunsmith screwdrivers. I was flinching at every screw.
None of them were damaged.

The standard way of removing a side plate, which does not risk putting gouges on the plate edges, is to remove the screws and tap sharply on the frame with a plastic hammer. After a few taps the plate will jump out on its own.

That pistol is worth more in it's original as worn condition. Replating it devalued it.
Everyone has their own opinion on this subject. It belongs to a dealer, he sold it very well like that.
Should have either re-plated and lubricated gun after removing plating-or, in the interest of preservation, just cleaned and lubricated and left the original finish.

Until the lubrication wears off, someone forgets to lube it, and then he rust areas continue to corrode allowing the firearm to become more and more damaged. It's foolish, uneducated preservationist flim flam like yours that lead to a lot of unknowledgeable people (like yourself) perpetuating more flim flam.
What are you doing at 17:20? I thought that was nickle plating, but I see a lot of comments asking why didn't you nickle plate it.

Can anyone explain the long hook on the bottom of the trigger guard? It's clearly to hook a finger on, but why?

Я не понимаю, зачем пользоваться разными жидкостями, если потом пескоструйный аппарат всё сделает одинаковым? Для чего эти эволюции?
Да и нет. Первая жидкость - электролиз. Удаляет глубокую ржавчину (пескоструйный аппарат не обязательно доходит до небольших внутренних отверстий). Второй - ультразвук, он обезжиривает деталь и удаляет загрязнения (необходимо избегать попадания жира или мелких элементов в абразив пескоструйного аппарата, иначе сопло пескоструйного аппарата засорится). Последняя жидкость представляет собой раствор никелирования.

Whilst I might like the final result, some of the tools in use horrified me. I was taught that, for working on such items, all screwdrivers should be hollow ground to reduce any swelling of the slots in the screw-heads. Heavy pliers tightening lanyard rings would be another definite no-no.

I could, I have all the necessary authorizations, but they are not my weapons. Customers drop them off to me and I restore them. Some resell them (second-hand dealer), others are attached to them sentimentally, or collectors.

Bonjour, je voulais savoir si vous avez une solution technique pour stabiliser un canon poli, pour que l'oxydation ne se forme pas dessus dans le temps. Initialement c'est un canon de carabine Anschütz 22lr qui était bruni. J'aimerais le polir et le laisser ainsi. Je pense aux revolver 1873/74 qui pour certains restent sans revêtement. Merci d'avance pour votre retour. Si c'est le cas, je vous demanderai un devis. Bonne journée à vous.
Bonjour. Un acier poli est effectivement moins sensible à la corrosion mais toujours assujetti à celle-ci. (condition de stockage, manipulations avec transpiration acide et humidité) . Dans l'exemple d'un bronzage, sans entretien il restera sensible à la corrosion. Pour garder un aspect poli brut, c'est possible mais veillez à l'entretenir régulièrement, (laine d'acier, huile etc...) évitez de le stocker dans des milieux humides, évitez aussi de le laisser en fourreau (mousse et tissu aiment bien l'humidité). Sinon, deux solutions possibles: le chrome ou le nickelage. Je suis équipé pour traiter des petites pièces en finition nickelées, (carcasse révolver (jusqu'à 30cm environ) mais un canon de carabine malheureusement non. Bien cordialement.
