You can really feel the passion Zesty has for this game and the franchise as a whole throughout this video, and it's that passion that makes for such fun and enjoyable content. Also, I agree, the soundtrack of GOW 2 is a certified banger!
Imagine if there was a cool chapter select system in this game where after you defeat zeus you could use the threads of fate to replay specific areas of the game like the kraken boss fight and then you would be able to go back and fight the kraken and to go back to chapter select you would need to click select and then there would be a new option "chapter select" and you could click that
With you being such a combat focused guy I was surprised you didn't mention us going from three counter attacks in GoW to only one in GoW II. That has always been my biggest gripe with the game. It's a cool attack for sure, as is the Fleece in general, and being able to deflect projectiles was a great step forward, but having only one parry attack was a step backwards and adds an unnecessary limit to the combat. Thankfully they addressed this in GoW III (we still never got all three back though). I also didn't really like the changes they made to the ram/charge attack. In GoW you could use it as a finisher if you wanted but it could also be seamlessly woven into your string of combos. Hell, you could even use it to extend your combos further. Or do the exact opposite and use it as a nice shortcut to a powerful combo finisher (similar to the T, T, T and T, T, S moves).
While i do prefer the GoW1 parry, GoW2's parry is still good for a one option thing. It causes a knockback (half collision) and you're totally safe (i frames). I prefer GoW1. It's high risk high reward. Having access to finishers that easily is a blessing. As for 'might', yes, GoW1's might of hercules is undefeated. The blades moveset in general is better in GoW1, but GoW2 has its own little tricks with the blades as well.
@@ExtremeGameplays1 I didn't mean the hold Square attack mate, I meant the charge/ramming attack that is assigned to the R1 button in GoW. Apologies for any confusion. Although that attack was reworked into the hold Square attack in GoW II, along with a launch attack, so it's no wonder it gets confusing. Later, in GoW III, those two attacks actually became the parry attacks for the Fleece. And you're absolutely right, the actual swing of the blades from holding Square is far more powerful and effective in GoW than in any of its sequels. I guess they had to nerf it a bit, otherwise the ram and launch follow ups they added wouldn't of worked properly. Ha, I suppose it would be difficult to ram or launch an enemy that's already been flung half way across the screen. By the way, I've got an idea for a video for you. Sure, the classic GoW games aren't quite as deep and complex as DMC/Bayonetta and Ninja Gaiden, but they're better than pretty much everything else in the genre. Your video on Ascension did a fantastic job at shining a light on all the little tweaks and improvements that were made to the combat system (even if a lot of that was unfortunately ignored by the masses), so it'd be cool to see the often underrated combat system across all six games getting the same treatment. Just an idea if you fancy it and have the time. Take it easy mate.

It doesn't take away how much they would like the game, nothing is perfect. And understanding it's flaws is always a good thing in general for stuff.
It's especially weird when the things that i'm asking for are not even THAT INSANE to comprehend. It's not like i'm asking for some ridiculous stuff either. Just stuff that should be the standard. Good, now there's one game left: GoW 3. And at least three things it got wrong are not hard to imagine: 1. OH being inconsistent; 2. Collisions not scaling with difficulty, as well as some (like those related to OH) not working at all; 3. One could also criticize the magic system being now tied to weapons, though I didn't mind it, and the overall number of magic attacks is greater than in previous entries. They should make enemies grab you more often , they should make qte quick and complex and enemies since they’re very easy should should block more often it will be so much better if the soldiers you fight have actual shields not magic Shields form gow1 shields that they can use one or twice and they should make archers move slightly away as you approche them

