I can no longer as I'm getting older, and I crushed my ankle so no more climbing freeway fences at 3:00 a.m. Anyway, I feel your pain and your joys. You do your best, know your limits, and hold tight to your love for animals. I have signed on as a $3 a month, the best I can do for now, but I do know it adds up. I’m 30 year old man who is a recovering addict (7 years clean) and recently (November last year) I was suffering depression really bad on the verge of giving up on life. My baby girl Violet found me at work she was starving and alone. Maybe 9 days old. That kitten saved my life. I’d do anything for her. Now yes my wife does the very best she can, but animals do things humans cannot. Man she’s my world. I say that to say this. Me and my wife want to start an animal sanctuary soon but we are in a bad spot ourselves. So no way we could do non profit. Eventually yes. But I owe my life to cats. I genuinely do. I wish I could help them all. I mean there’s been a few nights recently I made sure my wife and cat had food before myself. I’d starve before either one of them go hungry

Great information! I’ll have to retire in 10 years and this is something I’ve thought of doing. Maybe I’ll volunteer first. I work in the animal (mostly cats, but I taxi dogs) community here in Korea. At 3 (10 year old) cats, I am maxed out, so I focus on TNR, education, winter shelters and encouraging others. My 3rd “bonus cat” was a neighborhood TNR who got sick one winter and pleaded with me to take him. Now he has 4 teeth, has had surgery for massive bladder stones, but will celebrate or 6th Cattiversary together at the end of the month! I know 3 cats pushed my limits, but Valjean is my sweetheart and my current landlord is OK with 3 cats!

I've never had that but I have spent a week in the hospital because a cat I was working with when I used to do volunteer work decided to rip my thumb open and it got infected. The cat was later adopted and became one very sweet lap kitty.
I need help starting a cat rescue or sanctuary on the edge of my town. Many people dont like them because they have dogs. Most havw no compassion for the homeless kitties. Please help me. Please pray. I have no idea how to get enough money to buy a facility with enough room. I work so im not sure how it will be staffed full time , maybe volunteers. How do you handle the really ferral ones?
Several years ago we had a thriving cat rescue community but over time, little by little, many were either forced to shut down or even move out of state all because of one organization called the "Humane Society". Their gripe was that all of the rescues were taking away money they needed for salaries and overhead. They weren't about the animals, it was all about them! In addition they claimed to be a No Kill rescue but it later came out they were lying through their teeth! They would take cats, and dogs, that hadn't been adopted by a certain time out to our country's high kill facility and the county would do the killing so that, technically, they were still a No Kill facility. I wasn't aware of this hypocrisy until it happened to me. They had a cat I wanted to adopt and on the day I went top get her, she was gone! The woman there told me she was at another facility but a volunteer followed me outside and told me that my cat had been taken to the county and they KNEW I was coming that afternoon to adopt the poor cat! To this day it takes all I can do to not attack somebody just because they mentioned that organization's name in my presence! Being so politically connected it is virtually impossible to do anything about them. At one time I had ten cats living indoors with me with one feral outside. A neighbor killed my feral and four of my seniors passed over the Rainbow Bridge last year due to age issues. I now have just six cats living indoors with me, the oldest being a huge black longhair that is nine years old. The thing most people don't understand is that I am allergic to cats but I have learned to cope with it just to have the cats.
My cousin tries to run a small in home rescue for all the abandonded trailer park cats in her park. Shes in poor health and poor, but....she refuses to give up, cause she loves them so much. Do you two have a third single sister like you two? Im single...and would like to um adopt her! . Wish I lived closer!
Not to brag but....in 3 hours I live trapped 8 ferals and had them in every type of cage including boxes in my Bolt EV. boy were they hungry! went back 4 times for 13 more. whew...a labor of love. I sleep with 3 . im such a happy warm um....failure
Are the cats used to go in on her dog walk do you know when dogs use I was just❤ I seen a place where they have cats just sitting outside with the dog Louis Louis just laying there❤❤❤

Have you ever thought about using wood pellets instead of kitty litter. It's extremely cheaper. $36 of wood pellets to last me a whole year and I have six litter boxes and four cats
I’m in a small town of 500 people and we have a house that is feeding cats but no money to fix them and it’s sad there have been two litters born in the last month. So sad 4 week old kitties running all over the place where does it stop. I could fix two but that will do no good. I wish I lived close to a rescue I would definitely donate my time I love cats.

If you have to be acknowledged because of a donation, then you gave for the wrong reason.
Some people do it for the tax write off which is the wrong reason to give. It's all about the cats, not about the humans!
