You don't have to apologize for black and chrome. It's iconic. Exactly how I'd want mine.

Have the white pearl street glide with chrome trim. Just passed 1000 miles too. Coming from a multistrada but still very impressed with the performance of this bike. It’s a lot of fun and also versatile. Like the tech. Had a few issues with the screen rebooting which was fixed with a dealer software update. No other issues. I got tab performance mufflers with quiet baffles. I don’t want tinnitus and it still sounds great. Nice low rumble. Looking at the 8” windsplitter. Yes, the radio sucks but I have in helmet music. Enjoy!

I traded a 21 CVO Street Glide for a 24 non-CVO Street Glide. The 24 is light years better in every way, even though I was coming from a CVO. The standard 24 SG is still better. The 24 batwing does a much better job dealing with windy conditions than the 21. The new screen is great and it only took about an hour to get used to the new buttons on the handlebars. Both of my bikes had the 117 but the 24 is noticeably quicker than the 21 and I am very happy with the cooler riding conditions. I did a couple 97 degree trips since buying the 24. Suspension is greatly improved as well. I'm totally happy so far.

Traded in my 2012 Street Glide and got a 2024 Chieftain. I can't really compare them. The 12 year difference makes the chieftain better in every imaginable way. I'm sure the 2024 street glides ride great. Too bad about the stereo though

I love my 24 street glide. Just so you know I ordered a saddlemen seat for it, and a week later ordered some saddlebag guards. Installed the guards, the seat will not fit with any saddle bag guards. So I have to send the seat back. Saddlemen is aware and I think they pulled the road sofa off their website due to it. Hopefully they are going to come up with a solution quick because I loved that seat.

Check your suspension. The 2024's do not come pre-loaded from the factory, but you can adjust it by removing the seat and accessing the adjustor.

I bought exactly the same bike last February. Got the same windshield and added Khrome Werks slip ons. I love the windshield and I look directly over it and don’t notice any distortion. Have 4,400 miles on the bike. Ordered a Road Sofa seat, but had to cancel the order due to my saddle bag guards. The seat doesn’t fit with them.

I was at the table with the sales guy and his boss about to pull the trigger on that very bike when I discovered the dealer was trying to hose me--bigly. I went down the street and bought a 4 year old Ultra Limited. So glad I did. Congratulations on your bike.

The Harley shakes at idle, the Indian does not. The Harley is smooth during hard acceleration, the Indian is buzzy under hard acceleration.

Do you have the embedded navigation? I don’t and can’t get the setup you have with the navigation in the center. I’m just using apple CarPlay with the Waz app.

I rented a 24 Street Glide because I loved the look and tech. I hated the head shake over 100mph. Did not feel safe. Not sure if a steering damper would help.

Marty, I watched a few of your videos on the Indians you've owned. They are great bikes. I've owned the Challenger, Roadmaster, Pursuit, Chieftain and now a 2023 Springfield. The Springfield is my favorite of all the Indians for reasons I won't get in to. I also own a 2024 Goldwing Tour DCT. When the new Harleys came out, I went and priced one thinking I might trade one of the bikes or add a 3rd bike like I've done in the past. The new RG and SG look awesome, but they have some issues. Most of the issues I've read about were not ones you mentioned. In any case, I hope you enjoy your bike. No need to go overboard on putting a number rating a motorcycle. Either you like or you don't and it's a personal opinion anyway. Take care.

Mine is ticking away. Just turned 2k on my 24 streetglide. Sounds like a loud ass sewing machine. It started around 500 miles and became very loud after that. Also sounds like something is rubbing someplace. It's almost like the brake is hitting. So hard to explain but I hear it at slower speeds. I engage the clutch and it's still there. Not sure if it's in the front wheel or rear? Totally bizzare. Took 2 road trips on it so far. Had the 1k break in done and got the bike back still with that crazy ticking sound. It did not make the rubbing noise before I took it in. Idk but I'm going to ride the crap out of it and not worry too much. Still got alot of warranty left so heck with it.

Hi from Bundaberg Australia 🇦🇺🍹 i love the low rider ST & Street Glide ST & im leaning towards the Street Glide ST 🏍 Is it possible to swap out them speakers for higher quality sound ?? Or amplifier ??? And i agree with changing Windshield if its not suitable / compatible with a riders height 👍 Definitely need a touring seat if planning long days in the saddle 👍 low rider ST for around my town & twisties & 1 day rides im thinking 🤔 & Street Glide for comfort on long 5-10 day away rides & better stability on highways & windy open roads 🤔 but I'd definitely upgrade speakers . Cheers from Aus matey 🇦🇺🍹🕺

Marty, I took delivery of my 2024 Street Glide a week ago now and I am really enjoying the bike after coming from a Breakout and Fatboy. Did your OEM screen have what looks like cracks in it next to the four mounting screws, I have raised this with the dealer but they are saying both the Street Glide and Road Glide have these lines in the screens. Anyhow I have now ordered a Windsplitter 5in screen for mine and hoping that those don't have the issue. I agree the years just fly by I am 68yrs young now and making the most of my opportunities to ride. Thanks for the review and Hi from West Aussie.