One thing I've noticed about the God of War franchise is that it's games are very similar in a way. God of War 2005 was praised by many people because of it's combat, story, characters, and tone. It had it's problems, but the things it did right far outweighed the bad. It also layed the foundation for future games to come. God of War 2018 was also praised by many because of it's story, characters, combat, and tone. It had many problems, but many content creators still acknowledges it's greatness. It built the foundation that the future game(s) would be based around God of War 2 expanded on God of War 1 by adding extra bosses, new enemies, and unknown locations. It also tweaked the puzzles with a time device and expanded on the combat with new weapons (barbarian hammer, spear of destiny) and new mechanics ( parry system, and slightly different magic attacks). The main antagonist was Zeus, who was a popular Greek God and was known by many people. It's story was very simple, but the journey that you venture on is far more important than the destination God of War: Ragnarok also expanded on God of War 2018 by adding extra bosses, enemies, and locations. It would then "remodel" the combat by adding a new weapon (draupnir spear) and new mechanics ( frost awaken and flame whiplash). The story was sophisticated (much like God of War 3) but is praised by many. It's main villain was Odin who was a popular Norse God and can be recognized by anyone. There is even a point in the story where Kratos has to recover the Blades of Chaos and save his son from death. When he retrieves the Blades, Athena and Zeus both haunt him again and again. At the end of the game, Kratos tries to save Baldur from himself, but ultimately kills him to save Freya. In both norse games, Kratos is provoked to kill someone: Baldur and Heimdall, because they try to harm Atreus. Basically, his arc in the Norse games is to "be better" for the sake of Atreus, Faye, and himself.
@@hurricane7727 The Norse saga was divided into 2 games, and Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta, and Ascension were never truly similar to the Norse games. They also could be considered side games as they have very little consequences for the rest of the story. I also never played Chains of Olympus nor Ghost of Sparta. Nevertheless, you are right that I didn't mention them. So, I will mention them now. Chains of Olympus (2007) was like God of War 2018 because it was the start of 2 games for the saga. The final boss is Persephone who is a very, very unknown figure in the Greek lore. Ghost of Sparta (2010) was a sequel and brought new elements to the already established combat that C.O.O (Chains Of Olympus) set up. It added new mechanics such as the Spartan charge that allows you to run at enemies and punish them. Of course, Kratos was once again emotionally driven because he believed that his visions were important to the whereabouts of his brother: Deimos. Ghost of Sparta introduced Thanatos, who was the final boss of the game and proved a challenge for Kratos and Deimos. God of War: Ascension (2013) was the 4th installment in the main quadrilogy of God of War. It did however, take place in the past (before God of War 1-3 & Chains of Olympus-Ghost of Sparta) and had Kratos in a very different attitude and goal. Much like God of War 2, Ascension introduced a time mechanic which was accessible in puzzles and combat and allowed for experimentation. Unlike every other God of War game, Ascension only featured one main weapon: Blades of Chaos. The main villains were the Furies, who was a trio of sisters who punished oath-breakers. Ascension was ths final Greek-based game, and so it culminated the series by adding the one thing no other God of War ever attempted: Multiplayer.

