I am a new Harley Davidson admirer. I saw and rode the Street Glide Special, and I am die-hard for it. Tall, your commentary on this beautiful machine was perfectly said. Thank you.
Im an older guy and have had several bikes over the years. Ive had a 2010 cvo ultra a 14 ultra and 2 Road Glides a 98 and a 17. Im on my first Street Glide and wish I knew what I was missing all these years. That bike is so comfy and so easy to ride that I sometimes forget how big and heavy it really is. I do like the look of the road Glide better but like the wind protection from the SG.Great video as always..
I stumbled across your channel a few days ago and I can absolutely say that you are so genuine and your heart true. I’ve always ridden metric bikes and your passion has me taking interest in Harley Davidson especially the Street Glide! Thank you for taking the time and effort for putting first class motorcycle content on RUclips. Awesome job Sir and keep on keeping on!!!!
I have a 2002 heritage & a 2005 heritage. Love love love the low feeling the Low center of gravity the whole bike I love love love. I’m going to look at this street glide on Friday. I might add a third to my garage. :)
Tall, I know one day you’ll be on the RG eventually! You’ll really be Gliding then. You ain’t Gliding unless you’re riding a RG. Be blessed, because you are!!!
Tall, I wonder if you have ever been in heavy highway traffic, stuck behind a semi and riding in the wind draft. You will then experience the handlebar shake of a batwing fairing. The RG fixed fairing being mounted to the bike frame will not affect the handlebars in that same situation. The Harley engineers redesigned the 2015 and newer RGs' fairing in a wind tunnel to further improve airflow around the new fairing design and there wasn't anything wrong with the older fairings. The redesign was just a part of the overall changes to the 2015 and up Rushmore RGs. Even the older model RGs Sharknose fairings are sleeker than the Batwing fairings that are more vertical and cause more wind drag. I don't doubt that you may not have experienced the handlebar shake on a batwing bike, but I have and I have never felt that on my RG.
Been watching you for two years always great content...as for me I rode both bikes before I owned one and as far as I can tell the batwing gives more wind protection never any buffering I hear people say it does and the look of the batwing is better...the sharknose feels light on the front and far away from you it seems it is easier to flik the bike back and forth from side to side and it make you want to ride it hard or faster than a batwing...I chose a SG CVO love the bike if I wanted to go fast I would have kept my Hayabusa...the bike that makes you smile when you see it is the bike you should own and the SG CVO does that for me...can't go wrong with either bike both are great bikes...keep gliding
Just made a trip from Georgia to California and back on a 2020 Street Glide with a 21 in front wheel and 14 in bars. Hade a great time and no issues. Had no fatigue issues putting 500 to 600 ish miles a day.
Hey Tall, Your content is always knowledgeable and straight on. I respect ur honesty and u always give you insight from both sides of the spectrum. I have 2019 SGS and always loved the batwing look. I'm in Northern Cali and alot of RG riders give me respect for the way my SGS looks. (Wicked Red Denim edition). Keep up the good work.
Good vid Tall! As much as us glide owners poke fun at each other about bike choice, we all know it comes down to personal preference. To each their own
My brother owns both and shared them both with me from Oregon to Canada and back! I LOVED the street glide and wouldn’t have a road slide as the fixed faring and added weight on the back made the Road Glide very difficult for me, 5’11” and 145 pounds. Street glide was smooth as silk and felt much more sporty than the Road Glide!!! Street Glide for me; purchase day after tomorrow! 😃Rocket🚀
I have an Ultra Limited. Decided to go with 2023 SGS Anniversary. Got tired of throwing my leg over the tour pack. I'm 60 so this was a hard decision. Thanks for the video. It made my decision easier. Just ride baby.
