seriously, I'm a drama teacher. this is so basic. He wasted this amazing opportunity with rambling and talking instead of showing and doing which is what drama education is all about. Applying creative process tools and skills for self expression and imagination. This talk was so scattered.

So during the “creativity” headline where you talk about your clown history or training there is a wonderful example of transformation. So many theater artists talk about how theater is transformation. Viola spolin etc. so this should have been the beginning of the speech. Then extrapolate on that! You had mentioned this is a drama game. So then how would you apply this principle to other subjects. Or maybe what type of transformation is in theater. There is complete transformation and there is augmentation or intensify or exaggeration etc. it is also about conflict. For each change you had a purpose or something to solve which is a part of clown as well. Their slant on a problem solve. Mr bean is hilarious at this. He needs to solve cover up eating a treat in church and goes through that journey. How can we use that idea in other subjects. I think I was thrown off by the title. There are people that use dramatic activities or theater activities in their non theater curriculum. You could have them create a commercial which is role play or a sketch structure to showcase the added benefit of a product. Be an expert on something is an improv game and can be used as a fun way to learn or present a character from history. Those are classic examples. I’ve even used monologues to have students write about their experience where they had to push back against all odds and the authority etc to relate to Joan of arc. I guess I expected more unique experiences and examples. I hope that helps. If you were to just teach pure drama and you meant drama as a part of the total education experience than yes start with clown and then more principals of theater that you showcase making your point that stands should have a huge part of their complete education. A Speech and a lecture have a purpose. There was as I stated too scattered of a purpose. The best ted talks even if simple have a strong clear action to affect the audience. To highlight the importance of drama in education. To provide evidence that students need drama in their education to help them learn overall. Etc. then lay it out. It can also be to reveal the truth about how we need theater in our lives. But theater is about showing not telling and you finally started doing that with the clown segment. Anyway. Hi lula, this is Mohammed, the one in the video, just saw your reply by chance. in response to your comment: Yes, you are right. I wasn't even trying to be funny. I don't think that the clown role that I took in my education involves joking and fooling around. basically the clown figure around children allows us to communicate more efficiently and the process of education becomes more smooth and acceptable. I never try to make children or people laugh in my role as a clown, instead, I invest in that figure to make education more fun. and not to make a funny clown. In regards to TedTalk speaking. No I am not a TedTalk speaker and I don't know what is so important to be a Ted Talk speaker in order to share an experience. I am not even sure if a TedTalk speaker should have a degree in TedTalk speaking. what I hold is my experience that I share and so does many people who went on Ted Talk... thank you for your time.