Show us More of What Sparta was like( 2 lacked this and 4 and 5 only Talks about Sparta) and Seeing His and Deimos Childhood Relationship and His Brother Being Kidnapped by Ares and Athena and That Kratos Tried to Fight Ares Even back then
You could say I almost completely agree with what you're saying here because I think the harpies part better fit into boring enemy category because from what you say you have your own problems with them I think it's more skill issued to me:) cause from what i see there are quite a lot of boring enemies like bulls rock and the Wraiths of Athens, trust me killing them takes extra time because of how they respond to movement like when it gets close to the bull it will do THE SPIN thing (the animation for that is so long) and for the wraith itself you almost can't barely iFrame them and making these three enemis I think is more fit in the category of boring enemies
I have a few nitpicks 1. The cutscenes are inconsistent in some kratos won't have his blades and his golden fleece, and in the last boss fight with zeus,he has those golden blades at the start when retrieve the blade of Olympus 2. Not being able to use the golden Athena man, those blades are beautiful to use
The Golden Blue Blades of Athena and Regular Kratos with Them Are in God of War Ghost of Sparta. Ironic Comment because Gow Ghost of Sparta players say they want the Blades the Red Color that's in Gow 2.
@hurricane7727 it's my personal preference. The golden blades looked better in god of War 2 than in ghost of Sparta. I have always preferred the golden blades over the red one.
@hurricane7727 I think the reason is that they are so used to the red blades that golden blades just look odd to them.I would've liked if they gave the blades of Athena a different color so they stand out as more different.
In My Opinion God Of War 2 Is The Best And Perfect Sequel And Better Than 3 Zesty I Know You Like GOW 3 But Brother We have To Agree That 2 Is The Best Storywritten Game Of time Everything Was Perfect About The Sequel I Felt Bad After I Played 3 Just Like I Felt When I Played GOW RAGNARÖK.
I think the best way to play gow 1 and 2 is through rpcs3 because you can skip cutscenes and you can also play in 60 fps 4k (I play on upscaled 1080p) and trophies are supported too, I think same goes for origins collection but not for ascension and gow 3, for gow 3 the best is ps4 and ps5 (you can skip cutscenes in rpcs3) and for ascension its either ps3 or rpcs3 if you have a nasa super computer
I can skip cutscenes The condition is to play on a difficulty that you finished the game on before By clicking X Idk if its just a thing for my version
For the right side, you're right. For the wrong side, you're also right again. What's the point of that red orb sucking move that you most likely upgraded everything already?
Very good analysis and factual video. By the way How is Clotho not in the wrong list in GOW2? Also the clones are an additional stuff I would add in the wrong list for GOW1
@ExtremeGameplays1 For me, a couple of reasons including the obvious being her character design, and when I compare her to the previous two sisters of fate, it is a downgrade in a way combat wise. But I do love the puzzle aspect of that level. But overall, she does not look like a person weaving the threads of time. I'm a huge fan of you, btw. @@ExtremeGameplays1 well yes, and I always let him cuz the manager is.....DEATH ITSELF HAHHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHHAH-oh uh sorry, what was we even talking about?
This is BEFORE watching the vid. I played it on titan mode, and got just 3 actual complaints: 1. The protect the translator section. There's no check point between the actual translator section and the last wave of enemies. It makes it clearing the section tedious and problematic to just practice that section. There's some bosses that turn into a hellish nightmare that doesn't have to be due to not having check points, such as Theseus and Euryle. Their fights would be just great if they didn't make you restart the entire thing cause you messed up for a sec right before getting the last QTE. (This also applies for the last corridor before the gates to the last moir. Like, at least let me save HERE, don't make me go through the entire thing again!) 2. That all the bosses got overly long on titan. Everyone overstaid their welcome con titan, even lakhesis (which to me is the best boss fight in the game). 3. Perseus. I hate his fight. It's just annoying in the titan mode.
one thing that always annoyed me is the rage of the titans, why cant i block while using it. I tried playing the game on Titan difficulty recently for the first time and i barely used the rage. I used blocking heavily for defence so being restricted to only dodging during rage of the titans made me barely use it since i would just loose to much health otherwise, also it fucked up the fun of just never loosing my combo meter in bonus play since i had to leave rage of the titans to reflect at some walls and to slow time.
My boy zesty pointing out the flaws with the translator feels like a love letter to me cuz I fucking hated that part. Also zesty if u see this I watch all your videos not just the one I commented on before. 😎
Did you play it on a console or a PC? I've been trying for so long to play the GoW games, up to Ascension, on PC but I can't figure out what PC specs can play them. Please, any ideas?
I don't have any ideas, but i do know that GoW1 and 2 don't take up A LOT of memory. 3 and Ascension however... are problematic. They need a behemoth PC.
The bonus play makes the game too easy, even if this is the proposal for a new game, I don't like to kill an enemy with one or two hits, I like to test new combinations of combos using magics and weapons at the maximum level , but if the enemy dies too fast I think it's boring, maybe I would like it better if the ng+ of god of war was a little similar to that of dark souls.
For that, we have costumes. Simply equip the hydra armor Kratos if you want to test a lot of strats. It's a very good armor for experimenting since you and the enemies take way more hits.
All gow 2 needs is not story, nor combat, nor art style, but It needs sieze your fate, fire in the urns chamber, typhons mountain, and the crossings of the lowlands, and boom, best game ever.
The problem that I have in god of war 2 is weapon swapping it's slow. Ever time I have to swap the weapon I have go In the upgrade menu. I'm not saying make it faster like g 3 make it like dmc3 where I can hold the bumper and swap the weapon in mid combo.
You CAN switch mid combo, it just requires good timing. It's bugged but not in the worst of ways. Also, isn't it better that you ATLEAST have the option to switch which weapon is your secondary through the upgrade menu? DMC3 for some reason, didn't have that.
There is one thing what i have problem with any god of war calssic and why it's not masterpeace and funny enought...it's about combat...I KNOW I KNOW BUT...HEAR ME OUT FOR MOMENT! First magic metter...why this can't regenerate by fighting for example by colisions? If i'm already forced to use colisions...and thats next problem...it limits combat expression You can and you should using hombrew cancelling and frame advantages...but that should't suppose to be the case Allow even on using bigger magic resource...just make it regeneratable so i be felling powerfull because i'm good at game insteed of felling like i'm powerfull because i'm seted to be...resource managment gets new deepnes here Same with colisions...best decision of gow 3 was to free combat from colisions Also...ramming in gow 3 shows big problem with...almoust all the install of series Combat isn't proff on broken tactics or reppeating most efficient tactics...compare this to dmc where you need to be quick always and mayby you have some combos what you can loop and get sss...but enemies and also your tools are more flexible Also hitboxes are bit wierd in gow Imagine that dmc have limited pistol ammo...gow is same case
@@hurricane7727 in other gows sometimes they regenerate magic to And this hurts even more because they have ready mechanic...why it can be applyed to rest of game?
I don't think you can even beat the game with button mashing on anything higher then normal difficulty, at least not without losing all your hair in the process.
Call me biased but i can't find anything wrong with this game....like i can't think of a simple thing i don't like... let's see if you'll make me change my mind.

I have a few nitpicks
1. The cutscenes are inconsistent in some kratos won't have his blades and his golden fleece, and in the last boss fight with zeus,he has those golden blades at the start when retrieve the blade of Olympus
2. Not being able to use the golden Athena man, those blades are beautiful to use
Yup. Nitpicks.
@@UzairAli-iy5jh To me they both look Great. It's weird to see GowGos Players wanting to make it look red which is ready in Gow 2
@hurricane7727 I think the reason is that they are so used to the red blades that golden blades just look odd to them.I would've liked if they gave the blades of Athena a different color so they stand out as more different.
That's why it's the GOAT!