Always enjoy your videos- great content! When I made the decision to upgrade from a heritage I first thought about the SG.. everybody I knew had one lol- I had already done a few rides with one and it felt like my center of gravity was much better than on the heritage. I also knew that the riding I wanted to was a little more than “bar hoppin’ “ as I had been doing in the past. I was almost sold until I saw the RG … dope! I test drove it and not only was my center of gravity better as well but the wind was less (mostly coming from under and around the fairing on a SG) within almost 3 years of riding a glide I’m on my second RG -
I feel it’s easier to observe your mirrors on a RG because you don’t have to look down to find the mirrors. Also I like having the extra storage space on the RG fairing. While you are further away from the screen on a RG I don’t find it a problem because of the hand controls. I’ve owned both a SG and RG and at the end of the day it’s personal opinion. Both good choices but I prefer the RG.
The storage is definitely better on the RG. The SG only has one little compartment on the right side that is only really big enough to store a USB charger and cable. The left side is just a blank cover. I would have liked a little better storage on my SG.
I have ridden both and don't see a difference in handling. I currently own the Ultralimited and love it for long haul rides. I prefer the batwing for the cockpit layout and wind protection.
I owned an 03 RG rode it for 10 years (110 k miles) sold it to get into the jeep thing went broke got into the muscle car thing went bankrupt. August of 2022 bought a Can Am spyder (ugh) rode it for a year (13K miles ) dumped it a week ago for a 2016 Street Glide special and could not be happier, this SG is phenomenal. Now my wife is saying I told you to buy a Harley in the first place. Love the videos BTW
I put 25k on my 2020 Street Glide, including 14 states and 800 mile days. Absolutely possible to ride long distance. It's always annoyed me people say that, but I'm able to counter easily. I totaled the SG a month ago and I was in the hospital for 3 weeks. I'm home now, but still healing and I can't walk. I'm going to be getting a new bike, but this time, it will be a Road Glide ST. Nothing wrong with SG, I love the look, but the bike was about done. I need to try something different this next time around. As always, thanks for the content. God bless you and all who read this. God protected me and He will guide you and protect you if you let Him. Take care.
Hey. Tall, thanks for this you helped me make the right decision for me. I’m 5’5” and when I found an unsold ‘23 on sale had to test drive it -You were right on! I took it on a Hwy test drive and found it just as manageable as my FLS Slim. I was amazed and impressed. Not to mention I find the analog gage placement much better that the 24. Model’s Digital screen only (My preference - I guess) But I sure like the fact that with this fairing everything is right in your line of sight. No taking your eyes off the road - even for a second. Why mess with perfection! Thanks for your reviews.
I have a 2021 Street Glide and I'm 5'10" and it's a perfect fix. Also, I agree with you on every point, especially your point about see the curve... that's something that I took for granted. Keep Gliding
I've had two RGUs and an Electra Glide Classic (and three other rides before those), all great rides, but I do miss my Concours 14. I do appreciate your content Tall. Ride safe. That hoodie is tight too.
I think both are beautiful bikes, but I’m with you. I’ll keep my Street Glide. By the way, we’re almost the same height. I’m a woping 5’9” on a good day 😂
I bought a Street Glide ST last year. I was looking at the Road Glide ST as well. I also like the shape of the shark nose fairing. I went with the Street Glide for many of the reasons you mentioned. The styling, the gauges in clear view, the nav screen in easy reach, I like the mirror locations etc. I picked it up on Friday afternoon and then on Saturday morning headed off on a 3 day 2000KM ride. At the end of the 2nd day I really was wondering if I had made the wrong decision with the Street Glide. I'm a tall rider and the wind buffeting from the street glide fairing was really bad. I called into a dealer on the way and asked what I could do and I left with a taller screen and some lower wind deflectors. The wind deflectors should come standard on these bikes as they make a huge difference.
Any bike is easier to pick up off of the stand if you turn the bars to the right. The RoadGlide may still be harder than the StreetGlide, but both will be easier turned to the right. I say buy whichever one pleases you the most. For me I prefer the Batwing. Like you I like the layout of the gauges and the fact that the fairing is closer to you. You mentioned the mirrors, but on the Ultra they mount on the handlebars instead of like they do on the StreetGlide.
Hey y’all great video, so many good points never realized. In my humble opinion the SG is a better highway bike for wind buffeting and less fatigue. The only complaint are the mirrors which I would swap out immediately for handlebar version. HD should dump those stock mirrors and put some storage bins over there for sunglasses etc.