Love the review and love your new bike. Like you, I appreciate fine bikes regardless of their make. Be careful if you happen to ride a Challenger which would more directly compare to your new bike. The new Indian Challenger doesn't have the heat management issues you mentioned, maintains the Indian ride, and matches the torque of the Streetglide while bettering the horsepower. I've test rode them both and the Indian feels stronger but that's my seat of the pants impression. With you, I am concerned about the (lacking) dealer network for the Indian. EVERYTHING today is highly tech laden and that's all fine until something goes wrong. My suspicion is that not seeing your gages would be the least of your concern (bike probably wouldn't start in the first place). Keep up the good work!! Let's do one of those 600-800 miles days!

I'm 73 and still ride but I don't ride big bikes anymore, not that I can't I just don't like them anymore for what I do. Riding a 475 LB. bike makes a big difference and I can turn this Versys around in my shop, no way I could do that with my Goldwing or Harley but the GW did have reverse.
I've had over 75 bikes that's where I quit counting and I've riding 10 years long than you and licensed since 14. Motorcycles get in your blood and it's hard to give it up.

Actually…You set the right side preload for yourself, if you’re taking a passenger, readjust your right side preload for your combined weight. The leafy side preload adjustment will be for your cargo weight. What’s in your saddle bags, the weight of your tour pack and its contents. If you don’t have cargo the left side preload dial sound be at zero

Why do people buy these distorted windshields? I realize you look over the windshield while riding but there are times when you look down in front of the bike and see that straight line turn into an "S". Love my Freedom Shield for lack of distortion.

I don’t understand why so many people complain about their Harley vibrating at idle. I’f it doesn’t vibrate I don’t want it. I want to know I’m on a machine not a dam car. I don’t care for these new bikes. I prefer my analog gauges. The bikes run smooth as silk on the highway. When people complain about a vibrating Harley which Harley is known for it makes me want to puke. I get it not for everyone, but if it doesn’t vibrate what’s the point of owning a Harley.

    • @ThomasNewman-v9k
      @ThomasNewman-v9k 6 месяцев назад

I heard a Harley rep at Daytona respond to the Harley vibration. He said that in the newest bikes they totally quelled it and in the owner focus group the response was so strong that they went back and dialed in some vibration to please the customer base. Apparently the Harley faithful look at it more as a heartbeat than a design flaw...

    • @martyboddie9953

I fully agree. When I bought my Indian Roadmaster it had a great heated seat, electric power windshield, very loud stereo (never turned it above half volume) and great suspension. I have considered going back to Indian for all those reasons. Harley does have better heat management, better dealer network, larger community, and better aftermarket.

I just bought this, I have few hundred miles on it:
    1. Love the bike. The upgrades from water cooled heads, to leds and the screen.
    2. I get the exhaust. All motorcycle exhaust need "something". Even if you get a named brand exhaust like akro on an indian...it needs something.
    3. Suspension. Coming from triumph, the suspension is wanting. Even after setting preload, I have bottomed out. I hate that fact I have to spend 10 mins to adjust every time my wife wants to ride.
    4. For a TOURING bike, the windshield is JUNK. It does nothing. First upgrade
    5. For a bike with speakers, THIS bike sucks from OEM. End of story. it sucks. Very disappointed AND I hate the fact I have to buy a separate part to have CarPlay work without a headset. I mean...what are speakers for at this point?
    6. Seat is fine. I've had a few harleys in the past and the seat is junk,...this one is fine. If I upgrade, it'll be just for looks or for my wife but as of now, she says its fine.
From the get go, going cheap, I'm at 1600 just to get it to where it should be: Upgraded to new Harley amp, hertz speakers, upgraded windshield and went cheap (but its a GREAT product) from amazon, exhaust, and Tim's Stereo adapter for car play. Take 700 off for exhaust, but that is still going CHEAP on everything else. 600 for amp, 250 for speakers, 120 for windshield, 115 for stereo CarPlay part.
I STILL love the bike. I do not regret going to Harley from Triumph, but I was after a touring bike and my triumph ADV bike was way more tour ready from factory than this, and half the cost.
100% with you on your initial assessment.
Why did I get rid of triumph? I LOVED my triumph. It was such a great bike, but... dealer is 100 miles away and you HAVE To use them for maintenance, or you have a light on forever. I like V twins. I like Torque, and I wanted a good easy 2 up tourer with speakers.