Yup. PC master race.

Yes. You're talking about new game plus.
@@ExtremeGameplays1 yea you right

OH GOD YES.
Clotho? Why?
@ExtremeGameplays1 For me, a couple of reasons including the obvious being her character design, and when I compare her to the previous two sisters of fate, it is a downgrade in a way combat wise. But I do love the puzzle aspect of that level. But overall, she does not look like a person weaving the threads of time. I'm a huge fan of you, btw. Love your combat videos, iceberg, facts on gow, your version of EWW on people who do EWW on GOW, Tyr Lists, and your Nur and Pain+ runs. Thank you for being entertaining and passionate.
The thing that ACTUALLY makes gow 2 is the words of the high priest “ES ROBENTOS DILES TES!!!!!!”
He wants to speak to the manager, right?
@@ExtremeGameplays1 well yes, and I always let him cuz the manager is.....DEATH ITSELF HAHHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHHAH-oh uh sorry, what was we even talking about?
This is BEFORE watching the vid.
I played it on titan mode, and got just 3 actual complaints:
Like, at least let me save HERE, don't make me go through the entire thing again!)
2. That all the bosses got overly long on titan. Everyone overstaid their welcome con titan, even lakhesis (which to me is the best boss fight in the game).
3. Perseus. I hate his fight. It's just annoying in the titan mode.
You mainly get better by replaying these games and refining your edges. The translator is a huge walking L tho.
Came here after the stream 🗿
When you walk into your parents room at night: 20:56
one thing that always annoyed me is the rage of the titans, why cant i block while using it.
12:34 welp there goes your monitization
I think you might love the TWEWY duology
We need a comparision seies like for example : God of war 1 vs god of war 2018 ( best things and the worst thing comparing each other )
Back on ps2 I found orion harpon by myself 😂
I would love te see in the future the gallery of kuba
4:18 what move is that , we're u throw the legeneaire (idk how to type it ) to that minator with fire axe (I don't remember the names of some enemies)

@@ExtremeGameplays1 That's what I was afraid of, getting a "behemoth PC". Anyway, thanks a million.
this game has no errors, is perfect 🐐🐐🐐🐐
The bonus play makes the game too easy, even if this is the proposal for a new game, I don't like to kill an enemy with one or two hits, I like to test new combinations of combos using magics and weapons at the maximum level , but if the enemy dies too fast I think it's boring, maybe I would like it better if the ng+ of god of war was a little similar to that of dark souls.
For that, we have costumes.
Simply equip the hydra armor Kratos if you want to test a lot of strats. It's a very good armor for experimenting since you and the enemies take way more hits.
i can tolerate every wrong in this game except the translator part and checkpoints
Those gotdamn harpies

God of War 2 is better than the God of War 3 (i like GOW 3 too, but GOW 2 is better), my favorite gow game

god of war needs a boss gauntlet or something like sekiro has

Man They should have brought you instead of Christopher Judge with that kinda of voice acting
Also when is the next hot takes video?
worst thing about gow 2 is the parry. in first game we have 3 parries. in this one only one ugly parry
@@ExtremeGameplays1 yeah
What about the title music of gow2
We actually got the cutscene slip 5 months after release, not 7...
Yes. 5 is not bad at all.
@@ExtremeGameplays1 im not saying its not bad. But it was the same with GOW4 and the update came 4 months in so its pretty much the same

There is one thing what i have problem with any god of war calssic and why it's not masterpeace and funny enought...it's about combat...I KNOW I KNOW BUT...HEAR ME OUT FOR MOMENT!
First magic metter...why this can't regenerate by fighting for example by colisions?
If i'm already forced to use colisions...and thats next problem...it limits combat expression
You can and you should using hombrew cancelling and frame advantages...but that should't suppose to be the case
Allow even on using bigger magic resource...just make it regeneratable so i be felling powerfull because i'm good at game insteed of felling like i'm powerfull because i'm seted to be...resource managment gets new deepnes here
Same with colisions...best decision of gow 3 was to free combat from colisions
Also...ramming in gow 3 shows big problem with...almoust all the install of series
Combat isn't proff on broken tactics or reppeating most efficient tactics...compare this to dmc where you need to be quick always and mayby you have some combos what you can loop and get sss...but enemies and also your tools are more flexible
Also hitboxes are bit wierd in gow
Imagine that dmc have limited pistol ammo...gow is same case
In Gow Ascension Zeus Allegiance can Regenerate Magic by Respawning and Even have a Item that Gives Health and Life.
@@hurricane7727 in other gows sometimes they regenerate magic to