I love my 2019 SGS also Tall! I agree with you 100%. I don't feel any major fatigue at all when traveling on long trips after a day's worth of riding 70 plus mph on the interstate. No fairing wobble when passing Tractor Trailers.
over 3rd and 4th of July I rode my new 2023 street glide special 1000mi with a passenger and neither of us were tired from fighting the fairing. Last month i rode my dyna (solo) like that while traveling from IL. to KY and TN From fighting the wind, no cruise and foot pegs instead of boards my whole body was sore at the end of each day. Being a smaller guy (5'6" and 170lbs.) I never had a problem controlling the S.G. at any speed, or picking it off the stand.
Great Tall! You’re right in what you are sayin’ about the street glide. and don’t forget you can add passing lights to the streetglide to have much more lighting also. When you are ridin it the look you have on the fairing gauges/navigation is much more appealing to me than the roadglide. and storage in the fairing… well that isn’t that good on the roadglide either. not that important in my book. Keep it up, appreaciate all your video’s. Have a good one and keep the rubber down! 👍👍 Fan from the Netherlands, yes the land of the klumps! 😁
Currently ride a 2020 Street Glide, past 2009 Street Glide and have ridden a 1994 and a 2005 FX Low Ryder ans 1998 FL Standard (pre cursor to Street Glide). I've ridden MCs since 1966. (Not HD until 1994.) Really like your videos, very informative. I'll be watching more.
It is so funny to this video now knowing you bought a Road Glide. I just bought Street Glide ST. My last bike was a Road Glide and I definitely agree that the SG’s cockpit is easier to see and use the screen.
Great vid as usual! I got 12 apes on my Street Glide and had to move my mirrors up on the bars, and my hands sit slightly above the fairing. I hated the look of apes originally because the majority I saw were the "stick em up" \o/ variety. Having switched, I feel I have better control and fewer neck and shoulder issues on long rides. Plus, they look good, and it gets people still running stock bars curious and asking to sit and try em.
2020 streetglide special I've gone from Philly to Virginia multiple times I hear the road glide handle better but I don't feel any wind 80 90mph the Bike just goes no issues smooth with more Power ready at a twist. Buy what you like that's always the right answer
i really like these videos just cant get enuff of the smack talk🤣but one thing is for sure ROAD glide or street glide is we all will ride together and will always help anyone in need
Never had a Road Glide. Can’t get on board with the look of the shark nose fairing. I’ve had a couple Ultras and a couple Streetglides and currently have a CVO Street glide which has been the best !
Love your videos but i beg the differ, long time street glide rider here and when i went to the road glide; i never looked back. Its all good! It is what it is! 🤷🏼♂️
What did you end up getting? I did the opposite of you and ended up with the RG Special & Love it. Easy to maneuver, That headlight stuff in this video was off IMO.. I have no issues seeing anything around me at all, especially with my 23 RG and very bright headlights.
I'll stick with my 2014 Firefighter Shrine STREETGLIDE. ABSOLUTELY ❤️ MY BIKE . I'm 5ft 7in and am cocooned behind the batwing. I rode a roadglide and it's like a car dashboard up front . Now I believe there is more room on the roadglide for taller riders . Been riding 44 odd years, and love the ORIGINAL fairing. 🇬🇧🇺🇸😎👍
Tall I just have to say to each his or her own. All of those reason you gave are nice and dandy. Reason for a Road Glide over a Street Glide can be given also. So in other words we will see you on the great highways of America. Keep the rubber side down and enjoy your Harley or whatever you chose to ride 👍🏾.
I have a SGS and my son has a RGS. Both are great bikes and we do switch on occasion. I still feel my Glide handles better than his Glide. But he’ll say the same thing about his Glide😂. Keep the Glide competition going Tall! I’m still laughing. Like when you open an can of worms 🤣
LOVE my Street Glide!! I'm only 5'2" & everything you said was right on the money!! Both bikes are great but to each their own! Street Glide was the better option for me!!
I am always impressed with your explanations on all things Harley Davidsons and it’s my pleasure to one day but my first street glide because of your distink discussion this was an outstanding introduction to why I should but a street glide!!!
I have owned several Harleys over the years. But I never cared for the baggers. So I got away from them to experience other motorcycles which there’s some amazing ones out there. But now that I’m getting old and not as strong I want to the low center of gravity. So this bike has always been the one bagger I would get. So it is on my bucket list
Thank you for sharing this video I also like the Street glide and plan on getting a Street glide Special some time after the big revel. Thank you for sharing your videos with us they have been very informative both on the bikes and products for them. Keep up the great work Tall, and be safe out there God Bless and cant wait to see what next year brings for you and your channel.
The only thing that matters is that regardless of what HD we ride we all ride together. That’s what’s so special about this country we choose what we love to ride. It would be very boring if we all Road the same bike! Keeper out of the ditch and your knees in the breeze!! Stay safe out there!!!
Previously owned a CVO ultra Ltd. SG. I love my new CVO RG Ltd. with a 131 crate motor. Hands down for me the RG is a much more comfortable long haul bike but to each his/her own.
Ty,ty,ty!, I love your channel. Maybe now I can talk my wife into a new bike. I live in North West TN. So I feel somewhat of a kinship. Keep up the great videos .
Well this road glide cvo 2022 owner has a rider and doing trips she wanted total comfort. So I let her pick either bike you ride has the learning for sure. I can now ride the road and the street the same way. And as far as the headlights the street has the advantage for sure but with the custom dynamic lights to add to the road glide makes up for the loss of being able to see better in the turns like the street glide. And to be fatigued on either bike there is none so that myth is busted. Enjoy your content as usual and if your not being blessed then be the blessing.
You brought up some good points that no one really thinks about, the speakers for 1, but seeing the front wheel especially for those who have lift tables or wheel chocks makes sense.. i like the look of both but not sure about the holes in the shark.nose for cold morning rides!! Great video
A very good video, gave me some great insight on a Street Glide. I currently ride a 2014 Heritage and am looking into the Glides. My brother in GA told me it would fit me to a tee so I am really glad that I saw this video. Thanks, any information is good information as long as it’s not bias and fact base. 😊
Turning the bars opposite of the side stand to get it upright easier works on a Road Glide as well. But you're 100% right, I got off my R1 because of the Street Glide, ended up with a Road Glide though.
I love the beating on us Real Gliders....oh sorry, Road Gliders 🤣 don't worry, I wanted to be like Batman when I was young too Tall haha seriously man, love the channel, when I started looking into customising mine, I found you and now my bike is like a rolling Custom Dynamics commercial, representing over here in the UK! Keep on gliding my man and maybe one day, you'll own a true glide! 🤣🤙🏻
I sold my dyna this year and bought me a 22 street glide should have done it along time ago. I can’t stand the faring on RG. Thanks tall for the video.
My play cousin Tall and big Tony must have been sipping on some of that good Tennessee moonshine before making this video. Law enforcement officers don't ride Road Glides because they attract too many honey's. My brother will use this video against me for sure. Nevertheless, it's Road Glide all day. Nice video as always, and Happy holidays to you and your family. Respect!!!
I love my Street Glide and just feel it's better looking than a RG and the dash layout is closer to you. Also the tray that slides out on my 2024 model keeps my phone, cash and whatever I'm carrying right at my fingertips.
Ive ridden a 08 electra glide classic for years and seen it was time to upgrade. I rode a 21 road glide limited and an ultra classic. I ultimately walked away with a street glide. I too just didn't really like the view from on the road glide. I did have to get a removable tour pack and another seat for trips and when my wife rides with me but I was blown away at the difference in power from the 103 to the 114. I'm 60 and the street glide is so much easier to handle. Wish I had bit the bullet sooner.
Tall great points I ride a sg st and love my batwing being a short rider has its challenge's so the bat wing is for me thanks for great videos and keep gliding.
I'm a Street Glide Special fan now Tall. Traded my 2011 Street Glide for a 2022 Street Glide Special. I'm happy. It's comfortable riding. I have added LED riding lights to the front along with the LED bullet lights. Great lighting at night.
Bat wing vs Shark nose ? It applies to most motorcycle companies, not just the MoCo. But the ribbing is almost always good natured. Congrats for taking on the controversy, as there will never be a definitive answer.... (Just for the record, I'm a bat wing guy & have been for most of my 30+ years of riding...) Ride what you like & love what you ride. I'll keep watching.......
You can ride the batwing and the shark long distance but you will be less worn out on the shark. I have owned both The Ultra, and Street glide, and now an RGS.
Very good points I’m actually in the market for another bike I ride a Heritage now which I love and I was looking at the Road Glide but after your video I’m considering a street glide
I rode a street though I was set on a road. Thought I told the dealer I was set on a Road. I’m a wider tall guy so I love the road glides wide fairing and how much air it pics up. Though your hands definitely aren’t protected but most rode w aftermarket bars so u aren’t usually no matter what u ride. The street is very nimble almost like a road king. But a glide on the highway is definitely smoother and doesn’t budge in travel past a 18 wheeler w no skirting to stop under travel of air. It definitely boils down to style of riding. Neither is wrong because it’s still a HARLEY lol
Hi Tall, love your videos you produce, very informative. For that reason, I'm kinda getting to like the Street Glide a lot more, and, probably looking at that particular bike over the Road King or the Low Rider ST. keep up the great work you're doing.
I turn the handlebars to the right on my RG to get bike up. It is easier than muscling the bike up. The SG does have a weight assist advantage, but it is a proven method for both bikes.
I am a new Harley Davidson admirer. I saw and rode the Street Glide Special, and I am die-hard for it. Tall, your commentary on this beautiful machine was perfectly said. Thank you.

I'm definitely a road glide dude but that's only because of the fixed faring

I have to admit, the Road Glide ST in the 21 things every Harley-Davidson riders needs to know almost had me going home with a Road Glide.
Roadglide Nation :-D. just saying bro . :-)
RG yeah!
Tall,
I wonder if you have ever been in heavy highway traffic, stuck behind a semi and riding in the wind draft.

Street Gliding is the only Real Gliding, Great video Tall as usual

As a new rider I’m really glad I went with the street glide. First day on it and it felt great. Handles great, smooth easy to maneuver. Great bike

Just bought a 2023 Street Glide best bike ever for me , thanks for comparing
I have ridden both and don't see a difference in handling. I currently own the Ultralimited and love it for long haul rides. I prefer the batwing for the cockpit layout and wind protection.
Sharp presentation with a unique perspective !!! I hate both models are priced the same ! Just bugs me !!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Love my 2009 concours. Love my 2010 harley ultra classic. Ride on!
I think both are beautiful bikes, but I’m with you. I’ll keep my Street Glide. By the way, we’re almost the same height. I’m a woping 5’9” on a good day 😂
I'm blinded by love!
Had a street glide!
Road glide all the way for me!
Thanks for Sharing!
Rock n Roll!
See you on the road!
Love my 2011 Street Glide. Currently have 82K miles on it. To each his own, but I am comfortable ridding my Street Glide any where.
After my test ride today, I think I might be with you. Shocked, but the Street Glide is no joke.
I bought a Street Glide ST last year. I was looking at the Road Glide ST as well. I also like the shape of the shark nose fairing. I went with the Street Glide for many of the reasons you mentioned. I’m 6’3 coming off 10 years of supersport bikes and this helped for sure I feel that statement
street glider here and i support this message. i really like the gauge layout on the street.
👍
Great to see bike reviews from someone tall like myself. Reviews from riders 5'6" tall are pointless for me. Subscribed. 👍
Have to give him props on the points Talk brought up. Keep them coming Tall. Much love
Road glide is superior but if you ride a Street glide that's cool. Roadglide was originally made for the long haul, Street glide is a sport version.
We going to have to ride again soon.
Hey y’all great video, so many good points never realized. In my humble opinion the SG is a better highway bike for wind buffeting and less fatigue. I love my 2019 SGS also Tall! I agree with you 100%. I don't feel any major fatigue at all when traveling on long trips after a day's worth of riding 70 plus mph on the interstate. No fairing wobble when passing Tractor Trailers.
Tall, because of your video, I just bought a 2023 street glide special and I love the bike. My other bike is a 96 fatboy. Luvin the street glide. 😊
over 3rd and 4th of July I rode my new 2023 street glide special 1000mi with a passenger and neither of us were tired from fighting the fairing.
Road King!!!! I gots two and I have one Street Glide. Money and economy permitting, I’d have a RG ST too. Love them all
Thanks, I have always liked the Road Glide, you have given me some real reasons to consider the batwing.
Just did 4000 miles this last fall on my street glide , very comfortable ride .
Funny, I sat on a street glide today, got home from work then I saw this video! Awesome
Love your videos but i beg the differ, long time street glide rider here and when i went to the road glide; i never looked back. Its all good! It is what it is! 🤷🏼♂️
Just traded my breakout in on a 2019 street glide special and absolutely love it. So glad I made the switch.
I think we need to get a urine analysis on Traveling Tall , he is clearly on something. 😆 🤣 😂
Keep videos coming
I have been shopping for a road glide. You just made me shift gears and now I'm almost certain I want a street glide.
Got me a 2022 streetglide special this weekend. I liked the roadglide but not as much as streetglide. Great video. Appreciate
If at this time you are completely confused on which one to get. Just get a Road King and leave then all in the dust. Cool video
Thank you for coming in and doing this video at our place.
The only thing that matters is that regardless of what HD we ride we all ride together. That’s what’s so special about this country we choose what we love to ride. It would be very boring if we all Road the same bike! Keeper out of the ditch and your knees in the breeze!! Stay safe out there!!!
Thanks Tall, I’m on a Yamaha Stratoliner 1900 right now. Been looking at street Glide , I think you sold me on it😊
Love my SGS rode them both and at 5'9" the SGS is much more comfortable . Enjoyed your suggestions and visions.
Great video
Totally agree Street Glide looks way better than the other bike… I’d definitely choose the street over the road! Definitely my next Harley
Totally agree with you, it has cleaner lines and all the gauges in line just looks right to me.
A very good video, gave me some great insight on a Street Glide. I currently ride a 2014 Heritage and am looking into the Glides. My brother in GA told me it would fit me to a tee so I am really glad that I saw this video. Thanks, any information is good information as long as it’s not bias and fact base. 😊
Looking at purchasing a 2024 street glide in the spring of 2025 here in Newfoundland Canada, excited to say the least, love your videos, take care
It's all personal preference. The only difference between the two is the fairing......
Turning the bars opposite of the side stand to get it upright easier works on a Road Glide as well. But you're 100% right, I got off my R1 because of the Street Glide, ended up with a Road Glide though.
Way to represent Tall bathwing forever!!!
BigMike. from Gainesville FL
I've had 5 street glides and I try to like the road glide but it doesn't feel right to me. I like the looks of the road glide much more. Fun channel.
You are good ! I like ur videos, they are exact and straight forward. You know ur bikes ! Thanks bro ! Safe travels
The Street Glide is the best Glide for me ! Thanks Tall
I rode my SG 1500 miles in 20 hours like a boss!!! Love the SG ....
I couldn’t agree more I love my street glide!
but like you said it’s a matter of opinion
Great video tall !
😎 I agree that SG is a better bike but I'm still parcel to my bike the best glide, the Wide Glide. Good video.
You can ride the batwing and the shark long distance but you will be less worn out on the shark. I have owned both The Ultra, and Street glide, and now an RGS.
Always liked the Street Glide and you do get less wind and manuvers better , like the videos
Very good points
I’m actually in the market for another bike I ride a Heritage now which I love and I was looking at the Road Glide but after your video I’m considering a street glide
I love both. I would be happy with either one. But I'm leaning toward road glide for the wind.
I turn the handlebars to the right on my RG to get bike up. It is easier than muscling the bike up. The SG does have a weight assist advantage, but it is a proven method for both bikes.
Just found your channel Tall. Nice video. I’m just up the road from you in east TN also. Keep up the good work.
